Hope you get this resolved! I know what a pain these mystery connection bugs can be. =/

DO ET

...on a serious note, though. I've been averse to playing a dwarf my entire D&D career, more or less, and I decided to take a leap of faith and challenge myself by trying something new.

And I'm thrilled I did.

There's a sense of camaraderie and an immersive culture about dwarfdom that isn't really replicated in any of the other factions and associations I've been a part of on the server. 100% recommend giving it a shot and trying something new, if you've always thought a dwarf isn't for you but you're looking for a new concept.

Pop in to #Delving and chat us up if you're thinking about a dwarf PC!

Quote from: ThePaintedLady;295246I'll remember all those times you set me to hostile. Of course I only ever saw you once. But I'll cherish that memory.

LOL. This.

Even if it took a hefty number of faction favor points for balance purposes, I think this is still a great idea.

Agreed.

Also haven't been able to activate this, assuming setting/regularly using the spawn point is what constitutes eligibility.

Not playing an elf per se, but I am playing a PC with potential ties to the elven people/elven lore of the island!

Elves are a hugely untapped and unrepresented force on EfU. I'd personally love to see more elves with depth and truly elf-y RP.

Recruit me! ...er..., I mean...

As someone playing my first nature character (ever, actually, not just on EfU!), I'm completely and totally in awe of the depth and detail of what's been out there this whole time without me knowing about any of it.

I'm not sure what plots and the like are in the works, as I'm just starting out myself, but I'd definitely recommend giving it a spin if you haven't tried it and really want to experience the server in a different way.

Thread title is fairly self explanatory, but...

It would be nice (and I think also give the package a little more 'umph' and put it a bit on par with some of the others) to be able to make use of that random chaotic element feature on Flame Weapon, even if you don't have it in your current class spell rotation. It seems like having the chaotic nature of the package tied to the spell implies there's a connection there, so a 1/day doesn't seem too far of a stretch.

It rather forces you to take Flame Weapon as a spell to be able to utilize one of the perk's already slightly limited special features.

Suggestions / Delving Footlocker: Lockable?
February 20, 2013, 08:26:23 PM
After some OOC discussion, it's come to my attention that the lockbox in the Delving bunk room should probably have restricted access.

It's obviously possible (and intended) for dwarves to borrow equipment from the chest freely, but I've been told by multiple players that it's common for non-Dwarves to pay the 75 gold to pass through the Delving and pop in to ransack the chest. Players are, I'm under the impression, supposed to inform the DMs when this is done, but I and others don't think everyone's playing fair.

I know the Delving isn't, at least at this time, an official "association" (though I think it would be beneficial to consider making it one...), but it is the closest thing to participating in a faction for many Dwarven PCs, and at least some measure of exclusivity would be appreciated when it comes to equipment we discuss and leave for other specific PCs in a private Player Faction forum. With the dwarf population receiving a recent boom, we already have QUITE a few dwarf PCs passing through and plucking from what's there; greedy dwarves within the Delving nabbing loot designated for other dwarves is something that can be handled internally, but I personally feel like the room and chest being open to whomever walks right past Delilah to go locker-diving isn't reflective of the slightly xenophobic and certainly mistrustful nature of dwarves or the Delving. If this means earning the right to a key to the chest, so be it.

Obviously, this requires the implementation of some kind of key/rune/item, and I'm not the best person to figure out the rationality/feasibility of the mechanics of that with my limited understanding of scripting, but I think this concern is one of a few that might warrant the re-examining of the Delving as possibly moving into more formal association territory.

Summary: Please let us lock our things up, as we're already sharing a limiting 20-space locker between nearly a dozen of us!
