So I'm starting up a new necromancy/undead-focused faction. I've big plans for this and hope it will be an exciting ride.
We focus not on making undead supersoldiers, or on releasing H'bala, or any of the other things necromancers sometimes do, but rather on one part of Velsharoon's dogma: "By seeking to explore and extend the mortal condition and form - even mortal life itself - knowledge of the world and its infinite complexity are extended." In other words, figuring out how to become undead, with lichdom as the ultimate goal.
Though good characters won't fit in, for obvious reasons, neutral characters could conceivably work with us, though evil is preferred. Class is not an issue, so long as you aren't a druid. Fighters, bards, barbarians, monks, wizards, whatever.
Faith is another thing that isn't terribly important. Though preferred that you worship Velsharoon, other (similar) faiths could fit in.

Stuff is happening. Big stuff. I am in awe of the plots unfolding around me. If you're trying to decide on a concept, there may never have been a better time to be a necromancer or someone who works with necromancers on a regular basis.
