So after a few years of only occasionally checking in with the odd character but not really getting into things I've decided to come back to this wonderful server.  After a good day of gameplay with my newest character I feel like I'll be here to stay for a while.

So yeah, left for a while.

I'm back now.

When I left I was being more than a little unpleasant to some people, those who did not deserve such treatment.  Mostly I was just whining to the people who tolerated me the most.  I'm sorry for those of you who had to put up with that, I was just being a poor sport.

In fact I realized what a jerk I was being, I figured I should leave before I did something extra stupid/mean.

And on top of that I was getting a little sick of 3.0 DnD.  It's fun and all but some parts of the game I just had to disagree with.  So I tried other games (and other DnD versions).  While away I tried DnD 2.0 (haven't played it since my brother brought home those archaic books) it was kind of fun.  I tried 3.5, that was also kind of cool.  Then I tired 4.0, it had some things that were nice about it but not enough.  Then I went for other games entirely, World of Darkness for example.  And after playing other RPGs in my spare time I realized something, if I don't like them so much why not make my own?  So now I have a work in progress, it's coming along great and anyone can PM me about it if they are curious about it.

While away I also tried other servers before I had dumped NWN entirely.  They were nice, they had features I wish this server had.  But this server still towered over them in the awesome-o-meter.

But, after trying other servers, other RPGs, something other than board games and video games all together (like life, it's also nice but I can only make one character), I came back to EfU:A.

And as I was about to log on for the first time in a while I thought to myself, I didn't give one of my characters a good chance at being played out to their fullest.  So, he was still on the server and I played him.  I'll be going by the Player Name Blewt until I feel I have effectively played my character to a good end.  When that character has finished to my satisfaction I will play again as Lansert.

Look forward to the RP to come.

Quote from: Verybigliar;136356What is this one step rule?

The one step rule is that when making a cleric your alignment must be within "one step" of your deity's alignment.  For example a god that is True Neutral would normally allow NG, LN, CN, TN, and NE alignments in its clerics.  While a Lawful Evil god would only allow NE, LE, and LN clerics.

But as Thomas pointed out, this is not always the case.

The part where the DMs materialize 10,000 gold to be devided evenly by the party.  Or did you want real spice?

In reality I always love it when they posses NPCs so we can RP with them, always fun.

Fools!  Now you can weep at the insignificance of your puny empires!  The whole of creation laughs at you!  And by the time you know it's laughing at you your sun will have turned into ash and background radiation!  Weep I say!

Some patrons however do not mix.  A follower of Tyr would not offer prayers to Beshaba but instead Tymora for luck.  They both have the same domain (luck) but they offer two entirely different influences on that domain.  You would not want to give Beshaba power by offering her a prayer and encouraging her misuse of the domain.

Maybe if you were of one of the neutral alignment you might, if only to turn her wrath away from you and on to another in exchange for giving her slight power.  But a good person would not give power to an evil being in exchange for turning said being's wrath on another person.  Sounds evil to me.

But, just because you do not care for a domain or deity, do not like it, or even are opposed to it, you do not have to go about cursing them because you are not offering prayer.  Lack of prayer is not the opposite of prayer, it is the absence.

Quote from: PanamaLane;116683I guess I'm just a political junkie. I love elections, listening to speeches, etc. In fact, for me that's the best part, because once people get into office, all too often they let you down.

An obsession with political speeches?  You?  I could not tell based on your signature.

Though I agree, I liked some of the speeches too.

Always liked the idea that players could run for an office with so much power.

Of course this power was nothing compared to the great gods of Spellguard!  All hail our overlords!  Long live their spells!

Perhaps a rating system not for the Players to tag themselves with but a rating for players to tag a quest with.

After a DM runs a quest they go, so who thought this was hard in a good way, hard in a bad?  Easy in a good way, easy in a bad way?  Then the DMs look at the ratings players tend to give.  They could guess what sort of quests to give to players based on the player(s)' ratings of previous quests.  Also, include which DM hosted the quests that get the ratings.

"Well, so-and-so, here thought the last few quests hosted by, [DM]so-and-so, were too hard for them as a player.  So maybe I should try an easier quest this time."

This idea is probably too complex or too hard on the DMs.  I often do that to people when making "crazy" ideas.

If you want to burn me at the stake for this sorcerous witchcraft idea go ahead, I get use to my ideas being shot down by now.

20 Paladin/20 Monk/20 Awesome
He toke the prestige-class Awesome.

And Chuck Norris -is- a god.  He has the awesome, badass, uber, and better-than-whatever-else-you-can-think-of domains.

And Chuck Norris is clearly Lawful Good.  Fighting drug dealers and wife beaters in Texas 24/7.  If you ever watch him he hardly ever actually kills, people die just trying to get away from him.  He also has that whole "Goodguy" and "Honorable" thing going.

Also, every time he "acts" he really is Chuck Norris as himself.  Because no character in the world could meet the awesomeness levels.  Ever.

Spelldrinker Cloak

Tired of having to waste good spells on the young and arrogant mages that thought they could best him, Salathart the Noble ((Yes, I did make that name up)), crafted this rather handy cloak so that he would not have to resort to the big guns as often when dueling yet another would be arch-mage.  The dark blue cloak almost seems alive as it eats spells, little by little, and reverts it back into its user's own power.  Salathart eventually made the mistake of confusing a fellow arch-mage, under the effects of an eternal youth spell, for a lesser magician.  He did not survive the battle, but his stylish cloak did.
