As most of you are probably aware, I live in Japan and am training here in the way of the Manga or comic book! Yes folks, you read that right.
Coming up I have an assignment, which in a nutshell is, write a 16 page manga!
Now this is a tall order because its hard to tell a whole story in just 16 pages! For those of you who read manga, 16 pages is about 1 chapter's length.
I would really love to do something based around an episode of EFU, be it from the history or something PCs may have done, however, keep in mind that it can not be overly complicated and can not rely on understanding of Forgotten Realms concepts in order to be understood as a manga.
So please, if anyone has ideas of cool situations and/or screenshots of said situations, outline what happened here! If it fits, and is cool, you may find it being turned into a manga!

I have some good stories from EFU times, but I'm not sure if they're in depth enough for a manga. I'll attempt to remember to not be lazy enough and take that extra step to type them up and send them to you. :)

Hey guys! Thanks for the ideas, keep them coming, but throwing out names doesnt mean I have any idea what they are! You have to give me a little more. Here's an example:

Think average of 6 panels per page, we're talking short story here. Give me some character info on your hero. His enemy, or what he tried to do, and then a quick overview of what happened. Keep it coming guys.

Considering you didn't really play till after the move, Mr late-is-better-than-never, I don't know how much this is worth, but Sanctuary had a very rich history which that of the Ziggurat does not compare to; if there's a specific event (shameless self-promoting (http://www.escapefromunderdark.com/old_forums/viewtopic.php?t=31299)) you're interested in we can probably work something out.

Guys, sweet ideas, but seriously, except for Ommadawn, you're not giving me the information I need. I wasn't around for most of the original efu. I was there for Tooth's rebellion and that's about it. If you say "The assault on the Goblins of lower" or "Revealing Sheriff Azzim was enthralled" or anything that is just a few words, I have no idea what that means! I need characters, plot, some kind of background info.
I can't tell the whole story of Sanctuary obviously, I could tell the founding maybe if I knew what actually happened! Or I could tell short snips of your characters lives, if one of you did something awesome, or had a great villain and came head to head, things like that. Tell me about your favorite characters, guys, and what they did and why they were so cool!
I don't want huge server wide events like "Red Elient" here, I want a short story with cool characters that I can tell in only 16 pages. That is all, please bring forth the ideas.

The fact that no one really seems to be taking this seriously and isn't contributing is both shocking and disappointing.
Dash is offering to make something awesome and hardly anyone seems interested in helping.
To help the retarded, here are the logs of what I suggested to Dash. Note that I was being completely self-serving and only telling a story from one of my own characters. That's -okay-, here, this isn't Roleplayer Recognition so much as "holy fucking shit, dude, you should illustrate and publish the best scene that happened to my favorite character, HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY IT'S AWESOME."

some questions are asked, and the name of the villain is learned - Dimes. The lawman is mad. loses his mind over it, and stalks to the rough side of town as his compatriots tug at his sleeves, yelling: no! No, it isn't worth it!
He arrives in the slums where the villain is laughing about the handiwork with his boys, the lawman froths at the mouth, outraged at the inhumanity - he calls the thug out, demands justice-
And the lawman is butchered in an instant, as a crowd of outraged spectators look on-
did this happen to you >.>
cut away, to the final page of the manga- and the thug's head is on a pike, and justice served.
it took me 4 minutes to type this in IRC, and provided a complete short story arc that is actually partially workable except for certain problems (children exploding is not really okay, apparently.)
I wasn't around for the founding of Sanctuary, all the information I know about it stems from reading the website, both the new and old ones.
In fact, the DM's themselves would likely have the best information about various cool stories and ALL the awesome parts to give to you. Especially such events as the founding of Sanctuary, which many of us weren't around for.
Us players rarely get to see the complete story unfold from more than one perspective, which isn't a very good angle for storytelling.
Go with the Spellguard story, Dash. Do it. It's an amazing piece, and doesn't need any real explaining to be an interesting tale.

I also provided some examples of interesting PC villains/factions. And could have easily kept going!
The final death of the tigereyes -- Howland can tell you more but the scene is a tense accusation, standoff over lt tyderious's role in the fall of the tigereyes + betrayel of the captain, then a sweet fight where terio menthur proves victorious, leaves the tigereyes to tane and escapes to surface with babe in arm. Get details + characters from howland but I am convinced it would be a tremendous single chapter. Gotta run!
Goos Characters are: Terio - older suave moustached warrior and bard, Daniel Tane - young charismatic fighter with bastard sword, Mordor - Duergar fighter, Juline - eyepatched former quartermaster now forced to serve drinks too...
Villians: Lt Tiderious - half-drow fallen into decadence and drunkeness after betraying the tigereyes and collecting the bounty on them, surly drunken former tiger-eye betayers about 10 of these
The scene starts with the good three Terio, Tane, Mordur, donning the tigereye uniform and compng out of hiding in the back alleys of lower, and marching to the bar where Tidellious has taken up residence. People bolt their doors and run in fear.
The three survey the disgraceful unkempt lot that the betrayers have become march into the basement and have a tense standoff with the LT before he admits to his part on the betrayel.
Wild fight. Terio kills Lt. They find evidence of betrayel.
They walk up, flash LTs head, and Terio declares Tane the new Captain of the Tigereyes, scoops up Juline, and marches off into the darkness.
I always liked Sheriff Hennet's fall but 16 pages might not be enough for that. Also, Melinda Bresley's death and the immediate consequences.
Zovaldar vs. Etorix! Best PVP ever witnessed.
