I think with all the current threads a master thread would be best with dealing with this issue. And better yet, a poll!

They do.
Can we win? There were threads about XP and Loot being too easy to come by, now you complain that it's too hard to.
Anyway, this is pointless, Howland has already said he's going to look at making the less-often done quests more rewarding.
*Facepalm*
If the dms think this is a bad idea, Might I suggest deleting the thread?

I don't think the rare quests are the problem, although part of it perhaps. XP was hit hard and now you have new AI spamming potions that make certain quests twice as hard or lengthy. I don't recall any of the mentioned "nerf XP and loot" threads, but I don't see why they would have been followed even if they exist.
The increase in difficulty increases the net gain in FUN
Granted I've been gone for two years, but since coming back and experiencing the new AI I find it very enjoyable. It makes the enemies more intelligent and challenging. It promotes better tactics and teamwork. I really enjoy it, overall.
As for the quests being rewarding, I think they're still plenty rewarding. I enjoy every quest I go on.
To be completely honest, I was really debating coming back. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it. I am pleased to say I have been proven exceedingly wrong, and am loving my time back. This new AI is just one of the many reasons.

I agree with one exception.
That you die and have to grind trogs over and over and over is not fun at all. Thus, overhall it is less fun to have a higher dificulty while we have such harsh penalties for death.
