What if you could make a Wilderness Survival check (once per day) to rest without a fire vs. a certain DC e.g., 20, (perhaps dependent on the weather, etc.)?
What if for every 5 ranks in Swimming you got a +10% move bonus when underwater?
I have been thinking about this system and would like to see it come up a little more for relatively small bonuses (or chances for bonuses) like these.
Suggestions or comments.
I could swear that having ranks in Swimming already grants a bonus to speed.
I think that's why swimming was even added as an efuss skill.
Ranks in swimming already does decrease the underwater move speed penalty. It will never grant a bonus above your characters base run speed, however. Even the fastest olympic swimmers swim at a pace easily matched by the judges walking along the side of the pool.
As for wilderness survival, it already has a scripted use.
i think the passive effects of efuss bonuses are pretty cool, but making any base actions amongst the players depend on them kind of annoying. i don't really play attention to efuss because i don't really see how it has a huge positive impact on my fun
