I did a search in the forums, but couldn't see if anyone has ever asked this before:
Is it possible to have custom colored light for spells like Light and Continual Flame? Like say, you could choose between White, Red, Green, or Blue light radius?
I think it would add to the awesome with RP portrayal of different faiths, as well as different wizard's styles.
Also, it may bring the "light" back to using these spells, as I don't see them used very often. Plus, certain characters aren't as inclined to cast a bright white Light spell, but a different color might suit them just fine. ;)
If this is simple to arrange, I'm actually quite inclined to agree with the OP.
I know a certain wizard of mine wanted say, a red light effect and had to carry some piece of random quest loot simply for that sake.
A simple spell instead would be neat.
Uh.. I can also see clerics who are blessing someone in a roleplay situation perhaps use a light spell with the color associated with the diety etc etc.
While we're at it, the Light spell should also give -10 to hide.

Unless you're hiding in the core of the sun, in which case it should give a +10 bonus.
I believe that having a light source on you does that anyway, by giving a +10 to Spot checks against you. I think Cruzel posted a list of spot modifiers somewhere.
Custom colors would be cool for continual light also for those clerics that want to perma enchant shields and armor with a light radius.
Unless changed for EFU, the spell 'light' does not affect stealth in vanilla NWN, nor does continual flame.
Spot modifiers in vanilla nwn are as follows :
- +10 DC if the spotter is in combat.
- +5 DC if the target is standing still.
- -5 DC if the spotter is standing still.
- Size modifiers (tiny: +8, small: +4, medium: 0, large: -4, huge: -8).
- Area spot check modifiers.
- +5 DC for stealthed players (only), if they are in the back arc.
- +5 DC at night if the spotter does not have a light (or darkvision).
- -10 DC at night if the target has a light on them.
Listen :
- +10 DC if the listener is in combat.
- +5 DC if the target is standing still.
- -5 DC if the listener is standing still.
- +1 DC for every 3 meters between listener and target.
- Size modifiers (tiny: +8, small: +4, medium: 0, large: -4, huge: -8).
- +5 DC for every 40cm of object (including creatures) between listener and target in outdoor areas.
- +2 DC in indoor areas if the line of sight is blocked and the target is within 4 tiles.
- Area listen check modifiers.
Also, a bit more on topic : Changing the light color is a ridiculously easy change. (Probably ridiculously low priority though.)
Bumpety. If this isn't hard to do, I think the RP possibilities and rewards would greatly outweigh the simplicity of this humble request.
Whether or not the light source generated by the Light spell is considered by the stealth system is unconfirmed (or rather, the request for confirmation has gone unanswered because likely only a BioWare dev could say for certain).
There are magical spells along the lines of "Adventurer's Fire" that make light sources that don't attract attention/cause other adverse effects. I don't see any issue with "making" the spell light more useful (competition for Ray of Frost/Cure Minor/etc.) by not-adding stealth penalties. (Well, not making, more like leaving alone.)
Between now and a couple hours after Lost I'll try something with this that I've been meaning to do for a while.
The BioWare devs did answer. Having lights out, any light source, applies a -10 to hide, from what I've read. Though this penalty may only be in night, and these sorts of penalties never show up on character sheets.
POWERGAMERS! I just want different colored lights, is that too much to ask for?
(totally in good fun and jest, I fully understand the mechanics concerns, but gosh darn it, the OP was I just wanted some colored lights!)

The blood legion had to get crimison rings and hunter's cloaks for all it's members. But if Peregrinus could just have enchanted all to glow red, it would have been awsome.
