Journals and Musings / Amber Highsun Journal
May 14, 2024, 02:48:45 PM
A worn and tattered journal, the leather covered splashed with various shades of black ink with numerous finger prints about the still supple cover. Inside are the contents of a young woman and tattoo artist's thoughts, feelings, goals, and drawings. Perhaps you shouldn't be peering into the private life of the woman, but a peek couldn't hurt, right?

Page 1 - Date: Unknown

We've travelled for days! The sun and unrelenting heat are almost to much to bare. Marc says we are getting close to a fortified outpost in the wastes, but I've watched them all nervously talk amongst themselves in hushed tones for several nights. My lips are parched, my tummy grumbles, and my body aches. Mom says as long as we stay with Marc we will be ok and we should have nothing to fear.

It feels more dangerous every night. I'll try not to worry, I'll try to be strong for mom, but even if Marc was dad's most trusted friend, I don't trust him now.

Greetings Voiced & Unvoiced of Ephias Well!

The Office of Voiced Affairs is proud to announce the formation of the Clerk of Population Census, Scribe Petro Anders.

What is the Census?

The Census is being put into place in order to track the growing needs of Ephias Well Voiced and Unvoiced inhabitants. As our population grows, so do its needs, and its responsibilities to provide adequate protection, charitable support, and equal opportunities to thrive within the community.

How can you help complete the Census?

There is a questionnaire in place and with this questionnaire we are able to collect the data required to see our community grow and flourish. We ask you to answer the questionnaire to the best of your abilities. We understand there may be some barriers to you completing a questionnaire, but Scribe Petro Anders is there to assist through the process. Schedule a time to meet with him and he will take down your answers and get you set up as one the proud Voiced and Unvoiced to have contributed to the cities growth and development.

How is the data going to be used?

That is a great question! The census data will allow us to identify the needs of the community and how we can address them through the Assembly and Budget. Many of you are skilled in a trade and we would like to see our trade workers flourish in Ephias Well as we can direct the budget to assist in craftsmen and skilled builders in refortifying the walls of Ephias Well and expanding beyond. This is just one example on how the census will allow the people to have opportunities outside of joining some mercenary group or devoting themselves to an organization.

What are the questions the Census will be asking?

Much of this information has already been provided when you were issued your chips, but we will need to ask you the more mundane questions such as: Name, Alias, Birth date, Male or Female, Race, Skills, and Past and Current trade. Other questions will help us estimate the needs of the City, such as: Skills, Past and Current Trade, League Affiliation, Organization Affiliation, Estimated weekly income, Estimated monthly income, Properties owned, Brief description of self, and request.

What if you do not want to participate in the Census?

I am sorry you do not want to participate but there is a way for you to avoid submitting the requested information. First, contact Scribe Petro Anders, he will be able to sit down and provide you with the available options to refuse participation or to omit certain questions of the Census.

Can I complete the Census with another Scribe?

At this time, no. Scribe Petro Anders will be providing training to the other Scribes in due time, and once they are ready to collect data we will announce which Scribes are available to collect Census data. Until then, please see all questions and concerns sent to Scribe Petro Anders.

From the Halls of Governance, the Office of Population Census, and the Scribes of Sublime Garden, we thank you the Voiced & Unvoiced of Ephias Well for providing the information needed for us to grow as a community!

Correspondence / Letter to Isabella
April 20, 2023, 12:58:20 AM
[A simple letter, tied closed with bit of green yarn with a drip of candle wax to seal the letter with a symbol of a serpent pressed into it.]

Dearest Isabella,

It has been some time since we last spoke, and I hope this letter finds you well in good health. My research into the native species of serpents has kept me away from the Well for several weeks, and I have found a small following who share my same interests. It is likely best I retire from the heroic adventures of the past, and look towards other avenues of renown amidst the vast desert wastes. Sadly, the Cult of Bashmu has made the Well a hostile place for a snake charmer despite my status as a voiced citizen.

Out here in the desert, I feel free, and happy. Although, Zsa Zsa did grow accustom to the easy prey of mice found within the walls of the Well, I feel she is happier travelling. My research on the Arrowhead Viper is nearing its conclusion, and should I return to the Well, I will publish my finding for all to read.  Now, my companions and I turn are direction to the Jungles of Hufaidh. We've heard of a rare breed of python which lurks in pools of water deep within the jungles known to reach the length of four stonefolk stacked on top of one another. It is rather exciting to learn of such a species, and I look forward to researching it.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Ellanher, and I hope that is recovery is swift. If I remember correctly the curse had done considerable damage to him. I wish you the best, Isabella.

