Quote from: The Beggar;326603As for glowing eyes, unless your character's name is Cyclops (or Phoenix) and an X-man, you are wrong and do not deserve them.

You've gone soft Beggar.  Homo Superior is not the next stage of evolution, but a cancer upon our fair race that should be excised.  Let us join together to rid ourselves of the genejoke mutie scum.

But we can all agree that Tiefling tail is superhawt and Red Bull gives us wings.  We'll discuss this further after our next rally.

Going to agree with the above.  Dredd was the best action movie of 2012, too bad it bombed.

Batman was mediocre.  Everything that made the Dark Knight good was missing.  Christopher Nolan's previously comprehensive understanding of the character of Bruce Wayne was gone, as the character was nowhere near true to form.  The movie had ridiculous plot holes and the villain was nowhere near as interesting as Heath Ledger's joker.....or even Liam Neeson's R'as Al Ghul.

It was actually the weakest movie of the trilogy, and that's saying a lot given the flaws of Batman Begins.

Django Unchained:  Like Inglorious Basterds, if you watch it in a vacuum, then its a really fun movie.  The language reminded me of Deadwood a lot, so I'm not sure why people got so offended over it.

Also I will watch any movie where Christoph Waltz plays a role.(Except the Green Hornet, what was he thinking?)

I vote we just have derf summon a plague of rat familiars on his next PC and waive all PvP rules.

The server would run red with blood, and it wouldn't be rodent blood.

Just to clarify though. If I intend the spice to be an overwhelming potentially party wiping challenge I typically give IC clues. But I don't do this unless they're players I respect, who respect me and the challenge they're receiving and are willing to use OMG supplies beyond the minimum to win. If they win their reward is typically amazing.

I'm not really a fan of alerting people that they're being spiced.  The fact that you act differently when you know there's someone up there controlling them compared to just mechanically crushing a quest you've memorized and mastered is comparable to metagaming, at least in my eyes.  I'd much prefer to reward people who just roll with it, and manage to overcome without foreknowledge.

Look at it this way.  It'd be like having the person who is about to PvP you alert you he's going to do it and ask permission before attacking.  Not quite on that scale perhaps as I'm not attempting to kill you when I spice, just challenge you, but its still something to think about it.

I'll let the other DMs weigh in on it, but that's my own personal viewpoint. My views don't necessarily reflect the collective opinion of the staff, or the rules, so don't take it as such.

I'll try to elaborate a bit.  Shadowdancer is a PRC that is very difficult to get approval for, much less earn it.  I can't recall a single PC that has ever earned it, though we do have a few who have been approved to try and earn it. What we have to be convinced about in every application is that:  A.  Your PC has a unique take on the Shadowdancer class.  And B.  That you will use HiPS in a stylish way that befits the concept.

Here's the reason.  On a low level world like EfU, HiPS is just too strong.  A good enough PvPer would be impossible to defeat and kill with it.  Thus we need to be convinced that we're giving it to someone that won't be just using it to crush someone in PvP or be unkillable.

And then there's C.  Rock out, and show us that your PC is awesome, so that we want you to earn it.  Involve others in your goals.  Take some initiative to do things that don't require a DM to be present.

You all should have seen I_O's PvP before he made a PC just to participate in conflict. He's the perfect before and after example. So I can guarantee that the method does work, it just takes a variable amount of time tailored to the person. I'd be an example too except that girls can't PvP as I'm often told, so anyone I crush is pure luck, and every loss is just my natural state of being.

The Doctor speaks the truth. Now he will use his doctorate in EfU-ology to come up with a more stylish name.

So long as one doesn't act on the knowledge its not metagaming. Like if I note PCs carrying on as normal that's okay, but if I suddenly see them summoning true seeing summons and using amplify, C and C or other spells because they got this hardware cue when before they didn't act different? Yeah I'll ban them. He sent the initial tell though while spying to them asking for IC knowledge first so this is pretty innocuous.

That was nowhere near being hot and steamy enough for its own thread in this forum.

Pazuzu is an Obyrith, not a Baernaloth.  Basically think of them as the first creations of the Baernaloth as prototypes for Tanar'ri.

If we wanna get technical the first of all fiends are the Baernaloth, who created all Tanar'ri, Yugoloth, and Baatezu.  Asmodeus is a likely exception due to his suggested origins.

They're the sort of powerful that even Asmodeus wishes he could be, and basically immune to being destroyed, as they can infect the person who slays them, who then has their soul consumed slowly until they become the Baernaloth.  Or they can create a shield of all the innocent souls their attacker 'knows'.  Which when attacked, not only destroys the innocent souls of the individual the attacker knows, but drives them insane from the knowledge that they killed them, eventually turning them evil and under the Baern's control.

The people who wrote them are seriously messed up individuals.

When I first saw this thread title, I thought it was a cruel internet joke.

Wern8, you were one of the most positive and cheerful people I'd spoken to on this server and I'll have only fond memories of you.

Godspeed.
