Quote from: SkillFocuspwn;177368I'd just like to point out that a 5/- cloak with nothing else on it was given as DM loot for fighting a dragon, it's not going to start appearing willy nilly.

Although I for one like the idea of the combust immunity cloak, I don't know how common it is. A useful counter to a single spell, leaving you otherwise cloakless.

Strange since there are common drop amulets with 5/- and I believe even some with 15/- to certain elements. There is a helmet on a low level quest with 5/- electrical as well. I'm sure many more things too that I don't recall.

While the spell immunity might be a little much for common loot it's hardly game breaking. I've seen very few player wizards use combust  and even fewer people wearing this cloak outside of on the quests that spam the spell. Maybe some of the NPC mages could use a few new spells and this cloak can go away at the same time. HEH

Yup, Gnolls use Goblin insults and such.

lolmechanics

Anyway, I don't think the cloak should remain as common loot but perhaps as something a little more rare. (Hero spawns, small chance on the quest) It's useful in some situations but there are far more useful cloaks out there as well.

It's not meant to be anything of the sort. Evards doing bulk damage as a whole rather than individual tentacle damage is different than normal. As in, 7+7+7+7+7 physical damage is different than 35 damage when it comes to resistance and reduction mechanics. A blur, formally, would have reduced the total damage in that case to 10 (7-5 five times) compared to 30 (35-5). It used to function how it is now, then it was changed in 1.69 before being changed on EFU again at some point.

The changes however aren't the issue. I just think that having knowledge of these things whenever possible would be awesome. We know you guys do a ton of stuff already but I think some importance rests with handing out the information to mechanical changes. It's not a big deal and everyone is relaxed, don't worry :)

Spellcraft is total ranks, not base. A strong wizard can easily get +4-5 universal saves against spells.

I don't believe it stacks with the other bonuses anyway, last I heard.

I'm just of the opinion that better things could be 'fixed'. The server side lag would be a prime target in my mind since it makes it pretty horrible as a player to try and take part in anything that's stressing the server out. This rarely happened before so I don't see why it would be now <_<

But yeah, I said my piece that was on topic and don't think it's good. :P

I'm pretty sure the extra 5-10 seconds after a reset doesn't really matter. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing the main reason here is to slightly increase the speed at which the module is uploaded as each builder exchanges and works on it? Also, how much of a decrease in size would this even amount to?

As for other ideas - I suppose trimming the amount of resources  (placeables, NPCs, items) would help a lot. I believe there is even a 'cap' on the amount you can have in a module and as you near it / pass it you'll start having problems.

Complete removal of old redesigned areas that likely still sit in module would be another option.

The last thing I can think of would be to totally remove the Underdark from this module and move it to a second that can be hosted independently. The areas are so seldom used and it's almost certain that you'll have / need a DM to go there anyway.

I would rather they stay as they add a lot of flavor.

I think that this would at least be worth a trial run.

Yeah, Derf and I are great friends just ask around.