Your loving adopted son & snake,

Petro & Zsa Zsa

Suggestions / Sorcerer Perk - Snake Charmer
February 15, 2023, 01:06:01 AM
Hello,

I was reviewing the Snake Charmer perk for sorcerers, and I noticed a level 8 buff:

Quote from: EFUWikiWhen a summoned snake kills an enemy, both the snake and sorcerer are healed by additional 2d4 points, and then receive the following effects:

* Vermin: Immunity to Poison, Immunity to Disease

The level 8 perk already gives you Immunity to Poison,  so maybe we can have something else +1 to AC and immunity to disease?

Thank you,

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Offran Salt is Totally Dead.
November 01, 2022, 08:02:03 AM
Background: Offran Salt, he was a bastard's son raised by foster parents in the steadings. Two individuals who nothing of giving the baby any care or love. In his early years he was treated as an after thought, and was left untended till his crying would not cease, then fed alcohol to make him sleep. In his teens, regular beatings for not doing exactly as his parents told him, or getting into an assorted fights with Winespills and other children left him with a face blunted by fists, knees, and boots (CHA 8, but ranks in Intimidate). As he grew, he learned sometimes you didn't have to fight fair, and there were other ways to get even. Catching vipers or picking harmful herbs worked for either weakening his enemies so they could be brought down easier. He became more or less a thug who wanted to be an authority with real power.

He initially tried to join House Moonspear, seeing the House as bringing the Ward back under the rule of proper and respectable humans. Father Ishmael directed him to join the Blackjacks, he felt defeated at first, but leaned into what a Blackjack was in this time. He forged documents calling them the Amended/Revised Laws of the King's Militia, and used those to quickly fill his pockets with groat.  He did really good working as intelligence, and would use his bribes as a way to snitch on people up to no good. He was always still a hot head, and once he felt he had someone around the throat he didn't let go because he was 'right'. This led to his end.

Inspiration: I tried to model the character after Negan from the Walking Dead Comic/Show, but I don't  think I ever made it there. Perhaps it was more Negan before he was able to grab power, and act like a manic. I also wanted to create a legit police force in the Ward, and move the Blackjacks to the frontlines of the battlefields against the Count and Nothing. Sadly, that goal failed. The laws post was just something really fun, and I hope it gives players a reason to play Blackjacks more, and a reason to collect that groat!

DrD, thanks for the fun direction, I had a great time. Big thank you to Empress of Neon, the character interactions were always hilarious all the way up to the end. If I missed anyone, sorry.

Offran Salt was a very short lived character so off to the next one. Cheers!

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Little Leaf is Dead
October 06, 2022, 05:56:55 AM

LIttle Leaf's history: Raised among the Pond Dwellers, Little Leaf has always seen more aloof then the other children. Granted, she has always looked a bit different from the other children with slightly pointed ears, green tinged hair, pale skin, and golden irises (sorry, I pulled the app for the character appearance changes, she did actually have those). Often she would be found talking to her imaginary friends in a tree, in the pond, in a badger hole, or hiding in the small hut she lived in with her parents. She was nicknamed Little Leaf by the Old Ponds Caretaker long ago before he disappeared, but most people know her as Fiona. There are also those who know her Sylvan name, Lassiel Silivithenniel, translated as Little White Leaf on the Wind. Today the voices of Pzatharun speak to her, and help direct their divine will.

Thank you, Bearic for tolerating my PMs, ideas, and everything else, I jest. I really appreciated what you did for the character early on, and giving her some unique perks and insights. Glyph, the relationship between Little Leaf and Solomyn is something I cherish so much, and you are also the best partner to quest with. Diablo, thank you for tolerating Little Leaf's quirks and lack of insight, but also giving the character a view into the plots and schemes of others. VP, my god how you tolerated the character as Valmoira, and I thank you for not killing her early on. I have no idea what you would have done to her if Winter prevailed, but it would have been interesting.  If I missed someone from the Winter Crew (Guzz, Jaxx, Ivyndr, etc...) thank you for letting Little Leaf ride along.  Merrychase for letting Little Leaf in even after she immediately threw it back in your face, I wish we could have more interactions. If I forgot you or didn't mention you here, please know you affected the character greatly, positive and negative, there was change in how she approached things.  Oh my god! I almost forgot someone very dear! Oda! I was always excited OOC and IG when I saw her roaming around because I knew we would have some wild adventures.

