The feat doesn't seem to work with the Troglodyte King Trident or Ceremonial Trident. Equipping either one, I do not get +1 ab. The feat does work with the Crude Goblin Trident.
@_@ Snoteye?
Just giving a little reminder about this. It's with all tridents though. The weapon focus feat doesn't work for tridents period, though it had been suggested in a different thread to change the .2da for tridents, or make it when you take weapon focus: trident you are also given "Weapon of choice:trident" and "Superior weapon focus" so that you actually do get that +1 to trident when the feat is invested without getting it to any other weapons. Wouldn't have any effect on inadvertently unlocking prerequisites or anything, just a sneaky workaround. This could be a little unfair to level 11 trident weapon masters though, but those aren't too common!
Edit: Oh, no, it won't actually since the superior focus stacks.

Would it be possible to have a script check if the character has the feat and a trident equipped, and if so apply a +1 attack bonus?
It shouldn't work with trident at all, the feats busted. If you actually have it work with any trident I am amazed :O
Gotham's right. Should be completely broken.
Amaze away! I just tested it in a private module and superior weapon focus does indeed work. It is only normal weapon focus that does not. Improved Critical and Weapon Specialization do work, and so does Superior Weapon Focus. It just needs to be made that when taking the Weapon Focus: Trident feat you are given Superior Weapon Focus for the trident instead. That will cut down on lag produced from scripts having to routinely check players for feats and provide bonuses accordingly and would be less work.
Hurrah!
Superior weapon focus is +2 atk instead of +1 however. They aren't analogous.
I am sure the 1d8x2 (20) weapon wielders will weep for +1 ab to make up for the utterly shit weapon that tridents are.
+1 isn't huge!
Giving a bump to remind this is still broken. And superior weapon focus isn't +2, it is +1. *winks* It isn't even needed though. Can just make it so that if the character sheet says weapon focus: trident then give +1 AB like Self Taught, but only active with trident equipped.
