Suggestions / Fighter Vagabond Perk
May 24, 2017, 10:16:57 PM
This perk is pretty neat, but I think it could have two things to make it work just a smidge better.

1.) When you reset perk for the purpose of bonus AC on an armor, I feel that it should use the BASE dexterity, not the characters total dexterity.  (What I mean by this, is you having Cats Grace shouldn't matter.)

2.) Give the Vagabond a round of Greater Sanctuary when they use the /c fighter_perk, on top of the two turns of invisibility. This would ensure that they really poof..

Erron Vastiir was made with madness in mind. I wanted to play a Don Quixoteesque PC who believed with all his heart in everything he did. His main goal was to keep Sune alive through his praise and worship. Oh, and he thought “Sune” was in his sword…

QuoteSir Erron was born in the City of Splendors, and raised as a defender of the Temple of Sune. He served his station fearlessly and admirably for over forty years, and the Temple became his only home and the only thing he ever knew. Even after the initial darkening of the sky, the Temple held stalwart with Ser Erron at the vanguard. It was not until the Snake found her feast of Sune herself, that things started getting dicy. The Temple was sieged with powerful weapons of the thralls of Waterdeep, and crumbled as Sune was devoured…

He carries with him an ornate sword, which he perceives as intelligent. He often can be found confiding in this sword as it is a very close companion to Ser Erron. The sword itself is ceremonial, and belonged to the High Priestess of the temple whom he found dead and buried under rubble. The sword was sticking out of the wreckage like a symbolic Excalibur. Perhaps seeing his entire world snap like a twig before his eyes sent him into delusion, or perhaps there really was some intellect in the sword, but he heard it calling to him and has been bonded since with a Relic that he guards with his life and keeps him safe in turn – Heartwarder. (Named after the clergy themselves.)

I had an absolutely amazing time on this character. I got to hit a lot of my interests. He was a defender of the Fount (worst kept secret in the server, with all those potions he chugged.) Got to be a councilor who got to see Final Sanctuary (woo baby).. Got to make an actual mark on the world, and change an area! (Church got trashed!) … It was a hell of a ride. And, I even took some screenshots along the road.

Never hit nine. Oh well.

A screenshot of a dead Erron.

You just wait, you smug bastard.

Well, I mean. You barely got me Heresiarch.
Praise Saint Simsam!

I need a little more AC..

Erron was definitely not plotting on killing Mystryl, and this guy definitely didn’t show up and call him an idiot.

These Bethesda glitches are unplayable.

The night before the raid on Castle Swan. We had an awesome prayer vigil. It was legitimately amazing.

Next divine edict was to make Mouldercrest change its colors.

Just the fam sitting around talking.

Oh shit.

LOOT:

Heartwarder, the sword he brought with him from the surface. Infused with a gem he found fighting driders!

Heartwarders Sheath.

ERRON VASTIIR’S FINAL MOMENTS

BONUS ENDLUDE:

Uh-oh. What’d I do? Oh right, killed myself.

Maybe I should have “kebabed” myself earlier…

Well, as they say. That’s all folks. See you next time.

General Discussion / #EfU and you
March 24, 2017, 03:53:38 PM
I'll try to keep this short, and not aimed at anyone in particular. #EfU has gotten obscenely toxic over the last month, and I don't know where it's come from. False rumors are propagated and churned, players are pretending to know the motivations of players and characters, and people are being overall pretty scummy.

I know that it's not just me that has seen or felt this, though I am definitely party to some shit talking, and taking some beatings as well.

Can we please stop being condescending and jerkish to each other? We can definitely be better than this. It has gotten so brutal in the channel in the past that it makes one physically cringe.

Now this is not saying stop the ribbing, and go love each other and hold hands... But keep in mind that there are other players on the other side of the screen, and odds are they're trying their best to cultivate their story just like you are.

Bug Reports / Respawning back to the Fugue
February 28, 2017, 04:30:17 PM
On my character Sandre Voss, account name of hey can i play :

I do not respawn out of the fugue, ever. I have respawned twice and both times get knocked down in front of the Fuguemaster, at 1 HP and am rendered immobile.

Not sure what's going on.

Suggestions / Ambient NPCs
September 29, 2016, 05:06:56 AM
I really enjoy the Ambient NPC system, and feel like it's a great addition to EfU. I feel, however, that perhaps when the server has been up for many hours, that just too many of them cluster up in one spot. I suggest that Ambient NPCs despawn after a set time (probably random), to emulate coming and going.. That way, if you are trying to get back to hear Drezdles new joke, maybe he already left and you don't get a damn thing for being late to the party.

Thoughts?

Bug Reports / Spider summoning trinket has default theme

This can be found in a cave explorable with drow within. Possibly a lowerdark explorable. It summons rockworms.

Bug Reports / Ambient NPC Shops
September 28, 2016, 03:23:58 PM
It seems the shops of Ambient PCs doesn't get spawned with the NPC in at least one instance. The Scrapper that made its way to the Grotto did not have an inventory, despite shouting his epic find.

The Custodians of Letters

[/HR]

Alignment: Any
Race: Any
Deity: Any
Class: Any (Mages and the like will be treated as Scholars, and Fighters as their defense)

As you can see this group will accommodate pretty much anything, so long as the characters progress and push the factions goals.

