Title: Wild Orc Warriors
Post by: Divine Intervention on February 27, 2011, 11:38:01 PM
I noticed the last two times I've done the Orc Raiders quest the warriors do not use there axes, instead attacking unarmed, I assume this is a bug.

i also noticed this on the Longest Night quest only with the Nightriser Guards.

NPCs seem to be using a random assortment of weapons, including sometimes being unarmed, which is really badass if you ask me.

Same with the gnolls on the Gnoll Tribe quest.

Yeah, this tends to happen with the new, rather cool random weapons feature, if there's a large amount of lag. Could it be fixed by Cursing the default weapons so they can't put them away?

Not sure. But if all the orcs are going to spam the 'curse' script, wont that cause an overload? Increasing the lag even more.

Maybe they have some gloves,  and use them instead?

the problem is when they don't have a weapon, they cause AoO's so yes some gloves with damage woudl fix that, i suppose...

Give all monsters Improved unarmed strike.

Having gloves that deal damage does not negate the AoO, this feat does.

All Gnoll Warriors and all Orc Warriors (not Berserkers) are without arms.

The answer is simple, they are all multiclassing to monk, as they figured it was about time seeing as none of them wear armor, and the gloves that drop there. :P

I personally like this. They're beasts, really. They likely don't forge very many weapons, if any.

I think it adds flavor when some of them don't have any weapons.

Or the unarmed are too dumb to live, which fits as well :P

It does feel odd though that they go Capitan America on you, with shield but no weapon.

Indeed, you'd expect them to win in that case

An Ogre Bandit was trying to punch me out earlier today. However I haven't seen any continued issues with the wild orcs. Though I haven't done either of the orc quests for a few days, so. I could just be getting lucky.

Still happening for orcs also.
