-Written by the hand of Sir Anamir Caledarn-
Blades,
We are in a precarious condition. Cut off from any other Crown forces, we are forced to consider our position. Lord Venas remains unaccounted for. We can assume he has been taken to the nearest Drow settlement, which I have yet to put a name to. As our numbers stand, we have little chance of a direct assault upon this as yet unknown city, so are forced to consider other options for the moment. As follows is what is currently known about various factions that seemingly vie for control of the city.
Overall leadership:
An Elected 'Council', headed by one Mayor Bresley. As of yet no contact with members of the Council, or it's Mayor.
Seekers:
Elements of this organisation rescued us from captivity, as you all will be aware of. Seem to be a more amiable group in comparison to the Spellguard. Further relations should be pursued.
Spellguard:
Described by Seeker Agents that were encountered as 'Opressive', first impressions did little to dull this view. Man encountered was overly polite, without offering any real support. May well hold significant power in town. Approach with caution.
Watch:
Functioning as standing army and law enforcement in the town, member of this group who were encountered seemed overly confident. Perhaps contact with Drow has hardened. PErhaps otherwise. No caution for the moment.
May I note rescueing Lord Venas and his family are highest priority for all Blades. Oaths are not sworn lightly. I advise you not to grow too complacent. If all goes well, this stay shall be a short one.
Standing orders are to get a feel for the City.

First Sword,
Advice on our situation: We should work closely with the city watch and the seekers, for the obviously possess more resources than us at the moment -
as I reform from the information supply to us, the seekers act more as the town's exploration agent - the "why" we encountered them.
and the city watch works as the military "defense" agent,
This leaves a void we could carry, as it would work with our goals, and gives a sinergetic relationwith this.. city.
My idea is that we would work as the military "assault" agent, it should gives to the explorative aspect that we require to fulfill our goals, as well as a good standpoint to work with.
-It was brought to my attention that a group of red wizards are also in the city - proceed with care.

First Sword,
I have contacted and seen the Red wizards, they seem rather well establish, they had 3-4 soldiers with them, at the time, all heavily armored. They were at the time, with a small kobold with a mustache, probably one of their slave.
As well, I met with Faenor Rollo, he is a dwarf from the same clan as the private we met earlier; He seemed to agree on most subjects of our conversation, and offered his help in finding our Liege.
Other than that, this town reeks with hypocrisy, their law clearly states that slavery is an illegal method, yet slavers are free to walk inside their walls, as noticeable by these Red Wizards, and those Duergars. I would be careful in dealing with the militia, their days in the underdark has perhaps tainted their oath and their honor.

Blades,
Today I discovered a second half of this 'City'. It appears that there is an independant city that functions below that which we have become aquainted. It appears there was a conflict between these 'Upper' and 'Lower' Cities, in which the Lower half achieved Independance. Demands for the dissolution of the Spellguard are amoungst their demands for reunification. Contact should be established with elements of the Government of this 'Lower' Sanctuary.

P.S The presence of Thayans is disturbing. Investigate their motives with all due haste.

First Sword,
I have spent my time in the region of the city known as lower. It is very hard making friends and contacts here due to the high attrition rate in the surrounding enviorons. This "Lower" portion of sanctuary reminds me so much of Marsember. It has a desperate feel in this quarter but thier love of independance and individual freedom in light of their circumstance gives me hope.
I have had little contact with the other members of the lance (squad) and I am uncertain of their status. I hope they are well and I pray for their continued well being. I await your orders,
For the Crown!

Blades,
Ambercrown has been especially vigilant in his investigations. It appears there may well be a way to gain acess to Traensyr. As it transpires, there any many a countryman in and around this Sanctuary, more than I believed. One Ferrington is a former War Wizard in the Service of the Crown, and Mr. Baezos, who I believe you have already met. More information to come shortly.
