Title: Beastform doesn't drop a pack...
Post by: djspectre on June 02, 2009, 07:22:22 AM
Maybe this is not a new bug, but when a player plays a monster character and dies, no pack is dropped and no inventory items are dropped.

This happened tonight and then the player logged off almost immediately with what we believed to be several thousand in coin and likely enough supplies to have given at least something to our party.

Not sure really how this can be fixed, but I am reporting it anyway.

Coin was dropped. Fine with no consumables. If you SD them and beat them up then that stuff drops. Just not if you go straight for FD.

then if coin was dropped then it was icly lied about being found by who ever took it. alright. but no equipment drops though.

I know there was just a discussion about this in IRC, but for people who don't hang out there the info out here is useful.

Huh?

The IG kudos should be enough i would have thought? Not worth changing.

IG wise just RP that on shapechange all items are "absorbed" by the beast or some such.

No offense, but at that point you are changing the RP to reflect the buggy mechanics, rather than fixing the mechanics to reflect the RP.  This would be similar to your character getting hit by a bugged strike of lightning that did 500 damage and instantly killed your character, and you're told to "RP that a deadly strike of lightning hit your character and he disintegrated."  The bottom line is that RP should not revolve around [buggy] mechanics.

In my opinion don't simply Full Damage kill things, but I guess on the same token who knows what kind of silly antics a spoiler would have tried to pull while subdued.  Maybe just keep knocking it down constantly and subduing it, then you could yank the pack... this should be a temporary solution until the problem is fixed, or just a work-around if the main issue is not fixable

Its a minor bug, effecting a very rarely approved prestige race. Just don't see its worth it.
