They might be dangerous but they're a guaranteed drop of a *spoiler* potion and I thought those were meant to be unbrewable and kind of rare. They stopped dropping those ages back as people were practically farming them.
I think the shield potions are kind of pushing it, and certain breeds of characters can easily 'farm' ogre bandits for that stuff, but overall I don't think they will make a huge difference.
Also, I am pretty sure that adding that stuff was in response to a call to make the wilds easier. lol !
For the life of me, I cannot understand why people complain about things such as this. As it is an unbrewable potion, this gives an opportunity to snatch a few. Hardly overpowering.
Ogre Bandits aren't ~that~ often spawns, and you really have to be dedicated to farm them.
I think they're fine as is, and are certainly a challenge for anyone that wants to take them on.

I can think of an example where I came into an area, killed an ogre, transed away for about five mins, came back, and there it was again.

Rare coincidence, I've gone through the most of the wilds and haven't find a single ogre at times.
Ogre bandits aren't terribly common and are pretty boss, so I have I hard time thinking you'd accumulate any goodly number of shield potions in this manner. If I'm way off base, horde the shit out of them. Shield potions are useful but are hardly game breaking.
I dobut many PCs can solo an ogre also. So the number of shielf potions that will be adquired will have to be split into several players, OR you play a cleric. And thouse are OP anyways.
They are tough to kill, too; you'll spend a few supplies and get a few potions. Pretty fair, IMO.
WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH BEADS
imo they should drop more potions

Don't respond to bots guys, you only make yourself look stupid when we clean them up.

The Ogres are not that easy, a few potions is OK to gain from it. I've been killed by one when it was at badly wounded, and I raged at level 6 and charged it ._.
Deserve potions!!
(Some elf came around and took'em)
I 100% agree with this suggestion. Chosen of Gaathmar drop a deserved pile of potions -- Ogre Bandits do not. They're easy if you've got any support at all. Which you should, if you're wandering the wilds, eh?
The reason I suggested this is not "OMG people are going into the wilds with Waraxe-swinging L9 Good/Trickery Domain Clerics of Baravar/Dwarven FE Giant Fullplate Rangers and rickroll Ogres", it's a combination of factors.
- You usually do end up facing them in a group and getting a daft "starting blocks, people" scenario because everyone wants the Haste and Shield pots. They are not an uncommon foe and they are making shield a lot more reliable to acquire IMO.
- Because there are other spawns capable of killing these, it is possible to acquire some very good stuff off bodies.
- Ogre Bandits used to be an annoyance. Now, they're practically a resource with the right team, but not for any good IC reason.
I don't think they shouldn't drop any potions, but that the haste and shield could be removed and instead they drop a random assortment.
Yes the potions should definitely be adjusted. Sorry guys.
Aww thanks for ruining my ogre farm!!!
Joke aside. I am all for random loot on the ogres. Could be haste potion! Could be shielding potions! Or it could be crap.
Make it random, none 1, 2 or 3 of the potions they get now maybe?
so unfair now my invis prebuff ganks will be harder, damn you Howland!
