O.k. you started a thread for us now it's your turn. Besides the obvious more d.m. faction participation, What would you like to see more when the server is back up fully.? Cheers all. :)
What the d.m.'s would like to see.
Probably something like this.
No offense, Snoteye, but I am sure every DM has some "personal touches" he prefers to see so it would still be very much worthwhile to hear something from The Men 'emselves. And from Sherry too.
I just linked that because several DMs had responded.
Creative play, creative thinking, creative involvement, creative conflict, and creative resolution. Make cool stuff happen that creates good memories both the players and the DMs can remember and reminisce.
FIRE BREATHING MONKEYS.
But that'd require a hak :(
Howland pretty much nailed it in his post that Snoteye also linked. That post is a must-read for all players!
Besides that, just be patient with us. If we ask players to do something, it's not an attack on you. For example, I once asked a player to change his inappropriate name and he threw a hissy fit and threatened to leave EFU. When I told him about the server policy, he insulted me, logged off and never came back. Go figure.
We're here to have fun, so let's all sit back and have a good time.
[EDIT:] Actually, besides that all I can say is I like characters that emphasize their flaws.
[EDIT2:] Also I'd like to see more of an emphasis on fear. Some characters it's in-character for them to be fearless of this or that, but I tend to think that if a random joe saw a very powerful illithid who has them by the throat that they wouldn't be spouting threats, but rather be fearing for their life, begging to survive.
Wings and glowy eyes.
Edit:
Tails too.
On a more serious note:
Examine your PC's (all of them you've played on EFU) , their personality, and their flaws. Now take a look at the current PC you are playing. Have you deviated from your regular formula? Is this the same PC you have been playing over and over with a new class/weapon/accent?
What I'd like to see is players examining their roleplay, and trying to expand the sort of characters they play -- working hard to ensure they're not playing the same character over and over. Creative thinking and constant scrutiny of dynamic PC's will overall improve everyone as a roleplayer, and make EFU more fun for me to watch over + run stories for. (Keep in mind I mean that we should scrutinize our own PC's, not others!)
More character romance and marriage.
