These are my picks, curious what others would pick.

1. A thing with a shield and HP
2. A thing that buffs #1 with imp invis / extended flame/gmw
3. A cleric / RG / Bard of some sort that can briefly hold the role of #1 when needed while providing massive utility
4. A thing that does a lot of damage with a big weapon
5. A thing that can remove traps / open doors




Notably, most of these have quality saving throws because that is the world we live in. Ideally, one or two of them have some political skillets to make the group worthwhile in the eyes of many.
