Hey folks. Just curious, what does everyone think is the least used, least seen melee weapon on EFU:A? Brainstorming for new concepts and I'm tryin to think of something really original to use for a weapon.
Light hammers
Greatswords
lol greatswords are EVERYWHERE man.
ninja-star
Shruikens
Shurikan is an excellent call for the ranged weapons, but I'm lookin for melee weapons right now.
Kamas
Dwarven Waraxe on a non-Dwarf.
Heavy Flail.
club

Heavy Flail.
I had a human with a dwarven waraxe.
DWs are basically the 3x crit version of Bastard Swords.
Club, light hammer, shortsword... the first two are probably the ones I've seen most rarely used.
The mention of the club reminds me of something. I saw a gnome once that used a dead fish as a weapon. lol loved that. Kudos to whoever that was.
Light hammer
Clubs are seldom used and are an integral part of a fantasy setting, imo.

Only because they'd be the most accessible weapon to the average commoner or goblin.
They're not anywhere nearly as neat or cool a sword though, or an axe, or even a mace.
mace is gud
Kukris, kamas, daggers on non-wizard.
light hammers
Dual wield a kukri and a club.
I'd say Light hammers, personally.
I'd have to agree with Light Hammer because not even NPC's use them in addition to the fact that PC's never use them unless its for RPing crafting something.
Seems light hammers is takin it.
You know, I always meant to do an unarmed (non-monk) rogue. Some bladed gauntlets for melee and the ol' bow for ranged. Could be cool!
It's light hammer. CLubs have and still get used quite a bit actually, especially by wizards (wizards club - +1 lvl1 spell). It's also a go to for druids.
But no one, No one uses lt hammer, it's an equal to the dagger than takes martial weapon prof to get.
sickle

Heavy Flail.
Check Morris Clayton, and my battlemage. As far as clubs go my "savage" sebek cleric used one instead of a morningstar.
Least used IMO
Sickles
Daggers
Halberds
Longswords (Despite a few PCs using them now)
I don't see too many whips, aside from when a loviatarran or sunite uses one. Daggers are rarely used, usually people use shortswords. But above all, I have only seen 4 people in all my time here use Tridents (myself twice, a sahuagin, and someone playing as a farmer type of dude).
Dwarven Waraxe on anyone is insanely common, really. The PGers choice.
And, Longswords are actually used quite often! People just don't tend to notice them behind every other type of sword ever, which stand out.

I did that for a while up to lvl 4 or something, but then switched to a club that had +1 dmg. On to far better stuff now.
Guy's a wizard anyway.
Don't mess with mt club. Try a kukri or something.
Kama is probably the most unused weapon I can think of right now.
I would say Kukri, definately, but I already realized that and used it, so it's not unused anymore.
scimitards
Scimitars? Really? I figured that would be an extremely popular choice, especially for druids. Right up there with the Rapier and Greatsword and Greataxe.
Kukris are a good weapon for small PCsso, not that unused other than on normal size ones.
Halberds are the most epic weapon anywhere. I mean, a spear and an axe have a baby, and what is that baby? 'Tis a halberd!
TBH, no one [hardly anyone?] uses battle axes [in one hand] or light flails!
Yeah, tridents on someone who's NOT an umberlite or Sahuagin is a good one.
I was trying to think or weapons that are unused for reasons other than just "mechanically inferior". I see a lot fewer warxaxes than Bastardswords, although possibly as waraxe/battleaxe skins are a bit interchangeable I miss them.
Ah. Quarterstaff as a combat weapon. I ran a Bard using one but got bored with him. There are some good staffs about. Possibly a Strength based pure Rogue with a Quarterstaff and Dirty Fighting? Actually, I've never seen a Rogue with a Spear before. Multiclass to Sorc or Bard or something, take Spear :D
There's also Katanas, I've seen myabe 2 surface PCs with those.
I love Katanas. Adore them. But being forced into using it one handed and not being able to use Finesse with it kinda forces it to be used like a Bastard Sword. So if your gonna sue a Katana... might as well use the much more common Bastard Sword.
1 light hammers
2 kurkis
3 kamas
4 sickles
5 light flail
My top five
I agree with Raposa Fox, actually. That seems accurate to me.
Katana's. I think the only ones I saw was a busted up one, standard-issue ones no one used, at Claria Fireheart's (back in old EfU)
kukri's unused? they are amazing for dual wielding. godlike in the hands of a WM. I'm surprised that they go unused if what you say is true.
light hammers take the cake.
Duel wield dead fish or dead rat clubs..
Kukris would -good- weapons if not exotic. That is why in 3.5 they are martial weapons. Anyway, they are rarely used. WMs don't get the crit improvement soon enough to make them good at EfU. All they have is the style, in my opinion. And style counts a lot, in my book.
I'll make you an offer, people.
Design me some powerful but flavorful customised versions of Raposa_Fox's top 5 weapons that'll put them up to spec (and maybe far beyond) the more 'common' equipment used. So, that is - the Light Hammer, Kukri, Kama, Sickle and Light Flails. PM them to me, and I'll pick the coolest, neatest ones to go on to my avatar. And thusly, eventually, into the module itself
♥♥♥
Nuke
Really, there are some good light flails. The Dead Rat's useful, and on par with a battleaxe with its masive crits. It just looks silly :D
My version of the club:
Salami +1
Fists.
Make some damn monks people.
Monks are overpowered.
Sickle.
Only seen one person use one.
Katana...I am the only person who uses a katana that I've seen on the surface.
Was that me using a sickle? That was Bank's usual melee weapon, there's an awesome one with +1 Reflex and Will Saves.
TeufelHunden, I've seen at least two other PCs using one. THe difficulty is that they never drop and they are also a pain to get hold of. There's maybe 2 places that sell basic ones, and they are not easy to reach for a while. It would be nice to see an upgraded katana as say, 600 gold shoploot in the blacksmith who sells one, so you can acquire a good one, but you can't just stumble across them. Keeps it suitably exotic, but lets katana specialists get weapon equivalent to the decent bastardswords.
