I'm not going to go into massive detail about the faction, just wanted to say that things are heating up in this amazing faction with its amazing back story, and with amazing goals that (arguably) will decide the fate of all existence. Join the Order, join the Host, save the world one grim step at a time.
Also, DangerousDan blatantly has a rock on for this faction.

There seems to be a general consensus that unless you are grim, fervently dedicated to the Three, and hate heretics, you have no place amongst the Order.
This couldn't be further from the truth.
There is room for so many different concepts. Inquisitors, knights and heretic haters are well and good, but PC after PC of the same only leads to turning a faction stale. There are places amongst the Order for others. The Order faction is like any other, in that the only constraint is the extent of your own imagination.
I welcome anyone who wants to get involved in a faction with rich history to make a PC. Don't fall into the trap of stale, one-dimensional PCs, but exercise your imagination muscles and push the boat out. Take the faction in your own direction.

With the recent death of faqir's PC, the Order has lost one of its finest players (for a while anyway).
Not only does this mean that we're looking for new people, it also means the opportunity for advancement has just increased dramatically.
Be sure to make use of the opportunity to have fun in one of EfU's most originally conceived factions.
I'm bumping this thread. The Order still needs new blood. The plots and lore is amazing, and there's lots of opportunity right now that the Numinous Order has access to the Colony once again. Feel free to log onto #numinousorder if you want to chat about concepts.

The goals are identical, the political climate has changed...slightly. Also, people's perceptions of the faction have been limited. This written above is very true:

The Order's hit the awesomeness jackpot today, being thrown smack dab in the middle of the latest server-toppling plot. With a few PCs losing their lives in the process, there's new opportunity to get straight into one of the most interesting and original factions in EFU.

I'm still away a few days more, but this faction might be the best I've been a part of thus far. The lore is amazingly deep, and there's many things that need doing for all kinds of concepts.
Do something different from the normal "evil" tolerating lot. Roll up a character that takes a true stand, and has the NPCs to back it up.
The witchhunt continues - With Howland's post of focussing on the existing factions snapping us back into the reality of EFU, I would like to say this:
This is an extremely interesting factions, and there few and far concepts who would not be fitting for this faction. Our enemies are many, our allies few and teneous. There is always something to do, right now perhaps a bit too much for me to handle on my own. If you wish to share the burden, and stave of the End of Times, and join an Order that relies heavily on mysticism, archaic prophecies and a pro-active stance towards the Heralds of the End, then wait no longer and seek us out!
There's lots still going on with the Order, the H'bala plot, the hamlet we're building, and the revelations at the Order Conclave about a week ago. This is a faction that's incredibly deep with lore, and unless you're afraid for your character to be disliked by a good portion of the PW it's great faction to join. Anyone with interest should feel free to join our IRC channel, #numinousorder, to talk ideas, and find out more about the Order.
While never inside the faction, i tagged along with them enough to tell you it is very awsome. i'd have joined if my PCs wasn't a halfling.
Numinous Order has quite a few spots now that we've had a bit of faction clean out; get those apps in and start approaching IC! We got plenty to do now and there's enough for every Templar, I think.
While the DM's are finishing up the Order Faction revamp for EfU:M, you may want to consider starting an Order character now since we have one last Templar hanging around still.
As I understand it, apps may be sent in and accepted/progress made to faction admittance IC, but the actual inductions will not happen until the faction is opened.
There's two groups: Footmen and Knighthood
Footmen:
Grunts, non-faithful who stand against H'bala and with the Order. Not of the Three, but they acknowledge them.
Knighthood: Actual faithful of the Three.
Faction Requirements:
Race: Human or Half-Elf
Alignment: Non-Chaotic
Class: Non-Druid
Special: Acknowledgement of The Three (as the actual and proper worship of the Triad)
Definately a Must
