So, figured I should do this now. Or I probably wont get around to doing it after. Considering I never did with my first character. Brooke Silverspring bit it today, taking an unfortunate short end.

This was my second character ever on this server, having been new and never played any other previous chapters. I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm pretty sad over it. I genuinely loved playing this character and had so many ideas I wanted to expand upon. She got farther in the rings than any of my other characters and her concept went so wildly off base from what I made her to be that I was constantly being surprised over and over and over again.

Brooke started off as a fake-healer priestess to a twisted version of Lathandar. A new version, one she wanted to mold into the world. She was delusional. Waking up, she believed she remembered the world burning. - When in reality, she'd suffered through a terrible house fire and it was the last memory she had. To protect her sanity, her mind constructed the idea that an avatar of this god, saved her life.

Of course, this seemed to change the more and more she began to delve into the world of the city. And eventually, she soon changed to the idea that instead, what had saved her was the sixth face of the nine faced god. Hope, light, and salvation. She devoted herself to this ideal, and stopped giving her sermons in Ticker Square. After Alex joined the peerage, she moved there and her course was changed permanently.

Her portrait:

Rocky beginnings but she made some friends:

She finally made it to 95. And was stuck there for a while.

Eventually, her friends started dropping like flies. Halveig, Charlie, Onyx. She was determined to keep Alex alive. To make sure they made it to ring 1.
Her closest friendship had been that with Alexandra Theron. Her best friend, her Sister. She dropped everything at the drop of a hat for Theron.  That included staying out of the peerage, which she thought would be the death of her friends (Which, spoiler, it was.)
So when Alex joined the peerage, Brooke did too.

It was HARD at first.  Brooke had been the daughter of a Fisherman, and a druid. She had no knowledge of how to be a peer. And she struggled to stand on her own two feet for a long time. But eventually.. she grew a backbone.

(I am also very aware that I typed neutral. I'm dyslexic. It just happens sometimes.)

She took her oaths seriously, and from day one there was nothing but headache, problems, and heartwarming moment. She made new friends, and even met someone she came to love. Ciriaco, Aethelwine, Leselle Ayanna, Auntie Jo,  Eryeth Cotte, Agamast, Hastur, Daxton, Catarina, Arek, Harlow Crane, Adrian Winespill, Elrich Khaum, Rochelle Rhaechard, and many many many more.

She asked the real questions.

There were good moments too. Sweet moments. She got a bed. She found comfort. She made a home for herself. And she built that family up.

Ciriaco and Brooke began doing dispensaries on the daily. I had so much fun participating in them, even when we lost.

And when Alex died, the least likely person to ever comfort her- Her rival- Catherine Reyer.. she began to come to love the house she joined. For the very person who had perished for her.

She had visions in House Nephezar. And she soon moved on to ring run with her new found friends after Alex died. Velastra, Clyde, Arek, and others joined the ranks as her family. And she was determined to protect them.

She got advice from the most unlikely places. And- she actually took them to heart.

She made many mistakes. She failed, a lot. She blamed herself for Catherine's death. She blamed herself for Valindra. And it showed to those who bothered listen.

Things began to change. Her mentors gone, the house was suddenly reborn with life when Agamast Nepehezar. Brooke was so relieved. She hadn't wanted to lead. She didn't know how. She was happy to stand at his side, advising him.

"Sing me a song Adrian~

Eryeth came back, and while expecting an enemy- she found a friend in the High Thaumaturge. One she came to respect as her mentor. And friend.

The carpet looked PRETTY interesting, the first interaction she had with her.  But eventually, she became Eryeth's go to girl.

She had goals and dreams, too.

She witnessed several deaths of major characters. Magnus, Errilam. And more. Not all I have pictures of, unfortunately.

Eventually, she focused her efforts in bolstering ciriaco, and ringrunning. She joined the tears of blood. And this was perhaps the most fun, I'd had playing her to date. She was able to make it to ring 86. With Velastra and Adrian's help, she and Ciriaco passed the 95 challenge. And she was able to finally get closure, buring some ash and then releasing the rest of Alex's ashes at the silverpeak.

She carved their name into the pillers. And also added her name to the list of tears of blood:

No matter where she ran in the rings, she always took moments to honor those who had died.

She still missed her lost loved ones often.

Before Saul, she hadn't ever ended anyone's life. But she had finally grown a backbone. This scared, lost woman had turned into a hunter. She had been hardened, through suffering and loss. And she had been determined to never lose again. So when an enemy threatened her family, she ended it then and there.

Bittersweetly, Ciriaco and her decided to make their union official. They asked Silver to officiate a very quick, 2 minute long 'wedding'. Just before heading off to ring run. Silver insisted on an audience, and so the Tears of blood watched two petrified, shy, and very very private people make oaths to one another. The day before her death. It was heartwarming, at least.

but also just a tinsy bit awkward.

Finally, Brooke became Brooke Acciai. - Which... let's be honest, I was really hoping to get that last name changed. It's truly unfortunate that I typoed her last name so badly when I made her.

They had planned, after many years of service to Nephezar, to retire to ring 27. With a farm. Unfortunately, the server and other characters had other plans. And not thinking her enemies would catch her out past ring 94, was caught alone and unaware after visiting Alex's grave site. It is here, her story unfortunately ends prematurely.

May she rest in peace.

And someday, rejoin those she loved and cherished- those she risked her life to protect.

Thank you to everyone who made this character so enjoyable for me. I wish I could have continued her more, and ended her story later. I wish I could have gotten to finish the rest of what I wanted to do, but.. what's done is done. Thank you so much for the experience, and for all of your kindness to me on an ooc level. Being new to a server is so very difficult, and there are things that I still am trying to get used to. I've genuinely fallen in love with this community, and I can't wait for the new experiences that will no doubt be generated in the future. Happy ring running folks.

Some extra funny pictures:

Oh here is her final gear item that I thought was super cool:

Playing a GSF conjurer right now, and considering the latest change with the 24 hour swarm taken away... I would suggest elongating the time summons are actually summoned by a bit more for spell focuses. This change majorly gimps people who focus in conjuration as summons don't stay around long enough to be actually effective in pvp/pve. I'm not saying it should be 24 hours (because even with level 1 summons it can be stupid op), but considering they don't last longer than 2 or 3 minutes now I think it should be lengthened.

Bug Reports / Summoning/summon swarm broken
May 27, 2019, 09:44:41 PM
It wont go past 20 summoning. It just summons three and then unsummons two. Tried resting, Tried moving areas. Tried relogging. Nothing fixed it. Think something might have bugged in an update or something.

Update: Normal summons work. It's just summon swarm.

Also I was not diseased or bugged or anything. My stats were all normal. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Update. SO I summoned a bunch of normal summons and then a swarm- and it dismissed /all/ the normal ones and replaced it with two swarm.
