....someone returning to EFU:A from about a six month break.
Someone who:
-Doesn't know the current political atmosphere on the server
-Is a bit out of practice RPing
-Has a work schedule that makes playtimes only late at night or weekends
I was thinking about a docks-like person, that whole "everything" feel to it seems like it would make it a good area to start out on again after a long break from the server/game. But honestly I'm drawing a bit of a blank after being off the server for so long, heck, there wasn't even a "Docks" area to begin with last time I played, it was just a couple buildings/ruins.
So if anyone has any good suggestions for a way to get back into the server after a long break, please, help me out :|
Go through the portal and roll with it.
Another insane sorc that fireballs cults headquarters.
Go CN, dude, that's all there is to it, lol, and just go with it, whatever seems to make sense for your character. It's what I'm doing with Adam and it's working out well, and I only returned to the server about two or three weeks ago.
(Sorry, Laddermen, for blowing up your guildhall with my insane fireballs and stuff!)
Find a character concept you like and build around that. If you want to feel wanted, Rogues are always scarce.
I'd ask for the same sort of suggestion for someone who's played on and off for a while without ever really jumping into it.
I'm contemplating sticking in an app for a faction (I have a rough one in mind), but part of me thinks I should play a ''throw away'' character to really get the feel of things first.
Thoughts?
Throw yourself in at the deep end. You learn a lot more that way, really. That goes for the both of you.
Join a DM faction, I'd recommend the Sons of Sabuth personally.
Joining a DM faction is a great idea. Start off with a basic concept for your PC that has a leaning towards a faction. If you manage to get in, the DM plots and PCs and enemies practically land in your lap.
DM's Factions, Player Factions. Both are constantly on the lookout for PC's.
If you cant be bothered writing apps, join a player faction. If you're interested in one of the DM factions I'd highly reccomend them all.

Join the Hog's Head Player Faction, No Apps needed!
*end shameless self promotion*
Also, a good idea if you just want to RP without having to pay attention to the political climate (from the start, anyway) is a cleric.
Join that Hog thing, and you might get a chance to roll with us Duergars.
Roll Mystran.
Or Azuthan. Or Savran (?). Magic is cool.
Join (insert blatant self promotion here) House Harper!
I second that
