Title: lol at meldread.
Post by: Thomas_Not_very_wise on October 17, 2009, 02:38:58 AM
Deity: Meldread
Titles:The Complicator, the Maker of Long Winded Posts, He Who Over Analyzes All Issues, The Creator of Headaches.
Symbol:A mass of text.
Alignment: Lawful Evil.
Portfolio:Headaches, Long-Winded posts, Complexity, Over complexity, taking delight in dumb founding others, taking delight in giving others eye defects, taking delight in giving others headaches.
Worshipers: Congressmen, politicians, those who oppose simplicity, lawyers, those who delight in inserting "fine text" limitations and conditions.

Favored Weapon: A pen

History/Relationships: Considered a source of debate, conversation, and dynamic wordism, meldread has always been considered a source of exciting analysis. until recently, Meldread has always been known for long winded, but to the point posts, but as of late, his soul has been twisted by the villainous powers of Equinox, lord of power gamers. Using his powers in order to stupify others into joining his power gaming concepts, Equinox has slowly risen through the echelon of other deities to where he is now...but the current meldread is the price we must all suffer for it.

His followers reside in Japan, where programming geeks take delight in his teachings of long windedness.

Dogma: Say as much as possible about what you now on any given subject. Seek to stun, subvert, and convince any audience that you are indeed right on any issue by simply how much you write or type on it. If you do not know much, research it until you do. Knowledge is the key to any battle and it must be used to your benefit, where you are evidently in the wrong, go back and edit posts to prove that you were right all along. No one will notice a changed paragraph if the entire posts in three pages long. On issues of non-import, seek to change the subject to your favor, and remember, the more text, the more important you look.

My complaint about Thomas Not Very Wise (http://www.pakin.org/complaint/)

I want this letter to serve as an oasis of sanity in Thomas Not Very Wise's desert of foolishness. Let's start with my claim that if I have a bias, it is only against neurotic criticasters who scupper my initiative to lay the groundwork for an upcoming attempt to begin the invigorating, rejuvenating process of responding to Thomas's notions. Not to put too fine a point on it but Thomas intends to create a new social class. Stinking yahoos, purblind beggars, and dirty schmucks will be given aristocratic status. The rest of us will be forced into serving as their factotums.

Thomas will place feral harijans at the head of a nationwide kakistocracy some day—not necessarily by direct action, but by convincing his acolytes to send children to die as martyrs for causes that he is unwilling to die for himself. Perception becomes reality if one is brainwashed for long enough. This is not rhetoric. This is reality. He makes it sound like he has the authority to issue licenses for practicing statism. That's the rankest sort of pretense I've ever heard. The reality is that if Thomas's shell games get any more illiberal, I expect they'll grow legs and attack me in my sleep. I don't know if I speak for anybody but myself on this, but I try never to argue with Thomas because it's clear he's not susceptible to reason.

I don't know if it's stupidity, ignorance, or naïveté that makes Thomas assert that his bruta fulmina prevent smallpox. What I do know, however, is that he claims that he can walk on water. Well, I beg to differ. I never thought I would live to see the day that a froward, haughty analphabetic like him could manage to obliterate our sense of identity. End of story. Actually, I should add that if his thinking were cerebral rather than glandular, Thomas wouldn't consider it such a good idea to force us to experience the full spectrum of the Thomas Not Very Wise Rainbow of Trotskyism.

To join Thomas's gang, one must deal with membership rules, brainwashing rituals, huge amounts of money, and meeting locations enveloped in secrecy, and that's one reason why I'm writing this letter. If Thomas feels ridiculed by all the attention my letters are bringing him, then that's just too darn bad. His arrogance has brought this upon himself. Yes, he may have some superficial charm, but there's something I've observed about Thomas. Namely, he may not know how to spell "protobasidiomycetous", but he undeniably knows how to create a climate of intimidation. I've further observed that Thomas has repeatedly been spotted causing riots in the streets. When questioned about that, he either denies any knowledge of it or offers unbelievable and ludicrous explanations that only a splenetic sot could believe.

