Merp, reinstalling trouble

As I am a complete n00b, and have such an awful grasp of the techincal side of a computer, I am totally struggling to reinstall NwN on this new machine. I have done the general installation, but the update thing doesn't seem to want to work, so I go and download the critical rebuild, thing. This doesn't seem to actually patch the entire game, or whatever, so could anybody give me some hints, or tell me of some specific way to update the game to 1.69? I is a sad :confused

Get the critical rebuild there, and if you follow the instructions on that page it should set you up. If not come onto Darkmyst's IRC at darkmyst.org and find me in #efu and send me a PM and I'll walk you through a longer and more tedious fix.

remember. Install basic neverwinter nights, then expansions, then get the critical rebuild and follow instructions and do it.

just to make sure, don't try to update them in between installing expasions and so on.
