Did this quest two days ago. Forgot to post the bug report immediately because of other IG action happening before we could even split the loot.
The extra reward given by the quest giver was a Snake Tooth Pendant, an item that has a description labelling it a favoured totem of Talona. In the dialogue with the quest giver he says something alike "Here, have this sacred relic too."
Considering who the quest giver is, I wouldn't expect it to be intended for him to give out sacred relics of Talona.
