Title: Spontaneous casting for Druids
Post by: Jasede on December 23, 2010, 01:52:43 PM
I will be the first to say Druids really do not need any more help; they are a very good class as is.

However, in the game ToEE by Troika, I remember that Druids were able to spontaneously cast Summon Animal for every spell level, just like a cleric can cast healing spells. If this could somehow be scripted as a /c druid_cast command, I think it would be a fun and versatile feature.

On the other hand, summons as is are pretty good, and like I said, Druids do not really need any help. Still, I found this to be a very fun mechanic, and we can always use more of those.

I like this idea, and no, I don't think it makes druids OP.

I like the idea and not op imo.

I do not like this idea. Especially with a good summoning theme, being able to cast up a large group of summons without any real preparation can be an extremely nasty surprise. And druids already have plenty of methods for nasty surprises.

I thought they could already do this.

We don't have the level of control over spellbooks that I would want to be comfortable implementing something like this.

actually iirc, that's the way it is in 3.5 pnp rules, and they actually implemented it in NWN2, but not NWN
