Bug Reports / Deep Lizards are Medium Sized
August 24, 2013, 07:45:55 PM
I have on several occassions managed to track down and pinpoint Deep Lizards as "medium-sized", using the ranger Track command. Is this an oversight, or intentional?

Bug Reports / Transition and merchant bug [Wither pit]
August 18, 2013, 02:20:32 PM
* The ladder out of the Wither Pit doesn't seem to be working.

* When you ask the merchant in the Pit to show his ordinary selection, your inventory pops up, and the trade window either doesn't open or closes immediately. I believe this might be because the store is scripted to show at a dialogue node that can actually be responded to with [End dialogue], overriding the trade/barter window.

Suggestions / Donation bowl for Wither Pit
August 16, 2013, 06:00:10 PM
I suggest adding a donation bowl for the Wither Pit, for those of us working to support the Withered community, or other random do-gooders who just want to lend a hand.

Bug Reports / Faster Withering
August 02, 2013, 09:01:17 AM
On two separate occassions, I have recieved the message that "You feel the maiden's curse affecting you at a rate faster than usual." This message came with one of the other red-text messages associated with the Withering, and didn't seem connected to any particular area or event apart from this. I never recieved any message of this kind in EFU:M, so am thinking this might be a bug.

Suggestions / Goblin Ghost quest - tweak
July 22, 2013, 05:04:31 PM
The balance on the "goblin ghost" quest seems a bit off. The first "part" of the quest has a small amount of medium-power monsters, but is also relatively short and easy to handle with a medium-sized or half-skilled group.

The second "part" of the quest has a fair amount of quite deadly monsters, with crippling Area-of-Effect spells and - perhaps most importantly - level drain.

While it is possible to do the quest without trying your hand at the "second part", if you do, the rewards don't really match up to the dangers to which you are exposed, and the difficulty level (in my opinion) scales a bit too high compared to the rest of the quest. Perhaps spreading the difficulty a bit more evenly around the quest - with more dangerous monsters (perhaps more diverse spawns) earlier and less later might be a good idea?

Removing level-drain from the more dangerous monsters might be a good idea, considering it basically cripples you until a server reset (or you pay enough gold to get rid off it, essentially nullifying any reward you might recieve from the quest, as per of this posting).

Just my two gp. Like the quest overall, but think it could use a few tweaks. Take it for what it is!

Our old friend Nurtle doesn't seem to have had his dialogue or description updated since Chapter 1.

The Old Port Guard!

The Old Port Guard, being a rather loose congregation of law-men looking to get the job done, currently have all kind of types: thugs abusing the title, blackmailers using it for cover, robbers over-enthusiastically levying "taxes", paladins with a grudge, shifty under-cover rebels, and refugees just in it to avoid the "sewer-tax". The Guard, despite it's reputation for inefficiency, laziness, and corruption, deserve a lot of love and new recruits. There is plenty of good RP going on in the association at the moment, and the sheer amount of conflicting ambitions and goals within it make for some really interesting role-play. The current open-endedness of the association really makes it something possible to go with, and shape in many different ways. Far from a single entity and with several different outfits vying for influence, it is currently neither a "copy" of the Muster, nor of the Watch. The Guard is really a nice place to build from!

TL;DR: This!

Bug Reports / Sneak attack problems
June 30, 2013, 01:56:21 PM
This has probably been reported before, however:

Trying to sneak attack NPC opponents armed with missile weapons seems to work only about one-tenth to one-sixth the times it is supposed to (in essence, identical situations wherein Sneak Attack works against a melee opponent).

Not sure if it's anything anybody can do anything about, but thought I'd drop it here.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Sergeant Vall Fynolds
July 16, 2012, 07:22:08 PM
As those of who you played with him know, Fynolds is dead.

Here comes some details from his Personal Character Notes thread, that I think will surprise a few of you:

QuoteClass: Wizard
Alignment: Evil (Currently trending heavily towards Lawful and Neutral, according to my own assessment)
Specialization: Necromancy
Current deity: The Red Knight
Former deity: Cyric (No longer believes in, and was actively looking for alternative)
QuoteImportant character statistics:
Intelligence: 18

Wisdom: 8
QuoteLong-term goals:

- Successful conversion to another, preferably Neutral or Good-aligned deity.

- Don't get outed, and survive.

Evolved goals (goals which have evolved organically):

- Try to reform the Muster OR join the Wyrm Watchers.
Vall was originally created as an alt char when I still had Erik Thatcher (EFU:A). He was an evil no-good Cyricist. He later evolved to regret his faith, and became my new main. After a lot of RP, plotting, and organic evolution, he turned into the law-keeping, strategy-oriented but slightly strange Muster wizard some of you played with.

Great thanks to ShadowCharlatan, OskarMaxon, Griggs, Calimport, JohanMaxon, Johnston, Rossart's player, RuinedDesires, RWG, Team Muster (mainly the Old Guard that is now mostly dead and replaced with ZOLTAN LUGO ), Rincewind/Kross, and others.

Conrad is dead. I am a bit disappointed in that I did not get even close to the goals I had set up for him.
The journey, however, was fun, and I from what I could tell, his little villainies did cause a bit of a ruckus in Mistlocke. I hope the rest of you had an interesting time playing against him.

Conrad interacted with and attempted to join, coopt, and subvert a large number of the shady presences and factions active during his tenure on Ymph, but was eventually undone by an old foe: the Caermyn snakes!
Here follows some screenshots from his career. I have more, but they're too spoilerish.