Was Little Leaf a part of the Summer Court, yes and no, she never had any interaction with any of the NPCs of the Official Summer Court, and she only met one Summer Court PC, who retired shortly afterwards.

Little Leaf was aware the Summer Court required blood, for what I don't know, but she did get some blood through PvP, Hijinks, and good old persuasion.

Little Leaf was a changeling in the loosest of terms, but yes, she was.

Did she have plans to get some Velstra retainers drunk, and have them drink polymoprhing potions to turn themselves into a deer, Yes. Was she planning on having Orza hunt those deer, and then cook and eat them, yes. Did it actually happen, I made several sendings about Orza eating deer-humans.

Were there some Summer Court plans in the future, perhaps, but you'll have to see who takes the lead from here on out.

[hide=Summer Fey Rituals & Prayers]She was always busy trying to spread the word.

[/hide]

[hide=The moment where one little push would have changed a lot of things, j/k] After getting to know Haggahwhisp, Little Leaf had a lot of trust in him, and felt that he would have her back in some things. Even if it was an utter failure.
[/hide]

[hide=The End] I'm actually very proud of this character's ability to withstand some brutal PvP. I honestly thought I had a chance against DrD, and toe to toe it was a lot of fun to burn through that many potions. That's it for Little Leaf.

Hello everyone,

Considering the recent increase in conflict, and also the IC use of certain aspects of character. I feel I need to clarify something.

There are less then a handful of characters that know the characters real name. The majority of these characters hardly, if ever, use her real name in public, and most of them know her commonly known as Little Leaf, and maybe as Fiona among some of the Peerage Ward.

As for as her alliances, FOIG

Hello folks, yeah its a death thread, and yes... that bitch is dead.

History: Luna Wintergard was born into a life of serfdom in the Vineyards of House Velstra as all of her family members before her. Luna's father was a proud servant of House Velstra, and took a great amount of pride in the grapes he raised for his Lord. Luna's mother similarly toiled in the vineyards with her husband, the two had a truly loving marriage, and cared deeply for their children. Luna had four siblings, two brothers, Arnold and Wyatt, twins at birth and some would say had a reddish tint to their hair. A baby sister named, Mary Anne, roughly a year old, but we all know time keeping is illegal. A loyal family to House Velstra, who never wanted for anything, and provided House Velstra with devotion and loyalty.

Sadly, when the ghylherd came, they burned the vineyards and fields of those that served the Great Houses, and House Velstra was to late to the defense. Luna's father and brother put up a good fight, but none of them were warriors. Luna's mother died, not from a sweeping blade, or a crushing hammer, but from the overwhelming fear of the end. Luna tried to escape, taking her baby sister, and crawling out a window. She didn't make it far before they found her with a weeping baby in her arms. Several days of savage torture Luna endured, being broken first by the Ghylherd eating her baby sister, and then taking to Luna heinous crimes of pure evil. How did Luna survive, she never figured that out, and considered it one of life's greatest mysteries. She does remember waking up in the Glum with several other refugees.

Life as a refugee in Little Ticker wasn't easy, and Luna took quick to learning how to survive off the cut purses of Blackjacks, Merchants, Retainers, and Nobles. She knew her time pulling off petty crimes would catch up to her sooner or later. It was then she thought about casing the House Velstra, and wandered into the Vale. She smelled the wine and food, and couldn't help herself. She pilfered everything she could while stuffing her face with leftovers. Then from an open gate, Ser Adrian Velstra walks out, and Luna's heart sank. By luck or fate, Luna was -encouraged- to join House Velstra, and was even promised to be taught how to be a lady by Ser Adrian's current betrothed, Lady Rochelle Rhaechard. The idea of being taught proper, and becoming a real Lady of the Peerage Ward was way to enticing to turn down.

Again, luck and fate, Xiv stepped in to murder poor Lady Rhaechard removing any chance of Luna ever becoming a Lady of the Peerage Ward. Granted, its not like Luna didn't try reaching out to others to help, but help wasn't going to come. At least no help in making her a "lady".

Luna decided to seek the attentions of men, specifically knighted and dangerous men, Ser Adrian Velstra, Ser Manferd Japes, and Xiv the Assassin. None of those men were interested in love, or helping Luna advance her way to becoming a Lady of the Peerage Ward. Xiv became more a pen pal, and psychotic mentor.