The practical struggle which now begins, sketched in broad outlines, takes the following course: No matter what else we do, our first move must be to educate everyone about how it is neither possible nor desirable to ignore the issue of pauperism here. That's the first step: education. Education alone is not enough, of course. We must also guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by Thomas and his cabal. He is still going around insisting that the few of us who complain regularly about his canards are simply spoiling the party. Jeez, I thought I had made it perfectly clear to him that he thinks that he is the one who will lead us to our great shining future. However, his desire to cause (or at least contribute to) a variety of social ills is both a cause and an effect of what we now see as a global increase in cannibalism.

I have a tendency to report the more sensational things that Thomas is up to, the more shocking things, things like how he wants to use mass organization as a system of integration and control. And I realize the difficulty that the average person has in coming to grips with that, but many people lie. However, Thomas lies with such ease it's troubling. If we let him sow the seeds of priggism we'll be reaping the crop for quite a long time. If I had to choose the most poxy specimen from Thomas's welter of fastidious gabble, it would have to be Thomas's claim that the most perfidious autocrats you'll ever see are more deserving of honor than our nation's war heroes. Though Thomas's analects be madness, yet there is method to them. Step by step, they make it easier for him to fuel inquisitions. Are you beginning to get the picture here?

While I agree with others' assessment that Thomas should be responsible for his own actions, still, there is a proper place in life for hatred. Hatred of that which is wrong is a powerful and valuable tool. But when Thomas perverts hatred in order to promote mediocrity over merit, it becomes clear that inasmuch as I disagree with his accusations and find his ad hominem attacks offensive, I am happy to meet his speech with more speech and, if necessary, continue this discussion until the truth shines. We wouldn't currently have a problem with boosterism if it weren't for him. Although Thomas created the problem, aggravated the problem, and escalated the problem, he insists that he can solve the problem if we just grant him more power. How naïve does Thomas think we are? Truly, whenever he announces that he has his moral compass in tact, his votaries applaud on cue and the accolades are long and ostentatious. What's funny is that they don't provide similar feedback whenever I tell them that Thomas plans to use scapegoating as a foil to draw anger away from more accurate targets. What can you do about that? Start by reading about how the idea of basing our entire society on sophomoric Dadaism is so far from reality, it's laughable. Become informed about the deceit, lies, and propaganda surrounding his promotion of autism. Tell everyone you know that Thomas speaks like a true defender of the status quo—a status quo, we should not forget, that enables him to shank the working class in the back to keep the cash spigots flowing.

Thomas never tires of trying to extinguish fires with gasoline. He presumably hopes that the magic formula will work some day. In the meantime, he seems to have resolved to learn nothing from experience, which tells us that he has—not once, but several times—been able to blame those who have no power to change the current direction of events without anyone stopping him. How long can that go on? As long as his intolerant bunco games are kept on life support. That's why we have to pull the plug on them and tell you a little bit about him and his ethically bankrupt beliefs (as I would certainly not call them logically reasoned arguments). He is planning to hoodoo us. This does not bode well for the future because this makes me fearful that I might someday find myself in the crosshairs of his dim-witted put-downs. (To be honest, though, it wouldn't be the first time.)

It's Thomas's deep-seated belief that he is forward-looking, open-minded, and creative. Sure, he might be able to justify conclusions like that—using biased or one-sided information, of course—but I prefer to know the whole story. In this case, the whole story is that I once tried to explain to Thomas that his ideologies will direct social activity toward philanthropic flimflam rather than toward the elimination of the basic deficiencies in the organization of our economic and cultural life. Rather than feel ashamed of himself, Thomas got angry at me. What this says is that when people see bitter fruitcakes behaving like bitter fruitcakes they begin to realize that I want to address the legitimate anger, fear, and alienation of people who have been mobilized by Thomas because they saw no other options for change. That may seem simple enough, but it would be great if we could comment on Thomas's apologues. Still, if we take a step, just a step, towards addressing the issue of misoneism, then maybe we can open people's eyes (including our own) to a vision of how to hone in on Thomas's faults with laser-like precision. So, Thomas, maybe the problem is not with infernal rapscallions, but with you.

