A simple suggestion: could everyone please use only one time when saying when events, etc will take place, please? I get crazy everytime I have to find out what EST, GMT, GMT + X means in my timezone.
Since the forum time is GMT, I propose everyone use only this time from now on.
Please!
Yeah. This.
There's no way to enforce this.

I dont think it was about enforcing TBH:P I thought we're all a dandy bunch who could agree on something as simple as that, with the help of a DM crew, who just write a single post-announcement/sticky with a simple message such as: "For the sake of courtesy and ease, we kindly ask the players/DM's to post the time of the event in the GMT time".
Yeah, no enforcing, just making this usage sugested and common sense. Good idea!
Eastern Standard Time (EST) was named the "Standard" EfU time long ago, mostly because Howland lives there and/or the server resides there and it's certainly a place where many of our players live too. Which works out for me!
The only timezone I would even suggest as a possible alternative would be PST because we have so many dirty West Coast hippies hanging around.
Don't care.
Eh, doubt many people could be overly bothered figuring out what time the standard would be in translation to their own times.
I mostly couldn't.
The one time zone....
TO RULE THEM ALL!!
Most people tend to list stuff in EST or CST anyway from my experience.
Learn maths. Learn geography. You know, real life stuff? It helps, sometimes.
Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5) is the official Time zone of EfU.
Days shift from one day to the next at midnight EST.
Frankly though, people just need to learn how to read time in GMT.
It's remarkably simple once you figure it out.
(explain? what? no, I'm going to sleep. 20 minutes ago.)
This has relevance, I think.

I agree with Letsplayforfun on this. Basic maths and geography, and you won't have any problems.
As I scroll down to the bottom I see, "All times are GMT. The time now is 12:44 PM." I suppose a bit of reinforcement for that standard couldn't hurt. It's certainly not a bad suggestion, but if you have further points of concern, you might name them more specifically. Little things like "tweaking" the forum time zone likely wouldn't take 2 minutes each without any complications.
Google "Time zone Conversion".
Voila
Even if you don't understand timezones, look at the GMT time on the forum. Then look at your clock. The difference is your relative GMT time. After that it's simple addition/subtraction.
Or has been said, Google is incredibly handy as well.

That's got to be the most stupid post I've seen on these forums. I know maths and geography, thank you.
About the suggestion, if people don't feel like using only one time, then at least they could say how many hours their event is from their post. It's quick, easy, and it doesn't force everyone who doesn't live in their timezone to do the annoying process of converting it to their own.
Clearly we all ought to adopt Swatch Internet time.

Oh, and bust out the dvorak keyboards while you're at it. Maybe a good healthy dose of the american system of measures for all you crazy metric users out there.
