I have an old Priestess of Lovitar, might have to bring her back.  She much prefered the 'mental' pain one can cause over the physical.

Quote from: Shamtastic;231268Level 6 can be gotten in two days, with some luck. (2-3 hours questing time, per day)
Level 7 on the third day with some good luck karma in PU groups. After that , it is a slow climb, as it should be.  As far as the OP, I do agree, the quest grind has kept me from jumping back in game of late, but..more so the lack of a decent concept and RL getting in the way.

I must be doing something wrong.  It took me 6 MONTHS to get a character to 8th level once, and that was before the 'nerf'.  I tend to only quest when it makes sense for my character, and then only the quests that again make sense.  I HATE power questing, now that is not to say that people can't or shouldn't do it.  But, with this, I tend to always be behind the curve. So the 'nerf' hurts me a lot more than it would ever help me. *shrugs*

As for the OP, it would help people like me, but there is no way to stop the power questers from abusing it.

I knew MD from a different sight, it was a Roleplaying sight that hosted many different games.  I had the honor and privilege to DM for him.  The characters he brought to life here,I sadly did not know, but I can say he did the same in a text based DnD game. (Play by Post)

He managed to bring the character to life through nothing but words. Even there he never cared about the numbers, just the fantastic story he could tell through the eyes and action of his character.  He had the ability to always keep me on my toes, knowing that if there was one thing I had not considered, it was sure to be the action he would take.  I can remember spending hours digging through books looking for the sure fire way to stump him.. I don't think I ever did.

Sadly, this is all I know about him.  I don't know anything more of his life, or his dreams.. now, now I wish I had taken the time to know the man (or woman) behind the name.

Rest well my friend, your unique style will be missed.

Quote from: Eraamion;229930Most people have no idea they are being watched or stalked by uber-stealth sneaks either, so I think at the end it balances out. Warding against scrying is much cheaper than Clairaudience/Clairvoyance against the stealthy folk.

You are right, but the uber-stealth sneak needs to be in hearing range, and runs the risk of being caught.  Even if you learn you are being 'watched' there is no instant fear of retribution for the scry'er.
It's rather easy to stay out of harms way when you can listen in from a distance.

Like I said, I like the idea of the spell, I would just hate for it to be being over used.  There should be some risk in learning others secrets.

Quote3. There is a roll vs spell DC to make you find out whether anyone is scrying and who it might be.

My 9th level Cleric has been scry'ed on, and I can say that as of yet I have never known it.  What is this DC?  And does it only count if you are the target of the spell?  What if you are one of the people talking to the target?  Do you have to be so close to the target of the spell for the scryer to know you are there?  Or just in hearing range?  These are all things that determine just how powerful this spell is.

if it is only the target you can hear and the DC is semi realistic (Lower than 30) then it's fine.

If everyone in the "hearing" range is effected by the spell.. well do each get a chance to know someone is 'watching'?  If yes, then cool.  If no.. well then perhaps they need to.

To need a Cleric or Wizard anytime you want to plot is somewhat extreme.  (And hope they have the spell ready and are high enough level to cast it.)

I like the idea of the spell, just hope it's not being over used.. as it takes some of the fun of 'conflict' out of the game when you have no idea you are even being watched.

Excellent character, never knew if you could trust him or not.. as we can see from the pictures, the answer was "NO".

Looking forward to meeting your next creation.

I find it amazing that in a single thread I can both be inspired and reminded of the good that can be found in Humanity, and reminded of the sad sad state of callous disregard we have for human life.

GS, take care of yourself.  What you aided in doing was a great thing.  No matter the 'state' of humanity it is never a bad thing to show compassion and help another when able.

Elves differ in personality and beliefs just as much as Humans.  Their memories are long and they are not quick to forgive any that they deem untrustworthy.. but many humans are the same.

QuoteThey lack interaction with a large majority of the server after being spoon-fed level gathering quests and more to level 7, and typically can pick and choose 100% of their battles due to massive stealth.

You would be suprised the number that don't have stealth.  (Cleric in the wilds.. nope no stealth there.) And making it to level 7 in the wilds is not an easy thing.. just leaving your home you can be eaten by any number of thing.

I want to start by saying I'm not whining, or bitching, but just stating what has been discussed and said by other nature players.

I have a 'nature' character that well, is no longer nature. (If that makes any sense)  But, when I was with Nature I can say without doubt that the vast majority of us felt we were totally on our own.

Letters were written to the Elders, that would have taken 5 minutes of someones time to respond to *(even a received would have been nice) on issues that as Stewards or Gazers needed an Elders input, we got nothing.

LARGE groups of not only Nature PC's were lead through-out the land on various tasks, not only once but I can think of three that My PC lead, and at least one other that was lead by someone else. Now on one of the trips we did get some DM attention.  So I would like to say thank you to that DM for that.

These are the little things that can make or break a "Faction" concept.  I'm not looking for the BIG moves, not looking for direction per-say, not looking for 'loot', but just on occasion to know that someone is occasionally paying a little attention to the 15+ Nature characters that were out there at one time.

ToH,

Sorry if I added to this for you.  Don't worry to much about it.  Izzy will be fine, or dead, I'm alright with either option.

I fully understand that there are times that IC things get to us OOC'ly, the best thing to do is find a way IC'ly to deal with it, otherwise it is never resolved.

Karrin could petition the Lords to set Bron free.  She could find someone that she thinks might help him and ask them to see to his well being.  She could just ignore the fact that she 'owns' him and go about her business.

Karrin is a well developed character and I would hate for you to just give up on her because of an IC situation.