Special thanks to LiAlH4, team Aberdenn, Chrijone (for being first an ally and then an enemy), and the vast number of unknowing bystanders.

Upon arriving on Ymph, Conrad immediately deduced Mistlocke would not be a friendly environment to one of his faith and thus strove to get more powerful allies.

This led to him coming along to crush quests with Team Comital at a few occassions, though not often enough.

Unfortunately, they all died off before it turned into something fruitful. Conrad, having infiltrated Aberdenn on Vednyev's orders, was welcomed with suspicion from the very beginning. Here he is being recruited.

And here, being suspected of being a Caermyn spy, after Abigail discovered someone had been making double copies of the files and sending them off to somewhere (hint: He wore red.).

Since Aberdenn didn't prove a good ground for recruitment, Conrad turned his attention to other factions.

He kept the Aberdenning up, however, and enjoyed the company. Here are some random screenshots from Aberdenn (one with a particularly disturbing dialogue in Tells, indicating darker deeds in the Muster).

Ez'kus, however, managed to get himself killed by the Snakes (at least, so did Conrad think), and so he started hibernating again, only rarely coming out. Then the Duergar showed up.

From there on, however, screenies become spoilerish. I can, however, reveal his ultimately very villainous ending:

Will see you with whatever is next! Thanks to Derf for one of the more interesting endings I've had. It was an interesting run! :)

After the institution of the new Wage system, the Quartermaster in Aberdenn does not recognize me as being part of the faction. Moreover, nor do I recieve the XP bonus or the faction wage. I have recieved them off and on haphazardly since the institution of the system, but not with any regularity.

This may be related to a death, as it began/happened shortly after my character was raised from a questing accident.

Introductions and Group Management / Looking for Concept
September 19, 2011, 10:39:08 AM
Looking for help in figuring out a new concept. Suggestions will be welcomed.
Preferably ones that are more worked out than a "one-hit-wonder" that will burn brightly and die within a week.

Suggestions / Uniform Colour cungruency Muster
September 18, 2011, 05:59:40 PM
The anvil and dye table appear to give different colours to armors for the Muster, and the colors of the Anvil do not match those worn by NPCs around Mistlocke. Could it be changed so that all Mustermen wear the new colour scheme (which is the one given by the Anvil), and that the dye table change to the same colour scheme?

General Discussion / How do I search a pack?

Can't find the command!

Erik Thatcher, scoundrel, necromancer, opportunist, Tymoran, plotter, and criminal is now dead. Permanently so.

This character was created on Sunday, April 24th, 2011 at 02:26:56 AM.
Since creation, this character has logged on and off 155 times.
The character has spent 7 days, 20 hours, 6 minutes, and 14 seconds online.

Been one of the most entertaining chars I've had in a long while.

I have about a month's worth of Screenshots to sift through, and will be posting a couple of them shortly.

Many thanks to a lot of the people I've played with. Players of chars ranging from Hugo and Crale, to Gustin and Rennart, Camille and Annette, Sicily, Khavenko and his buddies, Sanny, Alvin, Dalgad, Nicholai, and many others deserve great thanks. Been a blast.

So yeah. Since a few of us managed to get out, I thought we might be interested in trying to coordinate.

I usually play daytime and evenings GMT.

Playing Erik Thatcher.

Bug Reports / Quest bug: Gull Rock Delivery quest
May 31, 2011, 09:52:50 AM
The quest, when you check the NPC description, is supposed to be 3-10. However, in reality, it seems to be only 3-8.

Information:

A rather odd mercantile company, founded in a joint venture by now-executed patrician Sanny Leonald, the Thane of the Golden Alliance, and the Sentinel of the Vortgyn's Rest Militia, this small group appears to focus on various duties revolving around transportation, exploration, and various odd mercenary tasks. The exact nature of their work remains elusive, although the highly public supply expeditions to the dwarven mountain Hold has previously been a main focus for their activity. The rumour mill might tell you strange rumours about their first Chairman,  how their members are often seen in both the Dominion and the Docks, talking to Stygian and Sabbuthan alike, often long treks into the forests surrounding H'Bala's tower, and muted plotting with Conclavist wizards. Although obviously mainly out to make money, perhaps there's something more here than meets the eye...?

Out-of-character:

I'm only creating this because In-character-recruitment isn't yielding the results I need it to - perhaps a fate risked by any faction of too-clandestine-a-nature. Quite honestly, anyone who joins will not be bored for lack of work. While mainly a faction for the non-lawful, non-evil, there's certainly room for concepts here,
as long as you can stand by the rather strange mish-mash of Dwarven  morals, roguish cunning, and crazy daring. A path to adventure and ways in on many of the major plots on the Island, with the added benefits of political neutrality. How could you resist?

And then there's the things I can't tell you about here, too.

Bug Reports / Broken Transitions
May 26, 2011, 01:48:48 PM
I have begun to see a lot of broken transitions of late. Some are ones that previously did work, and others appear to be new ones that do not work, and yet more are ones I'm not sure has ever worked.

First off:
In the Nebezzdos Alleys area, if you head from the part of it accessible through the south Ziggurat/leading to the Main Gates, and head west through the hole in the wall, the transit that is supposed to take you from the windling alleyways to the Khavenko/Squatter's den alleyways is broken from this side.

Second:
In the temple district, on the southern edge pretty far east in an opening in the southern wall, there is a transit leading south that you can click, but doesn't take you anywhere.

I'll bring in more as I find them, and if you guys tell me I'm not just seeing things.