There's a little-known truth that isn't readily acknowledged by noisome yokels: Thomas is stepping over the line when he attempts to skewer me over a pit barbecue—way over the line. Do you really want him to rouse the agitated petite bourgeoisie to chauvinistic fervor and hoodwink them into turning positions of leadership into positions of complacency? I think not. He can't seriously believe that his half-measures are good for the environment, human rights, and baby seals, can he? One might as well ask, "What would his response be if someone suggested that he clings to voyeurism like a drowning man clings to a life preserver?" If I'm not mistaken, there's a painfully simple answer. It regards the way that his goal is to oppose the visceral views of 98 percent of the nation's citizens. The toll in human suffering and the loss of innocent lives that will ensue are clearly nonissues for him. Please forgive the following sermon, but it can't be avoided in this discussion: The biggest difference between me and Thomas is that Thomas wants to create a new fundamentalism based not on religion but on an orthodoxy of exhibitionism. I, on the other hand, want to take personal action and offer true constructive criticism—listening to the whole issue, recognizing the problems, recognizing what is being done right, and getting involved to help remedy the problem. In Thomas Not Very Wise's line of business, you don't need to know what you're talking about. Do give that some thought.

My complaint about Equinox[/u]

In this letter, I would like to share with you some thoughts I originally organized to explain a few facets of this confusing world around us. Let's review the errors in Equinox's statements in order. First, Equinox wants to rid the world of "defective" people. He wants us to believe that we can solve all of our problems by giving him lots of money. We might as well toss that money down a well because we'll never see it again. What we will see, however, is that I reject Equinox's demands. That's not something that we learn in school—though it should be. That's not something that we emote about while watching movies and TV shows—though it should be. What it is is something that tells us loudly and clearly that Equinox's impudent doctrines are in full flower, and their poisonous petals of wowserism are blooming all around us. As I have tried to show in this letter, Equinox discounts important principles of our culture as mere platitudes. As long as you remember that, we may yet be able to provide a trenchant analysis of Equinox's beliefs.

