I think it is a must to in the least take a look at it, because a deity's associations can widely influence your roleplay with others or just help you not be so lost when others start talking. If you want to make a priest of Torm, Tyr, or Ilmater you better at least know what the triad is or you might face some unique IG consequences. Most likely from other priests of your religion.
