Suggestions / True Seeing on Summons
May 10, 2012, 05:46:22 AM
I'm putting this in bug reports instead of suggestions because I assume that wizards with certain themes having access to permanent true seeing through the application of a mere Lesser Planar Binding spell is assuredly an oversight.

An easy fix would be removing it from the L3 summons altogether. Then if it's deemed, for reasons I'll personally never understand, desirable for wizards to have access to summons with this particular ability, then perhaps it can be added to much higher level summons instead.

Suggestions / EFU:A Public Notices Forum?
February 02, 2012, 03:18:26 AM
It would be nice to have this forum, and possibly a select few others from EFU:A too, added to the 'Old Forums' subsection.

I never understood why it didn't make the change to EFU:M, and I think its a great shame because there are many sweet posts, just as in original EFU, that if possible would be excellent to be able to read.

Is this forum recoverable at all?

Suggestions / Arcane Eye
August 04, 2011, 11:36:40 AM
Just found out that Arcane Eye isn't affected by Ward Area and has Greater Sanctuary effect which makes it impossible to detect.

Is this a bug or feature?

If it is a feature, I strongly suggest at the very least Ward Area  dispels an Arcane Eye.

Is there even a single drawback  to casting Arcane Eye, at all? Or is it just free spying with impunity  4+ times/day for any wizard, suddenly transforming them into the best spying class (in addition to the best ganking, questing, gold-amassing, supporting, summoning, and everything else class)?

Suggestions / Make 20 Tumble give +3 AC
March 04, 2011, 02:05:35 AM
As the title says, really.

As we know, any DEX build can just stop putting points in Tumble at 10 ranks because he can easily avoid any AoO with 14 modified Tumble. I propose that a modified tumble score of 20, regardless of the lack of 15 proper ranks (impossible to achieve on EFU's level range) gives an extra +1 Dodge AC, for a total of +3.

This gives the various DEX builds (which are IMO alot cooler in general than fullplate ones) a bit of a buff, and something to look forward to into the higher levels when 20 modified Tumble might possibly become achieveable.

Suggestions / Rogue Perk Masterthread
February 08, 2011, 07:33:30 AM
I was simply going to bump the last thread but then remembered there are two, and both are fairly convoluted with tangental bickering.

What I've done is gone through both threads and collated what I thought to be were the best suggestions for some balanced Rogue buffs to lend a little mechanical credibility to a class which, at least IMO, is undoubtedly the weakest pure class on EFU (especially in light of recent buffs to wizards).

So;

QuoteHardcoded Class Bonuses

Bug Reports / Boss not spawning
September 23, 2010, 07:45:33 AM
I've had two players let me know that the bosses on some quests do not spawn all the time. Specifically, the 'Marching Dead, Cursed' on the Marching Dead quest and the 'Fat Rat' on the Rat Tower quest.

Announcements / Today's PvP incident
June 07, 2010, 02:13:36 AM
Send me a forum PM if you picked up any DM loot from any PCs during the PvP today, listing the name of the item and where you acquired it precisely. People being dishonest about this will be found out, too.

Thanks.

General Discussion / Great Job
May 28, 2010, 03:06:28 AM
Its not often I will tell people they are doing a great job, even if they deserve it, but I've felt inclined in light of the stuff that's been going on these last few weeks.

EFU has been abuzz with lots of sweet intrigue, tension and even lots of large-scale yet tasteful PvP with good leadup and followup roleplay (in general). It seems as if our vision when coming up with these new factions and their dynamics and relationships is working out great and to plan, with thanks to the PCs who 'get' what we were looking for and have really delivered. Not to disparage early EFU:A, but I think EFU:A is coming into its own here and its no small thanks to you guys rocking out.

So I just want to say, good work, and keep it up.

Announcements / Wilderness-Based Quests
May 18, 2010, 11:22:37 AM
Hey guys, we are not really interested in seeing city-based characters doing the wilderness collection quests. If you are not a legitimiate (aka live out in the wilds, all the time, in those settlements) nature PC you should not be doing these quests, at all. A few ranger levels is no justification, either!

Thank you.

Announcements / New DM Faction: The Sons of Sabuth
January 09, 2010, 06:01:42 AM
"Our history begins with our act of defiance, which is at the very same time the birth of our freedom and the dawn of our independence."

- Horton Grouse, to the people of the Docks, 26th Eleint 1376DR

As the dust settles on what the common folk are now calling the Queen's War, the balance of power in the Colony has changed. A new power has arisen in the seething slums of the Docks, its ascension as mysterious as it was swift. And borne upon these winds of change are cries of liberty voiced from hoarse throats, yelled by free men eager to live a life unshackled by the burden of Old Port's rule.

These free men are the Sons of Sabuth. As diverse as they are vocal, the Sons of Sabuth are a collection of soldiers, rebels, criminals, gangsters, sailors, fishermen, anarchists and freethinkers united by a dream of freedom and a distaste for authority. Having recently clinched a tenuous independence from the Duchy of Ymph, the Sons now look to build upon early successes and ensure the shadow of Old Port never again falls upon the muddy streets of the Docks.

