What was it with Varlam Nikitovich being a living clerk in the HoG for all of EfU:R? I'm absolutely certain he suicided by poison publically in EfU1.

As much as I would like to say it was some kind of complex scheme involving a thrall from Intryzz, Netherese Seers Scheming to control the End, the grasping intrigue of a pickled Tube Woman..... really, it was just purely an OOC oversight, I had forgotten he had died. I liked the PC and just wanted to have a little homage to a really nice old HOG clerk PC and have him as a NPC hanging around.

I think I like this answer best of any of the possible ones anyway, <3 for the old clerks.

Character created earlier same day, no prelude, used the "sanctuary" special start portal, spawn point set to the Crone.


Died to a worg in the crossroad caverns at lvl 3. When respawning chose the option "Yes, return my corpse to life, in a safe place, away from others [Cave near the main gate]". This returned me to life just outside the gates of nebezzdos on ymph (next to the graves of L'aisa Rowan and Conrad de Sonnac). I was also stripped of all belongings, the pack dropping where I died, despite being lvl 3 when respawning. Respawning to Ymph also brought the added bonus of the Withering.

I guess my most iconic PC was Riddle back in the first chapter.


I had just learned persuade/bluff/intimidate was something useful and decided to focus on it entirely. I wanted to play the guy behind the scenes, and found a God with a suitable dogma for his creation. It was probably a year later before I realized Gargauth usually had more of a cultist background to his followers, but how was I to know?


Just after Riddle's creation ScottyB's archivist Varlam Nikitovich (long live his memory) advertised a few civil service clerk positions available and Riddle became the Notary clerk of last wills of testaments, henceforth spending a year and a half on government salary noting down people's last wishes, chasing their beneficiaries to force loot and gold on them and, most importantly, making sure Disco's megalomaniac gnome #69948 got a statue to be remembered by after his death.


From what I've heard some of Riddle's paperwork can still be found ic in the house of government, though for these years of EfU:R I've not been able to find myself in a position to see it.


What happened to the Gargauthian part? Since I guess this is no longer too much foig; the most overt part was hiring a lower thug to assassinate some councillor aspirant so Riddle's buddies could be reelected. Canzah's lower4lyfe missed the shot and fled with the money, but who cares when the right guy won the election anyway.

If I'm not mistaken I think the purpose of the original suggestion for the letters to npcs subform was just to separate them from the pc letters to dms would notice them easier - but then it was sidetracked to its current form?

There's a small area shaped like a lower-case b on the east middle part of the map of the area Sanctuary - Tunnels. This area is accessed by a secret hatchway and there are two tents behind a locked  and pickable door in the area. Seems like a suitable place for a spawn point?

Also it's bound in human skin but that should go without saying!

News: Cantenna is good, but might not be good enough to play. Will try to figure something out to be able to play.

I've just moved and have hence been a bit sparse, and will continue to be so for some time. Also had some trouble with internet connection at new place, not sure if I got enough reception to play at all.

Pringles cantenna actually works, though. Much better with than without.

I'm currently getting the xp tick as a lvl 6 watcher, so may well be that.
