No wizard ever bothers to learn this, as its not worth the effort for a spell you'll rarely, if ever use, but I've used it before as a neat RP tool (e.g. my Cleric thanked an Amaunatori for his help by making his shield glow to match his armor).
Could we therefore have it as a potential, commonish drop on say, Wizard Lab? Scroll drops like Acid Breath and Lightning Bolt have been great for getting Wizard PCs to use less popular or more situational spells, rather than the usual standbys.
That was Richart Schmidt’s shield and he loved it, called it his ‘sun shield’ until the day he died.
I’d second this request.
There is a wizard PC already with this spell which has spread to other wizard PCs. There are very little wizards going around lately asking for scrolls in the first place. Perhaps you can find one. >_>
Oh, really? Wow.
Well, basically Horizikaul's Boom, Combust and Continual Flame are about the only l2 scrolls I've never seen dropped, and whereas Combust is a popular(ish) spell, especially for mage duels, Continual flame isn't so much.
Although it is a bit FOIG, I found Continual Flame on a quest drop and have it scribed in my spell book. I cast it on my staff so I didn't have to memorize light. If I want light now, I just whip out my staff.
Going off of your reasoning in the original post, if you think the spell is so hard to find and you want it so badly for your character, why not learn it when you level up?
Can it be purchased off an NPC? If Sugriam or someone sells it I'd say deal, but if not I don't think it's entirely unreasonable to add it to a loot table or two, or add it to a shop somewhere.

Totally findable by talking to wizard PCs. Because FOIG.
Learn it on lvling up if you think it's hard to find, since you'll be able to buy the other most common ones.
A good point, but I don't want it more badly than a l4 Spell :P I'll look for it IG off someone.
There are PCs in game who know most, if not all spells levels 1-3. You just have to work to find said PCs.
