Alright, so I bought a new computer. A black one no less. HP other than that I can't tell you much about it, other than it is running Windows 7 as an operating system.

How do I make NWN work with it. When I install and try to update and it aborts saying something of a critical update.

Have you tried clicking the link, following the instructions and running the critical update?

No sweat. Go here (//%22http://nwn.bioware.com/support/patch_english_hotu.html%22) and get the critical rebuild.

ok - clicked the link. Got an update. When I click the NWN icon it eventually comes up to the: Play / Toolset / DM Client / etc menu. When I click play, the menu goes away and nothing happens after that.

Ideas?

It works.

A bit different than before but if I run the autoexec from HotU, and then give it permission to make changes everytime I try to open it, I can access the game.

While we're at it, does anyone know how to get Vista or 7.0 from constantly asking if we want to allow it to open NWN?

Turn off the UAC (User Account Control). On the other side I don't know what is so hard about clicking 'yes' once.
