Title: Let me tell you about Jean Katreya
Post by: Caster13 on March 07, 2010, 12:51:37 AM
Jean Katreya (Caster1333)

This character was created on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 at 06:58:51 PM.
Since creation, this character has logged on and off 206 times.
The character has spent 12 days, 20 hours, 0 minutes, and 29 seconds online.

Honestly, I don't even remember what the original impetus was for creating Jean. I guess I just felt like playing a nature PC. The neatest thing of all, however, was that she ended up being the first PC I ever created the successfully joined a DM faction.

I've been really lazy with PC names lately and stole her last name from some radio personality (Kelly Cutrara, if you're in the Toronto area). I obviously got that spelled wrong.

I suppose I'll start off with Farrow, one of my earliest and favourite interactions was with lovethesuit's wereboar. While at the same time Jean tried to calm and put the fire out on his hate, she also learned a lot of the necessary cruelty of nature from him.

Jean did a little bit of spying, but not much.

Oh no! It's the FOUR FOOT TERROR!

Onyx was cool. I was hoping Jean and her could get to know each other very well (mostly because Jean also wanted a well placed informant inside), but she unfortunately got assassinated.

I didn't get a chance to interact with Maggy as much as i liked, but I thought this little conversation was wonderful.

The funeral of Oraso, Haevn, and Yema. I totally wanted to play the rebel here and decided to appear as a Raven as little momento mori.

As a Chauntean, I wanted Jean to sit right smack-dab in the middle of the Civilization/Colony-Nature/Wilds scale. Here's her tipping a little towards eating-friends-like-a-Stargazer.

The Ivor Kalstoff vs. Stargazer conflict. Well... Damn. There's a lot I could say about it, but I think I'll just stick with it was intense, and it was a blast. (And, yes, Jean had Kalstoff killed, no other comments >_>)

Some campfire talk with some others.

What's this? Some plottage is what!

The Underdark! I was really surprised when we reached it with, what I thought, was little trouble. Unfortunately, the Underdark--because partly of my own restricted play time--while nostalgic wasn't as great as I remembered it. It was down in the Underdark that I realized and decided that I didn't have the time to play EfU like I wanted to because of my schedule.

Howland spiced me, Leged, and Titania with a little bit of Koboldiness. Great hilarity.

Rat form is fun.

And finally...

Looks familiar, doesn't it?

Anyhow, like I said above, I'm lacking for time when it comes to EfU. I can't play as long as I want, as much as I want in a day like I did when I only had to deal with approximately 3 hours of school per day and no full time job. So, I'll be taking a break, I suppose. I've got a fair pile of console games I need to make my way through (Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, Mass Effect 2 and maybe even more I might want to buy, I hear Bayonetta's some silly fun).

Naturally, I'll be back of course, like I did with Jean. Till then, you guys better keep on rocking the server like you've always done!

I would've liked to Rped more with Jean but the few experiences I had with her were very cool, especially the one where I ended up without a throat.

If you do get back, I look forward to what you wrangle up.

The thing about Jean, that I think is most emblematic of what made her an excellent character was the way her journal traced the process of her learning about the world. An idealist, perhaps naive, in the beginning, to a more realistic and perhaps more cynical person in her later days, but still basically good, throughout.

It showed the depth of realization that you put into each character you play. Your efforts to make her into a breathing and natural part of the world that she inhabited (excuse the obvious puns there) is duly appreciated.

Heard so much about you  and then only one short adventure together. Loved the character (briefly) and when you have time very much look forward to the next one.

Really interesting, inspiring screenshots to come across. Amazing PC from the looks of things; I'm kicking myself I didn't get the chance to interact with you more. Good luck with whatever, and hope to see your return soon enough!

We gotta chat in that case, I think you know what about.

Jean was a great character. Also, is that armor she's wearing the set Bailey sold her still?

Yes, I'm sorry, but she's dead >_>

And yep, that's still the Grugor Leathers that Bailey sold her. It's gone through a couple of different dying cycles, but it's still it.

I'm so sad that Jean is dead, she was an amazing pc and I was so happy to have got to be involved in the Stewards with her.
I had hoped for many more wonderful, long conversations in future and much more nature based plotting!
Can't wait to see your next pc, Caster and enjoy the break!

Though I only meant Jean briefly, she was a fun char. I hope to see your next char in game soon. You added alot to the nature faction, i'm sure you will add to whatever venture/faction you join next.
