The Spellguard has taken over Upper. They announced it openly after killing a Councilman, Raymus. The Council is abolished and your title of Councillor is forfeit. They also openly announced that Torture and Death is the fate of any who oppose them.

I wish to know how the Great Shadow Death - a being I deeply respect, fear, and honor - views these events, given the long history of tawdry and contemptuous treatment of him by the Spellguard.

I wish to also know if the Great Shadow Death plans on driving the Chosen from Lower.

Write to Apprehensive Citizen at Mur if you deign to provide answers. Knowing how things stand with your Master will do much to improve my peace of mind either way.

The chosen appear to be seizing control of the Machine, and it is expected that they will attack Upper when they've finished whatever they're doing in there.

I don't think the need for the protection of your master has even been more dire, even as necks are still too stiff to bow to him.

The Shadow Death views the civil strife with a parental concern, and is greatly saddened that his children would fight each other instead of training their arms and minds against outlying dangers.

Suffice to say, that just when your city seems to be on the brink of imminent destruction, the air aloft will swirl to the terrible beat of my Master's wings, the caves will grow dark with a smothering shadow, and your enemies will dissipate as they must, or face utter extermination.