MY COMPLAINT ABOUT PESTILENCE

Quote from: Pestilence;149773There are people I unmistakably despise. They lack morals, character, and honesty. They utilize questionable and illegal fund-raising techniques. In case you can't tell, I'm talking about Pestilence here. As I elaborate on that concept throughout this letter I will use only simple words and language so that even a child can understand my message. Yes, even a child should know that we must understand that Pestilence's propinquity to garrulous blackguards leads him to relabel millions of people as "witless". And we must formulate that understanding into as clear and cogent a message as possible. Those of you who thought that he was finally going to leave us alone are in for a big surprise because he recently announced his plans to open the floodgates of unilateralism.
I had thought the world was free of the worst classes of blockish, sanctimonious rascals there are. So imagine my surprise when I discovered that Pestilence wants to marginalize me based on my gender, race, or religion. If he truly believes that a plausible excuse is a satisfactory substitute for performance, then maybe he should enroll in Introduction to Reality 101. He says that he is a man of peace. What balderdash! What impudence! What treachery!
I am truly at a loss for words when Pestilence asserts that space gods arriving in flying saucers will save humanity from self-destruction. He can't possibly be serious. I, for one, suspect that the real story here is that I receive a great deal of correspondence from people all over the world. One of the things that impresses me about all of it is the massive number of people who realize that Pestilence's propositions are an icon for the deterioration of the city, for its slow slide into crime, malaise, and filth.
Ask Pestilence about any of his stooges who replace our timeless traditions with Pestilence's censorious, cranky ones, and the prudish, diabolic moral weakling will say, "I never meant they should go that far." Yeah, right. The truth is that if it were up to Pestilence, schoolchildren would be taught reading, 'riting, and racism. He must have recently made a huge withdrawal from the First National Bank of Lies. How else could Pestilence manage to tell us that might makes right?
Can you really blame me for suggesting that we must publicly distance ourselves from recalcitrant quidnuncs? I feel that it can be safely said that Pestilence has nephelococcygic delusions about being able to court a confused minority of wild misers. Sure, some of his equivocations are valid but that's not the point. His secret passion is to threaten the common good. For shame!
If the human race is to survive on this planet, we will have to bring the communion of knowledge to all of us. Pestilence claims to be supportive of my plan to warn the public against those macabre hoodlums whose positive accomplishments are always practically nil but whose conceit can scarcely be excelled. Don't trust him, though; he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Before you know it, he'll supplant one form of injustice with another. Not only that, but I shall not argue that Pestilence's newsgroup postings are an authentic map of his plan to shame the poor into blaming themselves for losing the birth lottery. Read them and see for yourself.
Again, we mustn't let Pestilence pursue a twofold credo of irrationalism and negativism. That would be like letting the Mafia serve as a new national police force in Italy. This is a suitable place in the letter to explain how his ruses are entirely soporific regardless of the way, shape, or form in which he presents them. Unfortunately, I'll have to skip that rather intersting discussion because I have bigger fish to fry. In particular, I need to tell you that Pestilence's cat's-paws lie about their theatrics, and then, when we're all convinced that no harm will be done, they make bigotry respectable. Yes, I could add that almost every discussion of animalism ignores the critical importance of his combative crusades, but I wanted to keep my message simple and direct. I didn't want to distract you from the main thrust of my message, which is that while Pestilence is out increasing society's cycle of hostility and violence, the general public is shouldering the bill. Sadly, this is a bill of shattered minds, broken hearts and homes, depression and all its attendant miseries, and a despondency about Pestilence's attempts to poke and pry into every facet of our lives.
The poisonous wine of oligarchism had been distilled long before Pestilence entered the scene. Pestilence is merely the agent decanting the poisonous fluid from its bottle into the jug that is world humanity. He obviously didn't have to pass an intelligence test to get to where he is today because his knowledge of how things work is completely off the mark. First of all, if you've never seen Pestilence force us to bow down low before stuck-up sots, you're either incredibly unobservant or are concealing the truth from yourself. He never tires of trying to extinguish fires with gasoline. Pestilence presumably hopes that the magic formula will work some day. In the meantime, he seems to have resolved to learn nothing from experience, which tells us that I believe in "live and let live". Pestilence, in contrast, demands not only tolerance and acceptance of his monographs but endorsement of them. It's because of such officious demands that I think that this is a lesson for those with eyes to see. It is a lesson not so much about his hate-filled behavior but about the way that he is unfit to hold any responsible position in government or anywhere else. The best example of this, culled from many, would have to be the time he tried to deface property with racially and sexually derogatory epithets and offensive symbols.
Even people who consider themselves cruel undesirables generally agree that Pestilence has frequently been spotted making nicey-nice with snarky, odious beguilers. Is this because he needs their help to put political correctness ahead of scientific rigor? To help answer that question I will offer a single anecdote. A few weeks ago, I overheard some morbid slanderer tell everyone who passed by that everything will be hunky-dory if we let Pestilence "solve" all our problems by talking them to death. Astounded, I asked this person if he realized that Pestilence's failure to acknowledge that I don't know how he can be so morally repugnant is so incorrigible that Pestilence supports a range of policies and programs that haven't worked, that don't work, and that can't be made to work in the real world—not without creating problems worse than what they were intended to solve, that is. Not only was his answer "no" but it was also news to him that I don't want to build castles in the air. I don't want to plan things that I can't yet implement. But I do want to champion the poor and oppressed against the evil of Pestilence because doing so clearly demonstrates how I believe I have finally figured out what makes people like him perpetuate inaccurate and dangerous beliefs about male-female relationships. It appears to be a combination of an overactive mind, lack of common sense, assurance of one's own moral propriety, and a total lack of exposure to the real world.
In the strictest sense, if we let Pestilence sow the seeds of fogyism we'll be reaping the crop for quite a long time. It's his belief that my letters demonstrate a desire to violate strongly held principles regarding deferral of current satisfaction for long-term gains. I can't understand how anyone could go from anything I ever wrote to such a grungy, passive-aggressive idea. In fact, my letters generally make the diametrically opposite claim, that I once told Pestilence that questionable statistics, pseudoscientific studies, and biased reports introduce a zeitgeist of careerism to our society. How did he respond to that? He proceeded to curse me off using a number of colorful expletives not befitting this letter, which serves only to show that I appreciate feedback and other people's views on subjects. I don't, however, appreciate feedback when it's given in an unprofessional manner. Let me end by saying that I know that what I have written in this letter will send many readers (especially any who are big fans of Pestilence) into a tizzy or a tantrum. I am sorry, but I remind them that I can't begin to relate how much sleep I lost when I first heard that Pestilence has been brainwashing the masses into submission.

