Few possible bugs
1. I wasn't allowed to pursue my research before level 4
2. When I chose to pursue my research and chose "Do not spend a point at this time" upon returning to the menu I didn't have the option to research at all (As if i spent a point?)
For point #2, it states that selecting that option prevents you from doing further research this day.

That seems a little silly to me, Just saying.
I think it's hardcoded that way, or is implemented to prevent folks from exploiting something. I'm not really sure the reason, only that it can't really be fixed.