Luna adventured for a long time, until she hit level eight, and Ser Adrian encouraged her to really pursue being the House Merchant. Luna made a deal with Ser Adrian to be the Manager of the Blacke Velvet, and earn 10% ownership. In the end, Luna was 60k away from having ten percent ownership of the Blacke Velvet, and it was by far her favorite title. The story changes and picks up from here, and there were many adventures, plots, schemes, and dreams.

Truths & Lies:

Truth: Luna never drank hard alcohol, she feared that it would dull her senses, and having her senses dulled reminded her of the time when suffered at the hands of the ghylherd.

Lies: Luna wanted people to believe she was some deviant harlot, and played the part as hard as she could. She really wanted to be a lady of the ward, but the ward wouldn't let her.

Truth: Luna saw the ghylhard and mongrels as the same thing, and they honestly made her have panic attacks or fly into a blind rage for survival.

Lies: Luna was never truly loyal to House Velstra, she was loyal to those she called family and to herself. She always dreamed of robbing House Velstra blind.

Truth: Luna was sad about her missing leg, but she owned the shit out of it. It became a major piece of who she was, and despite how others wanted her to get a "new" leg, she couldn't have been more proud of it.

Lies: Luna was not a stingy merchant, and would often give away groat to those in need. Hells, sometimes without calling it a loan.

Truth: Luna would've killed Lalena and Diethard in their sleep, but Lalena was family, and she could forgive Lalena for stealing her heart's desire.

Truth: Luna main goal was to always achieve power, control, and dominance in the Peerage Ward, but she wanted to do it by building a new thieves guild from within the Blacke Velvet. Unfortunately, it never took shape, mainly because Luna didn't know the first thing about creating or working for a guild.

Truth: Luna had no Appraise ranks, not until the very end, so she would set her prices high and wait for someone to counter and immediately take the offer. Occasionally, she was ballsy enough to counter the first offer, but that was a rarity. It wasn't until way later she became a confident merchant.

Truth: Luna had a soft spot for halflings, even if she wanted Xiv to kill a few.

Truth: The Flame of Greed was her justification to become even more greedy and evil. In the end, she was becoming just as weak as she saw others to be.

Truth: The Unseen Hand may still linger... pilfering the pockets all those around.

Truth: Luna gave the Vunco Valiants the rights to pick pocket or rob anyone in the Blacke Velvet. She would have protected to a degree.

Truth: Luna told one PC the entire truth about her penpal affair with Xiv because she had taken a vow of silence. Luna was absolutely delighted to share this information with someone, and was absolutely thankful that she would never tell a soul.

I wasn't good at getting screen shot for Luna, and the few I do have are to good not to share.

I would like to think Abala, YMD, Baeric, Arc, BOM, Halfbrood, and every other DM that may have affected Luna's growth. To the players There are so many of you (94hippie, Ramc, Stranger, Scitus, Flamingfist, Heirophant, dtw, VanillaPudding, Diablo, Karpie, Naga, and many many more! I owe a gigantic thank you too!) that have shaped Luna in so many ways, I could keep writing and writing about it forever. You all know in some form or fashion what you did to make Luna shine, and for that I am greatful to you. Thank you for letting her be apart of your story.

Sadly, I didn't get any screen shots of her DM Loot, but its safe to say she had four pieces. One was a christmas gift from HB, One from the Feast of Folly, One from the Yucky Lucky Event, and one from Arc's event, the Flame of Greed!

Blacke Velvet Wintergard Management

The Blacke Velvet echoes with cheers, celebration, and copious amounts of alcohol. Merchants finalize lucrative deals with a hand shake and toast. Waiters and waitresses flirt with patrons with a liar's wink and smile. Bards sing bawdy tales throughout the night as groats fill their cups. Gamblers cry out, the inevitable loss of every groat in their purse being witnessed in one hand. The gladiator pits echo thunderous cheer as blood pools around victor's boots as the loser lies dead and defeated. Shadowy figures move silently throughout patrons on the edges of the dim purple glow not a sound from the leather boots heard above the ruckus of the crowd, a purse grows lighter. Some retainers cheer, and drink to the defeat of foes beyond the ward, but others raise a toast to those lost in defeat. Life of the Ward revolves around the Blacke Velvet drawing regular patrons and visitors alike through its doors to drown their sorrows or raise their spirits no matter the reason for their visit the Blacke Velvet collects its share.