This is definitely a horrible player.

Deity: Listen In Silence
Title: The Creator, The Maker, the Lord of Fashion, the Elitist.
Symbol: The Toolset
portfolio The Creation of Worlds, Flawless Fashion.
Alignment True Neutral
Weapon of choice: Whatever looks aesthetically suitable at the time.
Worshipers: Those who play on his awesome Campaigns. Elitists

History/relationships: Regarded as an over deity by some, in very few circumstances, Listen in Silence is an enigmatic figure who rarely pays attention to the petty demands of Equinox or the the long winded complicated analysis of Meldread. Rather, he listens to their quibbling and draws inspiration from Starless night's humorous summarizing of all things. He feuds constantly with Chrijone and General Shadow, thinking their ways noobish and outdated, they in return regard him as an overblown elitist and try and bring him to their level of gandering.

His relationship with Thomas_the_unwise is mysterious, often the two are seen as friends, but they never seem to actually join together in making awesome. This has puzzled the other deities severely, and often encourage the two to do something together.

Dogma: Seek to create only beautiful things, and the world you make should be in your own image. strike down those who scorn your work, for they do not know true works of art. Seek to create a wondrous world wherever you go, and always seek to instill a sense of reality and potential dread. Spurn noobs from your questing parties and worlds, they shall only lower the expectations and awesome of what you seek to create. Be you good or evil, the World Maker will be by your side.

Titles: The Gangster, the champion of Lower. Lord of thugs.
Symbol: A Red Star
Portfolio: Lower Sanctuary, Thugs, Gangs.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Weapon of Choice: KNUCKLES
WorshipersThe Scum of the Earth, Thugs, Gangs, followers.

History/Relationships: Canzah has always been the Lord of which is lower, his followers consist of the scum of the earth and his behavior represents this. His poor grammar and characters have inspired factions of thugs and bullies to become successful, and he is opposed by any lawful deity that exists. His chaotic nature makes him unpredictable- which is his key to success. However, he is filled with Nostalgia at having his most powerful power base destroyed in Lower Sanctuary, and he seeks to renew this power in the Docks of the Ziggurat.

Dogma: Get it done right the first time. Law means shit and you got to do what you got to do with your fists. It's the only rule you need. Keep your rivals off your turf and recruit thugs and gangs to follow the Lord canzah. Oppose the idiots like VP who thinks themselves better than everyone else. Jump monsters are every opportunity, and remember, it ain't over till I say it's over.

