Some of these secret areas which have merchants in them require two PCs in order to get inside. I am unsure if all do or not, at least the Stargazer one requires two. Is it possible to remove the 2 player requirement from merchant secret areas?
Is this even desired? I think it would be pretty nice to be able to access the merchant areas when exploring wilderness alone as they don't straight out give you the possibility to benefit from soloing secret areas for great rewards. Wasn't this the reason why the 2 player enter requirement was implement?
A seperate area would need to be made to account for just possible merchant encounters. As it stands now, the areas that have possible merchant encounters also contains other encounters that need be undertaken with a minimum of 2 players.
Your suggestion though is noted.
You need to find a friend :(
Yeah, this also applies for when the encounter is nothing but flavour. A couple of times I've recruited a PC or been recruited to go and check out a random explorable, and then after crossing over half the island, found it to be the Stargazer Funeral or something. No IC or OOC reason not to go and look.
Possibly the 2-player requirement could be put on an internal transition within the combat explorable areas? For example, a "Vault the Fallen Tree" placeable that needs 2 players to unlock, or you can't reach the part with the mobs in. However, the transition into the explorable area is accessible to anyone. That way you know if the explorable area is a multi-player encounter and can go back and get help.
Isn't exploring the amazing, ambient random areas more fun with someone by your side as well?
It's not more fun to go on a long round trip to pick up a buddy for OOC reasons than to go in, see the little flavour area, then keep exploring. The ambient areas are better if the're more accessible for people to see, rather than less so.
If the 'ambient' areas or 'merchant areas' allowed a single person in, 90% of people wouldnt bother to bring a friend along, aka: "Oh, its just some stupid 'Gazer funeral, who cares, there's no loot here."
Mystery! That is what we love EFU for, no? You expect GREAT BATTLE and MASSIVE SUPPLIES and you are instead greeted by a beautiful, heart-breaking, ambient scene.
Ugh I hate when you are crushing shit with your bros, then there is just like some gay ambient setting shit ?? totally not cool
