A change to the quest itself would be undesirable and possibly break what isn't broken and doesn't really need to be "improved". Increasing the level range by one so people who do all the suggested route quests can still use this quest to get them to help them with their low level endeavours is a much better alternative and requires much less effort.

Quote from: Yalta;262351I would think its reasonable that average animals (badgers/rats/wolves/boars) would be wary of those who are:

Covered in swirling magics
Heavily armoured
Hugely muscled
Extremely confident

Dependant on the PC class etc. these would be reasonable traits to expect from the range of PC's that have hit lvl 7+ or so.

Bears/Tigers/Panthers however may still want to make a meal of you.

Sounds like a great logical tweak to me.

You're assuming the animal is capable of perceiving these traits. More likely an animal will perceive a human, not a strong human or a weak human, just a human. Gauging the strength of another species is difficult enough for a human let alone an animal.

Quote from: Mort;262309I implanted a better version of this with AE, but that also prevents our animal to randomly attack creatures that are WAY stronger than them... They might do it a bit still, but it should be better than what it was before.

There might be some glitching in touchy situation, please report odd behaviors.

The only time I've noticed the script failing to function is when the docile animal finishes attacking something else. For example if you pass by a cat that would otherwise be docile while it is fighting a sea gull it will then turn and fight you if you are within sight range despite your animal empathy. I'd assume similar things are happening between the npc.

Take a ranger level if you don't want to deal with your situation or just suck it up. Part of playing a nature pc who isn't a ranger/druid is having to find creative ways to evade the animals of the wild if you lack druid or ranger levels.

Animals don't attack the stargazers for the same reason many of the more territorial dinosaurs(non meat eating) do not attack Chultans. They've been living together for hundreds of years and built a trust. Non stargazers are strangers to the land and their kind have been murdering the animals left and right, so naturally they aren't granted the same cover.

QuoteIf you spend 90% of your time in the wilds, you will know how to avoid that wolf pack or act in a way to make them ignore you.

This is true, indeed you will know to do one of the following: go the long way around, have an empathic bond, be stealthy, or go invisible.

Re-logging fixes the dex bug, but this has the side effect of removing all buffs attached to items. The only other fixes for this are to increase the dex of the afflicted for a moment or give them freedom of movement.

MAYBE 2-4 I'd be against anything further. I usually do that quest once per character to fund the low level solo quests which easily take you to/very near 5. Having it at 5 would make life a bit too easy.

I'm not sure if they do in fact spawn near mistlocke, but I do know there is an npc that accepts them in mistlocke, so it could be simply they get picked often by lower level non-nature pc's passing through to do quests.

Quote from: The Boom King;261469Max out H/MS and spot/listen and follow suspected lycans like a creeper- imo.

If a Lycantrophe doesn't invest in detection skills they detect a person with up to 25 hide and move silently fairly regularly. If they invest skill points in detection you'll need to be somewhere near the 40's and they'll still spot you occasionally. In turn actually spotting them requires around 15 spot/listen at the very least. Unless they aren't investing in stealth.

But yeah I guess it does work if you can get all those skills raised so high <_<

Quote from: HaveLuteWillTravel;261424In the current DM plot it was already stated that things like silver and belladonna will not detect a lycan that's in human form. Egon, you already knew this since this entire thing has involved the Muster closely, so lets not go fogging up things now by playing Daddy against Mommy.   >.>

Seems very strange. Why would a source of damage that effects shapechangers not work on a shapechanger? Even in human form their race remains shapechanger, they just inherit human race in addition while in the form. Effects that deal damage to either will work on a shapechanger, but damage vs shapechanger should work no matter what shape he happens to be in.

Silver isn't exclusive to werecreatures, it works on all shapechangers, lycans included, no matter what shape they're in at the time. I don't know whether belladonna is exclusive to lycantrophe or not, but silver certainly isn't.

A few lycan hunting tools with charge/use that only function to effect lycans would be nice.

Example a silver idol, used on a normal pc no damage, used on a lycan  causes frost damage and fingers them out. Considering they're such a  powerful race it wouldn't be much to their detriment.

Quote from: Ebok;260016And stands as tall as a human. If the middle creature is man-sized, it reaffirms the panther far more then a kitten. I would also like to point out that it is the extreme that determines the creature, not the hybrid. Example:

Human + Wolf = Werewolf
Human + Dire Bat = Werebat (gargoyle model)

The were-cat race is taken directly out of one of the core books, yet we lack sufficient representation for it. What you see is what you get. It's a were-panther.

If we want to get technical, you cannot even BE a werepanther. You can however be a werecougar, wereleopard, werejaguar, but not a werepanther as panther is a term used to describe black variants of the aforementioned cats. The panther itself is not one specific cat.

Also the stats on the cat shape are abominable. Doesn't even come close to the jungle panther or even druid panther shape.

Animal shape may look like panther, however the hybrid shape has black fur with brown stripes, a white belly and a fussy greyish white patch on its head. I've never heard of any big cat with those kind of marks, seen plenty of regular old house cats that looked a lot like that though.