Announcements / Opportunity
January 07, 2010, 04:02:51 AM
I am giving the opportunity for any historian/scholar characters to be rewarded with a custom DM quest for them and their friends if they were to pursue and complete a history of recent events, beginning with the earliest rumours of Ixpadia's claim to the throne and ending roughly where we are now. It has been a labour of love for the DMs to conduct what was essentially a very long plot that changed the face of the server. However, we sadly appreciate that we haven't done as well as we can in communicating the events/motivations/characters to the playerbase and the effects they all had on the gameworld, and so rather than writing our own history (which we are willing to do, if need be!) we're giving players a chance to first.

Basically, whichever PC writes the 'best' history of the recent plot and does most of their stuff IG (such as interviews of key people, etc) will be massively rewarded. It is thus basically a competition, and the prize will be quite worth it (beyond the respect and appreciation of your DMs and fellow players). I understand most players don't have the time/energy/interest in writing a history, and that's fine, but I thought I'd throw this out there for those who do like to flex their creative writing muscles.

PM me on IRC or over the forums here if you intend to take on this admittedly large task so we can watch how you go and even help you fill in the blanks along the way!

Good luck.

September 15, 2009, 12:13:35 AM
Encountered a bug today wherein I took Craddock's Wagon quest, and on my way to Tobar to acquire the parts to complete it my journal randomly updated, saying I had given up.

Suggestions / New Subrace: Werefrog
July 09, 2009, 07:50:30 AM
From the mouths of fearful hunters and awed conquistadors plying their trades in the dark interior of Ymph come hushed tales of the elusive frogmen who make their homes in the deepest bogs and lakes of the isle...

Information:

QuoteThough most commonly extremely xenophobic, even toward their own kind and other denizens of the bogs and swamps they dwell in, the Ymphian werefrogs' inherently malicious nature will at times call them to leave their waters and roam in search of food and territory. During such times, werefrogs will often band with other races of an acquatic affinity such as kuotoans and sahuagin.

The greater part of a werefrog's life is spent in the deepest swamps in a ponderous state of isolation with little nourishment, before it finally concludes what sort of life it will pursue. Sometimes, this prolonged state of contemplation means they will make excellent monks and planners. For many others however the hunger of so many years consumes them, turning instead to raiding and feasting upon warmblooded prey who stray too close to the shores of rivers, lakes and swamps.

As time goes by, many werefrogs adopt the traits of their 'other half,' ranging from a deep croaky voice, a pulsating vocal sac, or slimy skin.
Stats:

Quote- Ability Adjustments: +2 Dex, +4 Wis, -2 CHA.
- Bonus Feats: Alertness, Darkvision, Iron Will, Toughness, Weapon Proficiency (Creature).
- Other: Water breathing.
- Skills: Concentration +4, Discipline +4, Tumble +3

Animal/hybrid form:

- Ability Adjustments: +4 Str, +4 Dex, +6 Con.
- Other: DR 10/+1, 5/+2.
Appearance:

QuoteHybrid Form: Dire Deep Frog or Green Slaad
Animal Form: GLOWING GREEN INTELLECT DEVOURER

Suggestions / Docks Improvements
June 29, 2009, 05:31:22 AM
I think the Docks has alot of potential to become a player hotspot, much in the same way that Lower Sanctuary was at various times. It is a superbly built area with a really good medieval sort of vibe, and definitely should be filled with more PC activity than it has been.

Despite how amazing the Docks are, and with the new addition of the speciality shops (fletcher, bard instruments, skinner etc) people just do not go there. People mill around outside Kingsman's which is close to the sending system, the inn, the only two merchants who buy goods and within range of a great deal of quests.

I propose that the following be added to the Docks, to attract people--

- A general store merchant who buys things for a max value of 15gp (making him more attractive than Tobar)
- More delivery quests leading into/out of the Docks
- More quest givers for quests of all level ranges
- Wanton Wastrel being reduced from 15gp to rest to 2gp or 5gp

Yes, I agree its sad that adding economical benefits might be the only way to attract people to awesome areas...but I can think of few other reasons why the Docks is so devoid of PC activity.

Once people start hanging in the Docks -as well- as the Ziggurat, new identities and allegiances will spring up, leading to new tensions and rivalries. In the end, recreating the cool aspects of the Upper/Lower dynamic might be worth it.

"You're from the Zig, eh? Careful you don't get your skirts muddy, pissant."

"Good grief, you live in the Docks? Remove yourself from my presence lest I catch disease, knave!"

ETC.

None of that can happen though, if players don't hang in the Docks. :(

General Discussion / Portrait Compendium?
May 18, 2009, 11:16:25 AM
There's a sticky posted by ScottyB, but I was wondering if there was some manner of portrait compendium or anything like that? Did a new NWN install, am looking to get portraits back.