Goals:

Fighting monsters, recovering lore, stopping dangerous rituals, understanding the past in an effort to fight for the future. Gathering knowledge, artifacts, spreading knowledge, for it cannot grow if it is kept hidden/censored.

Ultimate goal:

Reversing the Seven Steps that brought about the End of Days.

Structuring

I have a pretty interesting structuring system in mind, including a entrance challenge to be named as one of the representatives of the Custodians. Essentially, Fighter-Types will be the Wardens of the Scholarly-Types. Pairs who are given assignments, and research topics and invited to grow within the internal ranking of the faction.

Join us on #Lettersmen in IRC if you're interested.

Suggestions / Nature Tool
August 16, 2016, 04:21:38 PM
Basically, I think it'd be a pretty good perk for druids and nature PCs to be able to not have to kill the mushrooms that pop up all over the place. The tool would do this:

As you can see, the mushrooms sink down (about 0.30f) into the ground for 1 round, allowing the druid to pass.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Ding dong...

...The witch is dead.

Morgan Dubois has died. In typical NGCS fashion, I have like no screenshots of her.

Thanks to everyone who made her fun.

See you on the next one. Might be taking a wee break before I dive in too deep though!

Suggestions / Take away free sendings for cults
June 26, 2016, 11:10:59 PM
Currently only 2 of the three get sendings at no charge what-so-ever. This is a luxury not even afforded to city officials above, and we all know that Stone has to dump baublium into that sphere. I propose Lower sendings cost something.

Advertisment is good. Sendings are good. Spam is not.

Suggestions / A means to end bard songs
June 12, 2016, 07:35:08 AM
This is a pretty simple suggestion, though I am sure the actual implementation of a system would be a lot more complex.

Basically, I'd like to see a way for bards to end their song. They just stop singing. This seems to me, would provide some diversity between songs. A bard could choose to change their song as a new opponent approaches.

Bug Reports / Notes
June 12, 2016, 04:43:02 AM
It seems that notes won't place down any longer. I am not sure how recent this is, but notes that you buy from NPCs scribed don't place the placeable any more.

I am the absolute worst at taking screenshots, but I'll ride on Kasia's coat tail once more here. Jamiir is gone. Literally all the screenshots I have of him are dialogue trees, where he's doing his Wisdom of the Darkness thing, or some kind of ritual.

In short, Jamiir is gone, and I'll see you next time?

Blessed dark.

I am looking for PCs to join me in an endeavor into gladiatorial fighting, with a twist. There is a high chance of permadeath with this concept. If you’re looking for something to do, or in limbo till your next PC hit me up in IRC.

I don't want to give too much away here.

Suggestions / Restrict /c yank_pack
March 27, 2016, 11:56:50 PM
I have had perfectly good days ruined by someone yanking my pack to find one item that they know they are searching for. My suggestion is easy -- Add in a rule that says to yank_pack only as a last resort. I've lost hours of pack tetris with this incredibly frustrating thing.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Sebastian Vaughn
March 16, 2016, 06:30:41 AM

I made Vaughn to be a prefect, of course that didn't work. Prefect is my white whale.

Vaughn's story started in Upper Sanctuary like many others.. Where the first thing he did was hired people to make sendings on his behalf, and befriending local constablulary. From there his house grew..

Here's an excerpt from my PCN:

He got a bit of traction in Upper, and got some work with some clients. He came into contact with a rotund businessman name Octavius, who betrayed him and got him in front of a military tribunal. He lost from some corruption, designed to make the defending watcher look bad (???) And was sentenced to Debt Bondage for Octavius. Octavius died 10 minutes later, and Vaughn fled to lower.. There he met a man who convinced him to form a proper gang... And form he did.

He then died, something new to NGCS PCs.

Was fun, I'll see you next time.

I enjoyed every minute of Shaw, from Aspirant to Agent. (Though at times it was trying being an Aspirant.) This is how he worked.

Shaw himself was very mechanical in nature. He needed things to be ordered to operate properly. This is why he tried to control everything he could. At the start, Shaw had to be soft-spoken, gaining the favor of Sanctuary as he pushed toward his grand divination of Final Sanctuary. He wouldn’t even allow himself to hold onto a  scroll of Animate Dead, until such a time that it was legal for him to have it. After all the trials of the War (An incredible, incredible series of events by ShadowCharlatan), and the war was won with him surviving… He didn’t so much need peoples approval anymore, and let that meticulous need to control things take over.

Along the way he met some really interesting folks, and some friends that would transcend their own time in his mind… A fatal mistake in the end. He met some incredible NPCs, and learned some really interesting plot points.. And I even got to use Timestop to absolutely no effect…  (Remember to bring coins with you to trams)

I can not express to you how bummed out I am to lose him before the conclusion of Final Sanctuary. I could have just sat in the shield and raked in major Agent bank, but I’ve never been that kind of player. I just hope you all enjoyed him as much as I did.

Bug Reports / Craft Trap <=> Engineering
January 03, 2016, 04:44:36 AM
As I understood it, Engineering was supposed to work like Secondary X, but for Craft Trap, in that every 5 ranks should give you +1 to the modifier of Craft Trap. I checked today, and my level 7 wizard with 17 INT and maxed Craft Trap only has 13. (10 base + 3 INT) but no +2 from Craft Trap.

Is this not the way it's supposed to work, or is this in fact a bug?