Introducing Wintergard Management, the Blacke Velvet needs a boost, and Wintergard Management is looking for entrepreneurial individuals who can step in and take hold of key aspects of the Blacke Velvet business. Ideally, Luna Wintergard will act as a support to establish, legitimize, and provide authority to act on behalf of House Velstra within the Blacke Velvet if you are choosing to not join the House as an independent contractor. This provides an opportunity to create storylines with one of the most notable hubs in CoA, and allow for your own creative process which will be largely independent.

Possible Positions/Character Concepts

Gladiator Games Host, this job would require a PC to begin hosting gladiator games in the pit below the Blacke Velvet. You would be in charge of scheduling, marketing, running, collecting payments, and providing prizes (Luna can support with the last one). This is fully a self starter with a patron that is willing to fund your process to get started.

Sommelier/Spirits Brewer/Cook, this is a job where you could expand the list of available drink and food options at the Blacke Velvet. You could even create your own signature drink or food dish (likely with an app). If your desire is to have an interesting roleplay that revolves around drinking alcohol, eating food, and selling potions this might be a good fit.

Wait Staff/Bouncers, this job is support for those hosting gladiator games, gambling tournaments, performances, or protection for VIP visitors.

Orators/Musicians, this job is for a player to draw crowds to the Blacke Velvet and promote upcoming events.

Master of Games, this job is to run gambling events where in the end, the House always wins, and the winners leave with a modest prize. It's really up to the player on how they would like to run the gambling events.

The above are just a few ideas, but you can always come up with your own.

Now, the truth is Wintergard Management is a front to help set up the Blacke Velvet as the hub for an unknown/unnamed criminal organization. The organization is meant to be a group capable of blending in with the nobility of the Ward to seem as innocuous as possible in order to not draw suspicions to what is really occurring behind the screen. If this is something that interests you, please feel free to message me on Discord, and we can talk over your ideas or if you want to clarify something.

"Do you hear the call? The horn of the Eternal Hunt summons forth it's hunters and huntresses to give way to their instincts, and hunt that which they seek! Come join the Eternal Hunt, and bring low your prey!"   -Anonymous

The Eternal Hunt is a concept with beliefs steeped in beliefs of obtaining your desires, wants, and needs which are considered your prey. We are the hunters and huntresses stalking our prey at every twist and turn of the trail preparing to strike down our prey, and collect our prize. The Eternal Hunt is not wanton violence, or reckless killing for the sake of destruction, but a calculated and practiced method of obtaining one's goals through efficient machinations outcomes benefitting the hunter and huntress.

The Eternal hunt can be the hunt for knowledge which is elusive, an ancient beast, or for a throne. The Eternal Hunt can be anything a character is actively trying to hunt down and make their by acquiring knowledge, insight, or power.

This does not mean a follower cannot give into base temptations and zealously revel in the more primitive aspect of the Eternal Hunt, but this is slightly addressed in the faith's tenants.

Faith Tenets:
Eternal is the Hunt, it has no beginning, no ending,
Eternal is the Hunt, the hunter must be ever present and prepared,
Eternal is the Hunt, all things are weak, and weakness must be culled,
Eternal is the Hunt, the hunter stalks their prey with emotionless precision,
Eternal is the Hunt, a kill must be swift as the prey must never know the moment of their death,
Eternal is the Hunt, honor your kill, their death makes you a stronger hunter,
Eternal is the Hunt, temper the bloodlust of the hunter lest you become the feast,
Eternal is the Hunt, remember you too will one day become prey, and you will be delivered to the Eternal Hunt.

The faith of the Eternal Hunt encourages its members to hunt one another to establish prowess and reconnection of a skillful and successful hunter or huntress. They are not required to cull the members as this would destabilize the faith with the continued loss of its faithful, but this does not exclude the possibility of death. If a faithful hunter or huntress has been marked (brought low by a successful hunter or huntress) three times then on the third time the hunter or huntress may sacrifice (cull the weak) to the Eternal Hunt. It is a great honor to be sacrificed by a faithful, and should be treated as a glorious moment where one will take their place among the Eternal Hunt.

Hunting non-members of the Eternal Hunt is encouraged, but it is up to the individual as to whether or not they will bestow the honor of being marked or just culled immediately.

