So Neverwinter Nights came out in about 2002. Today it is 2010, so the game is about eight years old. Assuming we are going by the time line when the main campaign came out, the current year in game would be 1380, or since time runs faster on our server, closer to about 1388, which means that the events in Neverwinter were about 16 years ago, since it happened in 1372 DR. Is there any other perspective?
You can do !t in irc to know what the current in-game date is. There used to be a calendar in the town hall in the underdark that would do that same thing. I don't know if that still exists somewhere in the current world.
No calender exists. Would be nifty to have that back though.
It's Kythorn 8 1377. But we generally ignore official timelines. The Forgotten Realms setting is just a commonly known setting that is useful for its pantheon, system of magic, background cultures, etc.
Not to mention: why would a server have to be so rigidly tied to having the NWN events chronologically take place when the game was released? Making a server which takes place in, say, 1250 DR would be just as possible.
The laws of space and time do not apply to Howland.
