Correspondence / Re: Letter sent to Jamileh Attar

Hamdan al-Hamdan,

My schedule is incredibly busy, but I will see if I can find you a slot somewhere. I care very little for the opinion of the unopinionated when it comes to titles. I had two degrees and a bachelors before I even came to Ephia's Well, and I'm close to finishing my second one from the backwater inst-- Sandstone College.

Apologies for the tardiness of my response, but I rarely notice new letters piling up on my desk amidst all the papers, not to mention - I rarely spend time in the Well - the truth is OUT THERE, and that is where I usually am.

Find me at your convenience. I have also something you might wish to purchase - a ROGUE'S NECKLACE - that I held in my pack for the past week, thinking of you.

The emerald, however, is gone - I have fed it to a Groknak (Baby).

Best regards,
Jamileh Attar

I was before I even came here and decided to waste my time away helping others.
Anyway, my point still stands!

Sign it.

P.S. Are you the one who tried to hit me but couldn't bring himself to do it, hiding under 'Collective'? Well played..

Friends,

Below is a draft of a letter I intend to send to the FACULTY to commend Caster Cro as per Zol Nur's suggestion.

If you agree with it, please sign your name, and I shall send it to the faculty.

Additionally, I would like to organize a join trip to Frostport for Caster Cro in the coming days, for he has spoken how much he misses winter.

---

Dear Sir/Madam of the FACULTY,

We are writing to you to request an official commendation and recognition for Student Caster Cro, for the endless qualities: his unceasing labour, helpful demeanour, walking his path of walking towards the shining light of understanding - and all that done, with the merriment and humility befitting a true scholar, as well as his refusal to give up.

A true gem, amongst us, and he does deserve recongition.

I think it would bring a tremendous smile on his face, and it is well earned.

Best regards,
Jamileh Attar

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to formally request abolishment of the requirement for graduate students on the grounds of extenuating circumstances. While it amuses me greatly to see fresh Students put into burlap potato sacks to be pointed at and mocked on the streets...

I do believe it should not be applicable to graduates.

Or, well, myself at least.

The fact that I remained with the College after graduation to pursue a second degree in psychology and nudging the fresh students to spread their wings is actually doing the College a tremendous favour based on my reputation as the first and foremost archaeologist and historian of Ephia's Well, not to mention the fact that I possess two degrees, from before my time in the Well - in Mathematics and Archaeology, as well as a Bachelor's in Mechanicus studies, followed by a degree in History from Sandstone, not to mention my contributions to the License Wars over the months (which is proven by the fact that the moment I disappeared, archaeological licensure went to the Mount - though, not for long, now).

Best regards,
Jamileh Attar

The Carnal Life of Savage Hill Goblins:

An Account of Animalistic, Orgiastic Life Among the Natives of the Echoing Canyons

---

by Jamileh Attar

The sexual life of savages has long awaited its natural historian. Owing to sex taboos, that weigh at least as much on the civilized as on the savage mind, this subject has always been veiled in mystery. Our own "modern" societies hold a disdain for all-things-savage, we are full of phobias, traumas, taboos et cetera, imprinted upon us by generations of subtle and very often purposeful (and insidious) social conditioning of denizens of civilized societies into conformity by the powers that are.

This particular subject can be further explored by interested readers within "Cyclical nature of civilizations" by an author unknown, but I shall not dwell on it here, though it is regardless very important to note the weight such social conditioning carries into our personal bias as researches. A fatal flaw, all of us, pursuers of truth suffer from.

As a historian dabbling into ethnography, I can not help but think that we (the collective society of scholars) do not penetrate this subject deep enough - as the question(s) that we shall attempt to answer here is:

What lurks at the very core of the animalistic drive of a primitive society?

Are the habits and rituals something that has developed on its own? Have they been subject to its own social conditioning?

Or perhaps, is it a sign of something much more dark and insidious, an invisible hand that has driven this tribe (and others) into its relentless drive of lascivious procreation as one of the moves in an age-long tawla game.

Hey Friends,

I know what Gip says, that people writing farewell posts usually will be back pretty soon, but I doubt it will be the case with me, since my life has turned upside down over a span of last month, with a lot of stacking problems, job change, major health issues and more, so after giving it a serious degree of consideration, I decided to pull the EFU plug indefinitely, and since I dropped off EFU Discord to not get tempted, feel free to reach out if you ever want to talk in a PM.

I want to thank everyone in the community (DMs and Players  alike) for (wow) 14 years of outstanding and captivating storytelling, tears of joy and laughter, and a whole plethora of emotions as a result of the wonderfully talented beautiful minds that made this place possible.

You are all wonderful people. Please, be gentle and understanding to each other (players and DMs alike) even when things get heated. You never know who's sitting on the other side of the screen and what they have gone through.

Love you all and thanks for everything,
SN

Similar to EON, my absurd play times will be dying down, as I'm switching jobs. We'll see if I can bum as much, but i doubt it.

For now, back in 3 days..

V6 certainly is something!!

Lion, Isotta,

I'm attaching a revised version, simplified, so we can get this going.
The only thing I modified is the scope of work.

Let me know if you have any additional changes and/or suggestions that need to be made.

"The Competition"

[hide] Terms of Contract
The Banda Rossa Mercenary Company
and
"The Competition"
<DATE>, IY 7787

This contract will define the terms of service, as established between Jamileh of the "Competition", and Balestriere Kythaela Reithel of the Banda Rossa. Both parties are of clear mind, health, and wit when the Contract has been drafted.

Scope of Work: To protect Jamileh and the members of the Competition in the environs known of the Ash Desert (Ephia's Well included) from bodily harm / death from (but not limited to):

- The Black Clad Cult of the Inheritors
- Monsters and/or Beasts
- Assassination attempts by internal and foreign powers

The Terms, should both parties be in agreement are as follows.

- A weekly bond of One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Dinars (1750) for Banda Rossa Soldari to serve under arms. These will number up to Six (6) Soldari at one time, but no less than Two (2).
Competition prefers if the representatives of the Banda accompanying the expeditions include Isotta in a leadership position.
Furthermore, a day when the minimum number of  Banda Rossa representatives as defined in the Contract will not be available within a reasonable time from an announcement over the bellows by the Competition will result in the Contract extended by another day at no cost.
- A one share (x1) equal to present Soldari of coinage or plunder recovered of coins, potions and battle supplies in any battles while under contract. * .
- "Special operations" (Extended sieges, headhunter cadres, etc) will be reviewed by Condittiero and may incur higher wages.
- Additional costs (travel, lodging, mundane water) are to be discussed and agreed upon by both parties. Banda Rossa covers on their own. Competition will be glad to co-share and provide a share of their own food or water supplies should situation arise in which it will be necessary for the collective survival of both Competition and the Banda. Competition will cover the caravan costs, should a need arise to utilize such.

* Artifacts of historical and archaeological significance do not apply, Competition will lay sole claim to  such.

Contract becomes effective following exchange of agreed payment and a written confirmation of receiving the funds.
