Detect evil is lame and ruins intrigue in the sands of intrigue. Paladins can spam detect evil endlessly even the most paranoid user of PFG will be caught off guard or dispelled and exposed. It is absoloutely insane that the most subtle evil PC is exposed by level 4 paladin refusing to quest.


Remove paladins or their absurd detect evil spam or maybe if I want a truly subtle evil concept I will just roll out a neutral aligned PC for my subtle evil concepts. This joke needs to end.

I found the Sandstone college to be a joke institution offering a useless degree. The faculty lacking in instruction and most of my students lacking ambitio. Ironically enough many of the student body of the Sandstone college are very open about being dissidents of the Sultan. There was even Jamileh who pretended to be a Proffeeor utterly unchallenged by the faculty. I was forced to conduct my study of history and archaeology illegally due to me pointing out publicly how inefficient a system is to have only one person responsible for liscenses.

I found most of my colleagues at the Sandstone opposed to the works of Q'tolip with little ambition of their own to actually oppose them. I went deeper into my research and found the true reason for Qtolip's departure from the grand academy and the truth of this schism. Even with my own study of astronomy. In truth the ideals of Bazeel are more touched by faith than actual science. The whims of the priests of the Mother who claim Bazeel to be the true center of the universe is mistaken and not based on knowledge or science at all. In fact my studies show the study of the stars predates the academy of Bazeel by an uncountable number of years. The Magi Izdu wishes us to pursue knowledge not orthodoxy.


With these reasons and a generous offer by Apothar Stern I dropped out of the sandstone college. The academics at the tower of Q'tolip are far superior and I actually have a thesis to defend and proper instructors giving me assignments. I am not paying tuition but am instead paid to conduct my research.

It goes without saying the tower was founded by much greater academics than its most active Apothar. I see these "scholars" both of whom cannot even dig. The only reason they are in the position they are in is the work of much greater scholars before them who unearthed the shade. Their political fumbling is really pathetic to watch. It is truly a wonder how people representing an organization saving everyone's lives does this badly in the eyes of the common man. It is my hope to fill their shoes and lead us a different direction. To leave the Banda to their murder, the legion to continue their king history to fail the Maribid. I have some very important questions about the waters of Ephia's Well that remain unanswered. Given its importance to Ephia's Well I wish to learn what I can as best as I can. Please answer the following ot the best of your ability. I am a simple high dwarf who has lived in this dessert many years before these ash storms and before these powerful waters returned to the well.

1. Why is such a vital resource open to the public? Anyone can come in given how many refugees accept our hospitality and turn to criminality and even worship of the wyrm or the embrace of Djinn why bother leaving the well open?

2. Apothar Mevura of the Astronomers of Qtolip claims a single Brooker jumping in the Well can taint the entire well is such true?

3. What caused the well to be empty and what caused the well to suddenly have water?

4. Is there any ideas or suggestions to add more water to the well?

5. By your calculations how many years will the Well's water last us?

6. Do we run the risk of the Well running dry for multiple generations as it did in the past?

7. I have wandered the dessert and slain a few powerful monsters they had waters of our well that offered better healing than you have available for sale. How can we produce more of the waters of the well of incredible power that are said to truly be ancient?

8. Being a Dwarf I know much water is used to make ale. How much of our Well's water a valuable resource is used to make alchohol and should sobriety be something we consider for the long term survival civilization in the dessert?

9. The Astronomers claim they need water to expand their magical shade. How is the water of Ephia's Well connected with such magical safeguards?

As you have noticed our cells are inefficient in containing Brookers and some wyrm cultists. It is with great anger that the wrath of Umbur was slowed by this Djinn. Radik has escaped my Lawcleaving. Our legal system has been inefficient at prosecuting those responsible for releasing horrific monstrosities.  There have been at least 3 occasions of prisoners outright teleporting away from our cells. No amount of beatings or shackling prevents this teleportation. I see the following solutions to this problem. I encourage and would appreciate you to give your thoughts. I see the following solutions to the dilemma. If you see other solutions that I hade not seen feel free to write back to me.


1. The 4th legion cleans our hands of containing or prosecuting Brookers and necromancers and let such cases solely be handled by the Astronomers. This would mean in these cases the 4th would largely act as auxiliary and muscle. Any of such we apprehend will be transported to your tower and left for you and yours to prosecute. We are a military organization  and it is to my understanding apprehension and safe trial of Brookers is beyond traditional law enforcement. The military response to Brookers is to slay them not entertain trials for them.

2. We at great expense improve our facilities to be able to prevent teleportation to and from our cells. Do you have any estimations as to how much this would cost or what would be required?

3. We reform our laws to make it easier for us to execute Brookers and avoid putting them up for trial or containing them. I see this as the most practical solution to solving this problem. However I know the assembly and I see much idiocy from our legates in implementing such a common sense solution.

4. We continue as is and hope legates exile Brookers who escape our cells with the help of their masters. We then toss the ash and hope as little escapes as possible happen.

5. We alert the Assembly and see what the voices of the well and our elected legates decide

I write you this letter partly to say I warned yeh Letting Ast Ironbanner have any recognition by the government was foolishness. He has used the position of granted to him in foolishness to nearly wage war with another power.  Now in the interest of the security of Ephia's Well the fourth legion poses a question.

