Title: Possible issue in Harpies
Post by: Professor Death on May 01, 2011, 11:40:31 PM
I do not recall this coming up until recently in Harpies, and I have now seen it occur with two vastly different characters - one a barbarian and the other a wizard:

When affected by one or more of the harpy songs, the characters get "stuck" unable to move, attack, drink, or do anything else. They do not show the charmed, confused, or any other effect and this weird lockup lasts for a considerable amount of time (1-2 minutes) even after they are all dead and the group is waiting to move on. It seems to only have affected my characters when they are fighting on the penultimate "level" of the climb up the cliffs. At first I thought it was because of some weird interaction as I experimented with Clarity potions, but I have now seen it affect me at other times without a Clarity in use. Any ideas?  Like I said, this is a fairly recent occurrence
For me but seems only to happen on that one level and doesn't show the behavior of a charmed, dazed, or confused character.

It's not the harpy song, it's Tasha's Hideous Laughter which is terribly bugged. It lasts turn / level instead of round / level, and it's duration persists even if it's removed.

I can verify this.  Have seen it happen twice.

Yeah, it feels like Tasha's keeps you down for a VERY long time when the harpies cast it.  Could it perhaps be removed from their repertoire, if it is indeed not working like it is supposed to?

It is not just the Harpies. Seen characters downed for ages by the shamans in the Granary with the same spell.

Well that helps. I'll watch out for it then. Thanks.
Was th harpies using this a recent addition or have I just had a recent run of bad luck?
