I was talking with a bunch of folks last night about Mount & Blade:Warband. I just found out that it's actually on sale on Steam right now for $6 US, or 5 Euros. It's a steal.
If you go to the website, //www.taleworlds.com you can download the game and try it out the predecessor to Warband, plain Mount and Blade. They play virtually the same, although it does not have multiplayer and Warband is significantly more in-depth.
And if you want to play around on cRPG mod, send me a PM. It's got a fairly steep learning curve, but I've been enjoying the hell out of it for quite some time now and my cRPG people love to train others. Plus, STRATEGUS is the pinnacle of Warband's potential. It should be starting up again sometime soon, another reason not to wait too long.
Also, they're releasing a new M&B game in a few weeks.
Thanks, Garem. Picking this up.
Bought all three games for 14 euro, not bad at all
The new M&B, Fire and Sword, just came out. Party management was greatly improved, but from the reports I've gotten nothing in it was anything special over what the Mod community has done (guns, pretty new armors, etc.).
I've got my foot out the door heading off for a weekend vacation. I told a few folks from my cRPG/Strategus clan about EfU, so hopefully a few will pop by IRC and the forums and see if this is something they'd be interested in playing. Likewise, if you like Warband and are curious about what Multiplayer/Strategus/cRPG is like, they're good people to talk to.
