Dear Sirs,

A COMPENDIUM TO EPHIA'S WELL – PATRONAGE TOPIC: "THE LEAGUES"

1.    We refer to the conversation between your Legate Akna Ymir ("Legate Akna") and our Balstan Gloamingdaith dated 15 Hziran IY 7788.

2.    We further refer to Legate Akna's patronage of the Compendium to Ephia's Well (the "Compendium").

3.    We are pleased to inform you that your topics of interest, that being the Political Leagues of Ephia's Well, have been drafted. Pursuant to Legate Akna's patronage, we provide you with an advance copy of two pages of the Compendium relating to your indicated topics of interest, 'the Leagues'. We enclose herein the draft pages (the "Draft Pages").

4.    Further to the above, we note that Legate Gausim al-Marain ("Legate Gausim") has been on a leave of absence, and have had not the opportunity to accept the invitation of patronage over the Compendium. In the premises, and in the interest of fairness, we are honoured to provide him with the same opportunity.

5.    In light of the foregoing, we'd be grateful if you would let us know by 23 Hziran IY 7788 as to:

        (a)    your proposed amendments (if any) to the Draft Pages; and

        (b)    Legate Gausim's confirmation of his patronage of the Compendium and payment in the sum of One Thousand (1,000) dinars as to the same, to be made to our Balstan Gloamingdaith at a time of mutual convenience.

6.    Please feel free to reach out to the Sandstone College if you have any query.

7.    In the meantime, all of our rights remain expressly reserved, including but not limited to the right to make any revisions to the Draft Pages as we deem fit without further reference to you.

Student Gloamingdaith,

I have studied your texts and they are very well written and well structured. However I hope you do intend to include a few other locations that also hold some significance in the region.

These include:

Rampart Nusrum
Perforated Ashways
Alkab

Further, you could make brief mention of the modes of transportation in the Ash Desert. The Ashsail, the Carpet, the Groknak, Camel, and so forth.

I know this does not shorten your work, but Alkab, for example, is the bread basket of the desert. Most other nations and settlements gain their food from them. The Ashways are perhaps a bit more of a curiosity, but Rampart Nusrum also has a rich history. Even small symbolic mentions would be better than to leave them out entirely.

Walk with Izdu's Wisdom,

 Legate Marcellus Saenus

Ashwrought

Student Gloamingdaith,

Your work is well received, with great thanks for the prompt delivery.

I have no changes or updates in content to suggest, however I will bring your attention to the Qadira-On-The-Sea section, and suggest that the spelling of Warad be corrected from 'Ward' in the second paragraph.

With regards,

Legate Nasreen Shabani

Dear Sirs,

RE: A COMPENDIUM TO EPHIA'S WELL – PATRONAGE TOPIC

1.    We refer to:

        (a)    Our letter dated 20 Hziran IY 7788 (our "20 Hziran Letter");

        (b)    The undated letter received on 21 Hziran IY 7788 ("Legate Marcellus' Letter"); and

        (c)    The undated letter received on 21 Hziran IY 7788 ("Legate Nasreen's Letter").

2.  Purely for the ease of convenience, we adopt the abbreviations in our 20 Hziran Letter.

3.  We are grateful for the views and insights in Legate Marcellus' Letter and Legate Nasreen's Letter, and we are especially grateful for your prompt responses. We note at the outset that we are mortified at the typographical error noted by the good Legate Nasreen, and it has been promptly remedied.

4.  Aside from the above, we note Legate Marcellus' excellent suggestions, though we regret that with the 1st Edition of the Compendium well into its final stages of compilation, it may not be practicable to include mentions of those proposed locales. Nevertheless, the Compendium has never warranted itself to non-exhaustively capture the breadth and width of the Great Ring, but instead merely provide a primer for the newly-arrived that they may find surer footing. In that regards, we may have to include those proposed new topics in a 2nd and future Edition of the Compendium.

5.  Please feel free to reach out to the Sandstone College if you have any query.

6.  In the meantime, all of our rights remain expressly reserved, including but not limited to the right to make any revisions to the Draft Pages as we deem fit without further reference to you.

Live and drink,