Why is it  after the Cinquefoil rose failed to protect or welcome a diplomat by the act of turning them away the Cinquefoil Rose is rewarded with this folly by being responsible for interviewing or appointing an envoy? What is the purpose of this and how does this benefit the Well or guarantee its  safety at all?

You have my assurance Ast Ironbanner will be prosecuted by the fullest extent of the law. I have no love for deep kin but his actions put every man women and child in danger and he is aware of it. These glooms are annoying and ridiculous. The amount of damage they do and frequency they occur means even PCs with a high will save will get stunned. These glooms are so ridiculous I will just drop out of any quest I see them. My party was getting 4 oof them dropped at us at once frequently.  I have no clue if this is a bug or intended to be the most ridiculous gloom.

Any of your students engaging in criminal activity or refusal to be searched or checked for marks will undergo a special college I call Lawcleaving the course where criminals get legally cleaved. Those guilty of capital crimes will undergo a final exam of getting cut down by my famuly's ancesteral blade like Sayyida.

Dear Legate Guivarch

Your security is of paramount importance to the fourth legion. Unfortunately your magistrate Squeev was murdered we are actively pursuing leads. It is the job of the fourth legion to defend your life. I write to you the following suggestions for your own security. Your life may be a game to the Astronomers who falsely warn you of your life being in danger in public they are not games to us. Furthermore  the security of Legates is not the responsibility of the Astronomers at all. You are free to ignore any of their suggestions.

1. Do not go to the Krak De Roses without escort. The Banda Rossa are killers.

2. Always have a seeing spell up and men of the 4th legion around. Use the scribes to conduct bellows and limit meetings to your office.

3. Your Magistrate Lucrecia is well liked by many of your political opponents. I do not think anyone in your league wanting to slay you will weep over her to replace you. Consider a Prelate your opponents absoloutely cannot bare such as the head of the Glaziers or Hrothgar Childkiller. Such a move would no doubt stop many of your opponents in your own league from killing you.

4. Consider appointing a new Magistrate who is not afraid of convicting as you order a man you can simply fire if he makes an unpopular ruling such would have saved your image for the Mari Blacke fiasco.

Over the years of seeing many hilarious cartoonish goons rolled out by DMs over the years I decided to play one en shit. He tried to join the Banda Rossa ended up getting stabbed and told to come back when he was more fearsome. He took that as a message to run around the creep and the gutters robbing people calling himself a "Gutter God." Most people involved either quit or got killed and the Banda Rossa finally gave him a chance.

Overall he may have been too thuggish for Banda Rossa  often lacking in professionalism. He had a serious Halberd envy problem and refused to accept the existence of Halberds bigger than his own. This resulted into an epic 80s movie DM quest to earn weaponmaster and even paying 3000 dinar to destroy a giant Halberd out of pure rage. Unfortunately he got murdered. It was a blast playing him and I hope he proved entertaining.

Be the duty of the dwarves to honor their ancestors stick to the family trade. Every Lawcleaver has been in law enforcement or guard duty of some sort going back to the days of Kulkund. I will not disgrace myself by abandoning my trade.  My kin live in squalor in the Tablet there is nothing to guard or police there. Many of me kin tell me the city is anarchy and that the legion and government are useless for order I disagree. The fourth legion is something, incompetance, corruption, idiocy. I have been following some very stupid orders and in every report noting the idiot who gave me the order to justify why the utterly moronic action was the one I took. This Legate Domhall essentialy declared Brooking legal at his farce of a trial acknowledging all of my accusations were proven correct. These humans know nothing of governance or law.

1. What is the Astronomers opinion on the legal reasoning of Legate Domhall on his verdict?

I was offered compensation if my report of Marcialo was accurate. By written accounts of Nadiri Zain, and your own man Kirgan the evidence was indeed in his warehouse. Sergeant Radislav claimed the one responsible for paying me this bounty is soldier (Now a lowly scarab) Boucher. Upon approaching your recently demoted voiced scarab I must add the combination of voiced toga with the scarab helmet is the funniest thing I have ever seen. Your scarab claimed the ones responsible for paying me were one of you two and that it isnt in his hands contradicting his officer. Leaving me to wonder who is paying me? It would be a shame if I have to insist on a written contract for any time I have useful information. I may even consider reserving such information for other parties in the future.

I know it is your job to order legates around and tell them when they screw up so I write this to you. For reasons I cannot explain Legate Marcellus is an intermediate between the fourth legion and the Astronomers for a key to the deep Gutters of all places. These two parties have such little trust in each other they have called upon the Legate to join them in these ventures to the deeper gutters involving him arriving late to a scheduled Assembly. I feel it is time for an adult to step into this situation it is something of a joke and something a Legate does not need to even partake in. Not to mention in order to assemble the key negotiations had to be done with Pra'raji and Orentid rats that a Legate passes through such places or has a key associated with such peoples is absurd.

Today's recent trial has shown Ephia's well the absurdity of a Legate holding such a key. I think the consulate or the legion should be holding such a key ideally in reserve for special missions not a legate.  Or the Astronomers and legion should work this out amongst themselves and not involve a legate in this or appoint some other intermediate.  For a price even the Banda Rossa could be the intermediate between these two parties.

Have some NPCS that give quests with dialogue give PCS the option to persuade bluff/intimidate check for a greater reward. Have them all spawn in the Krak, Creep, Khaesh, Qadira ETC. I miss quest giver NPCS also remove the add tool.
