Actually....
It's if you go in there AS a combat class, expect trouble.
You need potions of healing (even with a bought blessing)  for a good chance, and the payout doesn't really give that much. On the other hand, a cleric, say has an easier time in being able to buff up and slap them with a Hold Person. And a wizard rigged for single combat could do the same thing.

There are 2 different foes BTW, one of which is more dangerous.

It's a bug. If someone's lagging, usually and walks off rather than using the close button on the chest screen it gets stuck open. THe same problem happens with the weeds that are bubbleberry spawns on the Beggar's Ring quest a lot.

Actually, since the domain seems to be a lot about detection in and sneaking around in caves, how about forgetting the damage spell and going with Find Traps as a Level 1 spell?

Er, Doisur, as a PC is making an impact with all his business stuff, and he's involved in both organisational RP and occasional patrols with the Dwarves to smash monsters out of an area we've claimed.

It would be nice however if he could come along on some of the non-epic quests. Hitting L10, if you ever make it with a PC shouldn't require you to turn into a politician or merchant. THere should be some quests you can to for fun and for supplies. Yes, supplies. You're gonna use them in server invasions etc.

I know, I have had a L10 PC for a while, only a day (spiced to death) but it got me thinking "now what? I can't do the non-epic quests, and I don't want to pointlessly crush wilds spawns.

Things are better with the random events, but just one short, fun LX-10 quest to rock out on would be cool.

Suggestions / Better Rewards for the Beginner's Arena

This quest is particularly hard, especially if you die, as it's a solo quest. You'll likely use a good number of potions too, unless you happen to be a caster PC. I would suggest that the reward be increased to something a bit more than 1-2 pots and 60 gold. Even on a L5 PC it's tough and likely to cost more than you gain.

Suggestions / Sand Reef Boxes

Since this quest has been notorious for bugged boxes resulting from laggy players not using the close button, would auto-closing boxes like those on Wild Orcs solve the problem? The key could be on the Spider Queen, or even a weak troglodyte with the key could be added. The new update is awesome, but to ensure you get the *spolier*, it makes it even more important that boxes turn up.

This started off an idea Dwarf players were kicking around on IRC for beer kegs and then portable minor buff/heal items to act as resupply points for PCs. It could be really cool for server invasions, staging posts on long quests etc.

The Alchemist's Fire Keg has the option of "light fuse" or "pick up" as a dropped item, and can be carried. Now, could that item or the Catapult Pack etc be adapted to provide stuff like:

Ale Kegs: Portable, droppable 50 charge items that spawns an ale into the user's inventory on use.

High Quality Tent: Places a Spawn Point placeable at the deployed wilds location. Should be expensive though.

Massive Purple Crystal: Deployable item, works the same as a Purple Crystal but only casts Cure Light Wounds (5) on touch.

Thoughts/suggestions?
