Title: Horrid Wilting
Post by: Spiffy Has on January 02, 2011, 11:25:29 PM
Have it do negative damage instead of magical damage.

It's a necromantic spell, and it does immense damage than can effectively wipe and fugue a party.

Would be nice to give this a counter.

I'm totally surprised this is even an accessible spell. For quests or PCs.

I would agree. This spell has zero defense and is pretty much instant death for most characters (at the levels we are playing at anyway).

Unless it has been changed for EFU:A this does do negative damage.  Also, agree with Relinquish, how often do 8th circle arcane spells occur?

Horrid wilting does magical damage.

I'm not sure whatever it was that cast this spell, but as far as I'm concerned, the spell isn't overpowered. It's an 8th-level spell, after all. They get it at level 15. That's huge.

If you're facing off a lvl 15 wizard, for whatever reason, with a mid-level PC, you deserve to die.

The spell does between 40 - 80 damage depending if you manage the saving throw or not. A manageable amount...

It's definitely dangerous and extremely painful to low HP classes.

The spell by itself isn't the problem, but the DC (for the one I used) was too high. I would have adjusted it lower if I had known.

Ah I must have just gotten a bad role on the damage then. Thanks for the info Mort.