Deity: Thomas the Unwise
Titles: The Aspiring Youth, The Eternal Straggler
Symbol: A Ball and Chain
Portfolio: Background characters, cautious powerquesting, loose networks of friendship
Alignment: Neutral Good
Weapon of Choice: Club
Worshipers: The players of minions, the young and the newbies. Those who dream of recognition

History/Relationships: It is unknown how The Eternal Straggler came to become a deity. It is widely considered it might have been as a pun by the overgod, or through some magical accident by a Greater Deity. What is known however, is that he has grown significantly since he emerged. Through the years since he arrived, he has been considered many things by the other deities.

Some have scorned him, others encouraged or even helped him while many more have simply stared at him with befuddled disbelief. All the years he has been known to tie alliances, rarely to his own favour, with selfish deities of great agendas. He has never truly profited from this, tending instead to gullibly assist these deities with all they wish, only to crash utterly and restart his climb of the ladder when they no longer have need of him.

Lately, he has often been influenced by The Power Gamer to join in excessive questing, and been fooled into believing that this is a true means to recognition. His goal has always been to be held in high regard by the other deities, yet has with time instead been transformed into a stepping stone for the new deities to push off from on their rise.

Dogma: Strive always to improve yourself; the best means to do this is by having as many friends as possible. Trust always in your friends, for even when it seems they don't care at all, it is surely so they are just having a rough time.

Quest frequently, but interrupt your questing with frequent sessions of irrelevant roleplay, and long winded emotes. Always act as if you're more powerful than you are, and eventually you will also become what you appear.

When attacked, you should never be afraid to retreat. Running is a sign of wisdom in many cases. And staying to fight can really hurt.

Worshipers: Clowns, Moles, those who find amusement in all things.
Weapon of Choice: Laughing Gas.

History/Relationships: The Nemesis of none and ally to none, the JollyMole is universally acknowledged as the lord of laughter and no one wishes to contest his place in the multiverse in such. His words are constantly mocked and he just giggles them away with good humor so no one really dislikes him. He is considered an irrelevant deity, but one to hang out with when feeling down (He gives free beer).

Dogma: Seek to spread laughter and liquor wherever you go, no place should go without at least a gallon of whiskey or bourbon. Laugh off the fat jokes that come your way and be jolly in all things. Spread the Teachings of the DajollyMole and see to it that everyone laughs at something as you pass by.

Fools on parade
Cavort and carry on
See waiting eyes
That you'd rather be beside than infront of
But she’s never been the kind to be hollowed by the stares.

She swam out of tonight’s phantasm
Grabbed my hand and made it very clear
There's absolutely nothing for us here
It's a magnolia celebration to be attempted on a Wednesday night
It's better than to get a reputation for miserable little tyke
At least that’s the conclusion you came to in this overture

The secret door swings behind us
She’s saying nothing
She’s just giggling along.

Her arms were folded most indignant
Not looking like she was soon to leave
I had to squint in order to believe
And then like a pull and push in on a bookshelf
I'm unveiling the unexpected
How he was ever gonna look to her
Should've been embarrassed and corrected
How could such a creature survive in such a habitat.

The secret door swings behind us
She's saying nothing
She's just giggling along
And even if they were to find us
I wouldn't notice, I'm completely occupied
At all the...

Fools on parade
Cavort and carry on
See waiting eyes
That you would rather be beside than in front of
But she’s never been the kind to be hollowed by the stares.

Fools on parade
Frolic and fuck about to make her gaze
Turn to a scribble on a page by a picture
That holds her options
But you’re daft to think she'd care.

Quote from: Letsplayforfun;149837wtf?

I can't determine if it's a joke or a vendetta, so i guess if it's a joke it's not that funny. If it's a vendetta it shouldn't be here.

It's not a joke.  As I said, I am happy to meet his speech with more speech and, if necessary, continue this discussion until the truth shines.

Also, Thomas is behind the global increase in cannibalism.  Especially among mothers who devour their young.
