Title: Please fix transition directions
Post by: lazyturtle on September 15, 2008, 08:25:47 AM
I just started with EfUA and have noticed that many of the transitions put you into an area facing the wrong way (ie moving forward will send you through the transition again).

To make it easier to change everyone should chime in with a list of which transitions need to be turned around.

To start with the one that leads to the scalehill quest (I don't remember the exact name of the area but I will update next time I play...something Wall).

Thanks!

Seconded, though I can't think of any atm.

Yes. We're cracking down on messy transitions. If you can put them here, it would make the job of finding them easier.

Thanks!

When entering the camp to the Archaeological Society, you face the wrong way. I'm not sure why that is. Did I implement the door in the wrong direction?

I believe the actual issue lies with the waypoints that the transitions point to. It should be as simple as rotating them by 180°

No, this is the issue.

Before 1.69, you could hook up doors/transitions directly with little problem (no use of WPs required).

After 1.69, there is this annoying issue where doors that are hooked up directly spit the PC out oriented badly.

So the solution is indeed to send the person to a WP pointing the right way, which is how I've built many of my transitions but there are certainly many that would need to be swapped over.

Mmgh...

An irritating bug that should eventually be stamped out. Many of us did not realize this was an issue when we started building, but hopefully it will not be one for very long.

That's annoying. I'll start fixing any I see.
