I'm curious if anyone else has this issue. I'm not sure if it's a game problem, or a problem with my computer.
For some reason, my quickbar doesn't register correctly when I click an item on it. It's generally fine in non-crowded, non-melee situations. I click, it works. However - when I'm an area where there is other PC's or if there's melee happening in my general vicinity (or I'm involved in), my quickbar stops responding correctly. I've had to click on the same thing 4 times in order to get it to register. And then once I do get the click to register, the effect goes off extremely slow. It's not uncommon (and it's starting to happen with alarming frequency) that by the time the effect goes off, the enemy has had at least 2 or more swings at me. It will also happen when I try to switch weapons.
I had two trips to the fugue today because of this little hiccup, so I'd like to see if there's a way to resolve it. Until then I'll have to figure out a way to work around it.
Sooo ... anyone else have this problem ... and how did you fix it?
I had this happen a couple times. Once for items and once for AE.
The AE one resulted in death: "Oh, look a killer beast. I'll just AE it. Hrm, AE button not responding. I'll click it again. Erm... come on... click damn you, Click! CLICK! OMG NOOO CLICK!!!!" It actually happened much faster than that.
The item one, I just set the item down on the ground to clear it from my inventory and cleared the quickslot space (I couldn't right click on the quickslot to clear it, totally wasn't working) and then reslotted.
Are you sure it's not just the deliberate delay on item/special ability use imposed by NWN?
Typically anything you can quickbar you are limited to attempting only once or twice a round.
i.e. wands are limited to use a round, AE is too, potions are twice a round max
It's possible that that is part of what is happening, but certainly not the majority of the time. It frequently happens the first time I try to use a potion, spell, or switch weapons. It simply just does not register correctly that I've clicked anything.
Now, I haven't tried using the "F' keys associated with the slots to see if the same thing happens. I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight.
The other part of the issue is the horrid delay between when it does actually register and the effect going off. It's insane. I've seen it take as long as the enemy taking 2-3 swipes at me before I even move.
(A possibly related, but at the moment separate issue I'm noticing is that my transition time is taking much longer than it used to. I have noticed that the delays and general lagginess has gotten worse with 1.69. So I'm really not sure if it's game or computer related ... I'm thinking it's a bit of both.)