There is no established hierarchy in the faith, but many regard a priest or priestess as the divine conduit to the Eternal Hunt. In this the priest or priestess is respected in their guidance, religious prayers, and sacred rituals.

There is no established deity for this faith, and whoever or whatever is answering the calls for divine assistance is up to the powers-that-be.

//OOC: My hopes are this gives players the opportunity to practice PvP (especially for those of us that aren't that great at it) with a little less fear of being FD'd or maimed IC, but still have ongoing consequences within the faith. Granted, you are still beholden to -all- PvP rules and practices, and may be subjected to be FD'd if you hunt someone outside of the faith.

Recommended Class: No Paladin
Alignment: No Lawful Good, No Chaotic Evil
Race: Any, Humans highly recommended

Sadly, Isaiah Bhalmont is dead. I had a lot of fun, and heart ache with this character. Unfortunately, I never really got to achieve what I wanted to do with the character.  I thought I could turn it around, and start achieving some things with Isaiah, but every time I logged on it got more difficult to want to play the character.

Scitus, thank you for taking me on the wild ride of the Lightwardens. I had an awesome time!
RwG, sorry House Parias didn't take off like we wanted, but it was truly a lot of fun!
Vlaid, thank you for challenging Isaiah's views on the Promise, and making him a more interesting character as he evolved.
Morphine and Lock, thank you for bringing me into the Outringers 99, and I'm sorry for leaving. :(

Honestly there are so many players that made an impact on Isaiah, be it the loathing of Malik, Aatish, and Ilkav, or the curious infatuation of Aiobhinn. Everyone on the server made Isaiah so much fun to play, but it started to feel like Isaiah was breaking some of his own rules.

It may not have the death I wanted, but its the death that needed to happen in my mind. Cheers to all! See you with my next PC!

Here is the brief history I wrote for the character:

QuoteBorn among the poor of Ticker Square, he grew quickly to help support his family. Through times were challenging, the family began to prosper, and at one time owing their own home. Never worrying about having to find space at the Glumdrum, or where their next meal would come from. His father crafted small statues from wood, stone, or clay to sell in the open market. His mother caught the attention of Madam Webber when walking by one day as she wove a fishing net. Soon my mother began working for Madam Webber, and our worries faded away for a time. Unfortunately, the Ticker Square held its fair share of drama. Father passed away suddenly from illness, and mother died in the fire that brought the Weavers Guild down.

I began seeking answers to the woes that plagued my heart and mind, and a priest of the Promise, Father Summerset, found me at the Open Door wallowing in my own pain and grief. He became a mentor, teacher, and friend.

A love triangle that would end up breaking Isaiah's heart a hundred times over. He truly loved both of them, and only wanted to serve them both to the best of his ability.
[hide][/hide]

A dark teacher, Madrick the Shade of Sunpurse, is someone Isaiah wanted to follow, but feared the path Madrick would lead him down if he should decide too.
[hide][/hide]

Madrick approaches the Lightwardens with a tantalizing option to deal with a person who has been killing us off one by one. Weirdly enough it starts with throwing that person a party.
[hide][/hide]

Sadly, Cathy was one of our Lightwardens wanting to follow in the footsteps of her mentor Frobo. Following her death was many dark dealings, and a friendship struck between a Lightwarden and Changeling. This Friendship would lead to Isaiah being named a Greenwarden for a very small amount of time.
[hide][/hide]

One of the many talks Isaiah and Percy shared. Isaiah wanted so much to teach Percy a better way then the Auld Tradition of the Peerage Ward.
[hide][/hide]

Attempting to convince the Lightwardens to join House Parias was a difficult task, and would lead to some very heartbreaking RPing.

Isaiah says goodbye to the one person he truly loved. Watching her being cut down and then Orza Retainers surrounding her like vultures was to much for Isaiah to handle in the moment. Isaiah had one final task, and that was to place Cona on a pyre high in the mountains. Isaiah would also think about leaping from the highest peak to his death.... but that didn't happen.

An evening talk with little miss creepy eyes... so weird.

After the fall of the House of Parias and Lightwardens, Isaiah tried to start up a Gentlemen's Boxing League. It brought a couple of people to the league, but not enough to have fights yet. Isaiah would test each person out, and determine who he would put them up against. Isaiah was pretty sure, Axel would take the tournament in the battle of champions, but I couldn't know for sure. This also got him to join the Outringers 99, and sadly I have no screenies of our adventures. One last shot of Isaiah "Golden Boy" Bhalmont!

