You know the coolest thing about knights? Abusing power!
it gets so lost in history with all the nonsense about Chivalric codes, honor, purity, loyalty, and all that boring crap.
The Bastard Knights are just that. Bastards. Without giving too much away they operate in and around the Dominion with a certain intrigue and political stance that quite a few would find offensive if not borderline corrupt.
Picture every story you have heard of a Knight kicking a peasant's teeth in for staring at him wrong- We'll do things like that.
Picture the old Samurai tale of a lord's guardian cutting down a peasant who hunted one of his animals - We'll do things like that.
Imagine the old Feudal tale of a Caravan running over a peasant's child and then the peasant apologizing for his child's dead body causing the Caravan to lose a wheel. -Things like that.
The Dominion is a brutal and ruthless tyranny in which slaves are praised, narcotics are not outlawed merely "Suspect", and proper noblemen are given leeway at times to do as they wish so long as the Lords of the land kept happy and the law upheld.
Somewhere along the way people seem to have forgotten that fact, that
Bastards flourish in a setting like the Dominion.

PCs don't need to be Bastards to rent property or get involved in the district, though those that do will certainly have more favor.

If enough PCs have interest in being a slave, such things have occurred in the past where DMs run cool auctions or otherwise. Monster PCs with suitable application can also pursue this kind of thing.
Just note that slavery and PCs have an at times sketchy history. Usually of people bolting at the first chance they get heh. RP of such is not for everyone, but epic to the server if done appropriately and handled well.

Whats the timezone(s) exactly?
I myself am pretty heavily american timezone due to school and such. Usually Afternoons CST (GMT-6). Though weekends and whatever stuff naturally fluctuates.