At 1347 hours PST, the Spotty Peerage Brat quest was missing its second transition into the quest area where the coins, scavenge, and monster is typically located. I logged in an out twice, and  nothing changed.

Not certain if anyone else has experienced this either.

Thank you.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Orion Hawkhall

Wow! An extremely short lived character, but it was a blast!

I created Orion to get back into doing politics with the Houses, and begin shaping the Lesser Houses to do my bidding. He started with grabbing a sling and stones from the charity box, and running into battle the Ghyl in the Steading. There he saw Sunpurse, Orza, Giovanni, and many others battling the Ghyl to save the Steading. Embolden by watching heroes fighting the good fight, Orion wanted a piece of the action. He made a sending to have the Houses battle over him, he was extremely narcistic and passive aggressive initially, and felt belittled when he was ordered to bring Sunpurse a key for 97. He took the easy way out to get the key, and this would be his M.O. for everything in the future.

Sadly, Orion's breeches were a bit to big in the end, and he bit off way more then he could chew. I knew with my build, level, and supplies, I couldn't win the duel. I was hoping to setup something to lure people to be more inclined to distrust the new arrivals and be more likely to join the Count's cause. After his defeat, and being dragged off by his ear, and knowing full well he would face the wrath of the Count and his Rubies. He knew he had to make good, and assassinating the false messiah, a bringer of the King's message and food.

I couldn't have imagined the fallout, but it was all worth it! He went down in a blaze of glory for the Count!

I never got to upload his Character Portrait, and I only have two screen shots, both from today.

Here is his portrait

An ominous omen of things to come, in the very same day.

Here in the Fugue! Good luck to everyone else!

Sadly, Retainer Sylar Eras is no more. I really, really hate how things ended with this character, but choices were made. Hindsight being as it is, I should have never gone for the prize offered in the Feast of Folly because it was utterly useless to Sylar, and I don't believe the prize has been useful to anyone else that has held it. It was also a really freaking cool prize though.

Sylar Eras was born in Ring 100 to a fishmonger family, and his father was a piece of work. Sylar's father was bitten by a vampire, and his father took everything the family owned seeking out a witch to cure him. Unfortunately, the potion only sped up the change process, and without the coin to hire a priest Sylar's father rose to take the rest of the family.

Why wasn't Sylar taken too, Sylar was a pretty and youthful lad, and took to pandering to earn groat. Sylar was preoccupied with client's the night his father murdered his whole family. Sadly, several of the other family members were turned, and ran off with their father into the depths of the Rings. Sylar vowed he would hunt the undead and changelings.

Joining House Sunpurse was an interesting decision, considering he was invited to House Glitt, but Sylar saw something in House Sunpurse no other house could offer, power. I never intended Sylar to take over being on the Council of Peers, even if it was through Ruth Frost, but he started to lean into it heavily. My favorite time was when I talked everyone down from murdering the Lancers, and just having Miriam punished for some crappy decisions. The rest was done with Ruth and I having lengthy discussions about how things should proceed, and stalling the tournament of the banner for as long as possible.

The Feast of Folly was Sylar's downfall, and role playing a 90-year-old man with severe health problems was fairly fun, but the fun faded really fast when it was extremely difficult to do any type of questing. So for reasons I won't share, it was Sylar's time to die.

Thank you everyone involved with Sylar's story, you know who you are, I'm sorry it ended.

I've collected some screen shots of some moments in Sylar's life, enjoy.

This was one of Sylar's first DM events, and it haunted Sylar for a really long time. Also, Sylar would have followed Gwynn anywhere.

Sylar and his trusted panther, Midnight.

Saying goodbye to Dani, what a wonderful character to interact with.

Dani's funeral

Sylar scratching his name on a pillar on Silverpeak

Council of Peers fun, Sylar silently whispering to Ruth how to proceed.

Ruth and Sylar having one of their many Council of Peers meetings, and learning how she survived the Ghylherd attack.

Sylar's recovery...

Being found in horrible shape, Kentin and Tarn rescue me. I wish I could have interacted with them even more.

A Clandestine meeting of two of the King's men. So much fun, sadly it all fizzled.

Sylar being given his last rites, and being anointed by Tarn of the Nine Faced God. Sadly this act would pretty much doom Sylar, but save his soul in the end.

A taste of the surgery Redmond performed, and how Sylar endured surprisingly well.
